I stamp on my extra blanks layers to make my own Decoupage paper!
Those napkins are beautiful
Great to bring back what I call “ old school” techniques. We forget & younger people may never have seen the process. I used to do this over shoe boxes to store paper things in, or making bins in my pantry. Lovely idea thanks so much for video. Might be great idea for wedding / 1st anniversary card. I remember a friend who had the prettiest paper napkins that were used with the cake. I had to save the napkin it was so gorgeous. Wish I had done something like your card with that napkin. Thanks again for video.
TFS. Appreciate your frugal approach.
I used to decoupage napkins onto clay pots, and seal the insides.
How much fun is this?!?! Very pretty.
Gorgeous napkins! Great video! Thanks for sharing! 🦋🪴🥀
Thanks Lindsay. Very pretty.
Gosh, I haven't done anything with collage since I was a kid! I think this could be a really good technique for someone who doesn't have a lot of background stamps and whatever - a pack of napkins with a seasonal print is super affordable, and much more accessible than buying background stamps and inks and all the stuff around card making
I have always wanted to try this, but wasn't quite sure how to go about it. Now I can give it a go, thanks for another great video lesson.
So pretty. I have used tissue paper on wood project, but never looked at napkins. Such a good inexpensive way to get some fun backgrounds made for on cards, I never would have thought of it.
Thanks Lindsay. I love to decoupage but never thought about making a card with it. Love the inspiration ❤️
Fabulous. Thank you. X
You ARE amazing! Those napkins are gorgeous❤️ Absolutely love this tutorial 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼You can use the extra layers for lifting gellli prints too.
Love!!! So fun!!
Lindsay thank u for showing decoupage! I love doing it on home decor but now u have given me a new project to use it on! TFS! ❤️🇨🇦
Thanks for showing this. I always see these pretty napkins at Hobby Lobby, but never buy them because I don't know what to do with them. Now I do!
So pretty. Such a versatile idea. You could punch out shapes and mod podge them down, various colors. You could even do a mini quilt. Wonderful. Really inspiring.
Thank you for sharing! I’m new to using napkins, so this really helped me. 🌸🦋🌺
Awesome. Thank you for teaching this.
Hey, Linsay. I learned from Crafty Irina, to put a small piece of cellophane tape on the back of the napkin, and pull. It will start the peeling in no time at all.
I love using napkins. That piece you pull off, I stamp on it with archival ink and then bring out my craft iron and crayons. I heat up the iron and then rub the crayon over it and then iron onto the napkin. That gives the napkin such a soft colored tint. If I don't want color then I use bees wax, either clear or the yellow bees wax for an aged look. If you wax a napkin you don't have to pull off that extra layer because the wax will fuse it together. When I leave the extra layers on it makes the napkin solid enough to use as pockets or envelopes in a book project.
Thanks for the tips!
Hi I'm Iranian from iran and ilove this video because it's so beautiful and helpful and wonderful
I have done this project with wrapping paper and scrapbook paper. It does up nicely on clay flowerpots. Of course, you can only place artificial flowers in it.
This was cool!! Now I know what to do with that beautiful tissue paper!! Thanks Lindsey.
Its hard to believe how many different ways there are to decoupage napkins! This looks like the easiest!
Gorgeous!!!!!
Love watching your channel, it helps so much to get away from all the craziness in the world. Thank you and know that what you do helps alot of people escape life for awhile!💜🧡💜🧡💜🧡💜🧡💜🧡

Lovely! I've been having fun doing this as well! ❤
Very pretty!
Beautiful card 😍
Thanks for tip and trick of pulling the napkin apart......your card is beautiful.....Thanks Lindsay
Great idea! Thank you for sharing
What a great idea! There are so many cool party napkins out there - a good way to add trendy elements to cards and other projects!
This is really nice.
Beautiful!!
Oh my! Mod Podge and napkins, two of my favorite things! Thank you Lindsey! Great card idea!
I just love your videos! Tfs!
Loved it!!
Great ideas! ❤️
Hi Lindsay. Cut the napkin (after you removed the layers) with a little bit of water on a paint brush. Cheers
Love using napkins on cards. Those ones are gorgeous. 👍🏾💯❤️. Hugz
I'm screaming, "just use a pair or scissors". I guess I just found out I may have OCD.
😄😉
Me too.🙄
@@taylorjudi same!!
Thanks, Lindsay. I save some of my wrapping paper and napkins throughout the years and this will work well to get them out of storage containers and actually use them. And what nice ideas, too!
Mod Podge Matte and Paper are my favorites for decoupage with napkins. I use them in junk journals and that way the pages don't stick together. Yours turned out beautiful! Now I'm going to watch the other video about trinket tickets, thanks!
Thank you for doing the card using decoupage for the background! It certainly turned out pretty!
Love it!
I love using napkins and tissue in collage.
Tfs.
Love this!
Great idea!! I love using napkins in my art journals. I have the same napkins! Dollar Tree is a great source.
I'm going there tonight, I keep seeing people post awesome craft supplies they've found there layely!
@@thefrugalcrafter I can only find a few of the items people post. But one of the stores near me sells lots of napkins.
Renee, if you have a Tuesday Morning store, they have really pretty napkins!
@@mzp6620 yes! They have a great craft section too!!
I love this technique! And I have those napkins! But I never opened them...so I had no idea they weren't covered in the pattern! Lol! They are so pretty! I always keep an eye out for neat napkins or tissue paper! The Dollar Tree is my favorite store!!! 😁❤
What an awesome project. This is so,pretty.
Glad you are showing us these crafty techniques :) Thanks
So beautiful, i love this ❤️
Love it ❤️
Just received a stack of the the beautiful napkins in a 12 days of Christmas Advent swap. So happy to see you have this refresher out here or I would have forgotten to use the wax paper.
So pretty! Love decoupage!
Lovely
Great tips!
Yay! Thank you! The card looks beautiful!
Gorgeous! I'll have to remember this for Christmas too as I have several sheets of really pretty tissue that were "too good" to put in a box and be thrown away.
This is great. Beautiful card! Thanks for showing us.😁
I just read a trick to separate te layers more easy: rub your fingernail over te part on the edge thats 'bubbled' and when they are flat you can separate it very easy. (hope you can understand what I'n trying to say, my english isn't all that great)
So pretty, thanks Lindsay!
Gorgeous fun project! Thank you for sharing
Thanks for posting! So easy and such a fun technique!
Love this and it's easy and pretty!! Thank you
Loved it, what a terrific effect!
Thank you so much for the video and explanation. I’m going to give this a go now that I know how to do this.
Love the theme/style!
Thank you for the great idea. Love it.
Oh my gosh that is so beautiful. Do you know ive never even thought of doing that on cardstock. Thanks so much for sharing as i have a drawer full of gorgeous napkins. Lou xx😊👍
So awesome!! Thank you for sharing 🌹
I think I only ever saw these in the dollar store. When I was in the US.
Really great idea never thought you could use these that way.👌
Recently I started doing junk journals. They are really addicting and there are so many printable papers and kits in etsy.
I just feel like the hard part comes when you have to decide on the decorations😅
You can use the unprinted napkins or regular plain tissue paper in mixed media too. Go and get your unused stamps and make your own custom, printed tissue paper. Depending on the stamping ink whether permanent or not, this will affect the look you want. Non-permanent ink creates softer lines/texture that will be affected by the mat medium and the ink color will be incorporated into you design; and a bolder texture using permanent ink that will clearly show your stamp design with no bleeding ink color. 😁🌺🐝. Enjoy!!!!!!
YOU CAN USE A WET WATERCOLOR BRUSH AND GO DOWN ON THE EDGES, THIS HELPS A LOT
I’ve seen this before and have always wanted to try it, but never have pretty printed napkins. I will be looking at them now at the Dollar Tree and on clearance. This turned out really nice.
Awesome ❤️
Oh look, another one of my faves!✌🏽💙
Use a water brush to make a line where you want to "cut" your section.
I love this. In my world there are many bottles of Mod Podge (matte, gloss, super gloss). I have used Mod Podge to seal paper and it tends to stay tacky. I switched to matte medium and it dries too quickly, ha ha. This was so pretty I may need to try again. 😁
The matte mod podge doesn't stay tacky for me. The gloss does so I use minwax polycrylic as a final finish.
Love the card. I keep planning to try this, just usually don’t have decorative napkins. Think I bought some recently, so this may be the kick in the pants I needed to do it.
Absolutely love this, Lindsay! I did buy a bunch of decorative napkins a while back for some DIY one-sided laminated pouches (by laminating only on pretty side made it much more durable when applying glue because you're gluing paper on paper, and it saved on laminating pouches and I liked the matte texture of Cardstock on inside of pouch); I hope that makes sense LOL. By the way, really pretty vintage napkins you were able to get your hands on. TFS Lindsay, and to you and yours, please stay safe & healthy.
found it thanks!
Thanks Lindsay. I've never tried mod podge. Those napkins are so pretty too. Have an awesome afternoon 😎
You can also use white Elmer's glue.
@@thefrugalcrafter Thank you Lindsay 😊
That was fantastic. I have some tissue rolls from Tim Holtz's collection that I've never used (but thought I had to have), so now I can use them!! Thank you for sharing.
Those would be pretty!
Jim...same! I need to use that stuff! ha ha
If you just slightly dip your finger in water it will make it easier to separate the napkins 😊
Thanks!
@@thefrugalcrafter You're welcome 😊 Love your card. I decoupaged a keepsake box with those exact same napkins about two years ago.
Lovely! My skills need to be honed because my napkins always wrinkle when I glue them down.
Make wrinkles part of your design and can buff a bit of brown ink over the wrinkles to age it!!!!
Pretty! Most of the wrinkles will relax and disappear, once the project dries anyway.
Very pretty! Thank you for sharing the card base/panel cutting measurements. I think these will fit in a standard #9 or #10 envelope? Going to give it a try - thanks!
Yes it will
@@thefrugalcrafter Even better!
