Huntington Park High School Alma Mater

Here is the Huntington Park High School Alma Mater performed by HP’s well established Spartan Marching Band & Colorguard. Under the direction of Mrs. Kelly Anthony, this exciting group makes up a large majority of the music program at HP. For the past three years, the Spartan Marching Band & Colorguard has placed in the top 3 spots at many competitions throughout Southern California. Furthermore, the HP band has been featured in The Los Angeles Times, helped make HPHS a Grammy Signature School, and has several students continue to play music after graduating. To this day, this band never fails to excite crowds all across California throughout the year.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Spartan Marching Band & Colorguard is unable to come together in person for the fall. However, that did not stop them from playing music at home. Mrs. Anthony continues to meet with the HP band every week via Zoom. Through these meetings, students continue to learn basics and fundamentals as they would in any normal school year. Although we could not rehearse together as a full ensemble, each musician continues to strive for success on their instrument individually. This video not only illustrates school spirit outside school perimeters, but also shows determination, hope, and motivation through each student at HP.
