- Hired by the king to assassinate Menomn (Steven Brand), the man who conquered his tribe, Mathayus of Akkad (Dwayne Johnson), arrives in the courtyard to carry out the deed. However, Menomn and his men are preparing to punish a boy for stealing by chopping off his hand. Mathkayus impulsively chooses to save the boy instead, sparking a chase throughout the city. I love this movie. Its alot of fun, The sword fights the acting the funny lines and typical badass good guy vs evil emperor warrior story line plus a beautiful love interest for our hero that's also important to the actual plot. I'm such a big fan of this that I'm starting a The Rock Scorpion King collection! I remember watching this film alot as a kid and loving it. :) now watching it as an adult is more entertaining I'd say. The line "Well, are you gonnah try to kill me or just stare at me?" Is definitely a favorite and that "owe!" Rock's character gives think is exactly how he'd react to a cut like that. Lol

I grew up with this movie. In fact, this was how I actually got introduced to Dwayne Johnson and to the Mummy films this spun off from. I vaguely remember seeing this very young once on TV and I tried finding it when I came across the VHS for The Mummy Returns, thinking it was the same movie, since it had him on the cover, but it wasn't and I ended up growing up and loving those first two Mummy movies ever since.
Such a fun Conan the Barbarian-esque movie.
I vaguely remember seeing this once and being very annoyed both because it had little if anything to do with the second mummy movie and because it was trying so hard to be conan.
Weirdly enough, I liked Arnold's Conan a LOT better than this...
Even as a kid i knew those girls were bad news. Figured something like that would happen. Kelly Hu is Gorgeous even now. I love this movie watched it so many times. Though sequels not so much.
