  • An early example of J.S. Bach's compositional genius is this work, dating back to when the composer was just 18 years old. At the time, Bach had just gotten a job as the organist at the Neue Kirche in Arnstadt, Germany. Among the piece's features are a nine-bar solo for the pedal which opens the Prelude, and an infectiously happy fugue subject which culminates in a virtuosic flourish to bring the work to a close.
The instrument is a C.B. Fisk, op. 140, installed in 2015 at Plymouth UCC in Seattle, WA.
Special thanks to my friend Nathan Miller, who assisted in the recording and production of this video, to Joe Williams and Plymouth UCC for making it possible to record in their beautiful sanctuary, and to Dr. Wyatt Smith who helped me prepare this piece for a recorded audition.
