He should definitely receive the Kennedy center honors soon. His impact on American film is immense
Yes, I agree 💯 😁!!!!
Well if they can give it to George Clooney it's really kind of worthless to give out now. They have ignored EGOT Liza Minelli for years. She will be 78 soon. What are they waiting for?
Imagine, Oprah is Kennedy Center honoree and not Harrison Ford, that's utterly ridiculous.
Definitely. Give this legend his flowers. He's up there with #DeNiro & #Pacino
I agree. He a legend. It past time for this honor and Kennedy center
His impact on modern cinema can never be underestimated. An absolute icon
And despite all his iconic characters #IndianaJones #Decker & #HanSolo he never was typecast.
It's a shame they ruined all of his best roles in recent years.
@@ColemanJRimer yes....these last 2 Indiana Jones films are just awful
@@ColemanJRimer Yes; I didn't need to see an older #HanSolo, #Indiana or #Decker; not because of his age, but I want to remember those characters how they were.
For us the kids of 70s, 80s and 90s Harrison Ford was the first action hero of our time. He balanced action, comedy and drama in his most unique way that left an effect on. Seeing his montage of work makes us wonder how much he has contributed to the art of cinema and how much we were entertained.... Thank You Harrison Ford
Truth.
Hell yeah.
Well said .
Yes, you're right. He's the hero of my childhood !
First time I've ever seen him so tearful.
That realization that a nearly 60 year career has been well spent. Incredible.
The thing I respect most about Harrison Ford is this: every role he has ever played, he became a unique individual. Han Solo was not Indiana Jones. Indiana Jones was not the president of the USA. The president was not a blade runner. His ability to be so many different people is simply astounding.
Agreed. He never got stuck in one role. Amazing.
And none of them were the hot-rodder in "American Graphitti"
10-year-old me is freaking out and fangirling. I've loved him since I first saw him as Indiana Jones. He was my very first crush.
Now, 50-year-old me is sitting here crying because he is just still...so fkn awesome. LOL.
💯🙌☺️
Im straight and I had a crush on him too 🥰
@@GeraltofRivia5150 lolll
60 yr old me is so very glad he is being recognized for all his work. Yup, I am a giddy fan girl over him too.😊
You don't realize how long someone you've never met has been a worthwhile part of your life until you see a video montage like that. Harrison Ford is certainly a someone like that for me. Watching all those clips was like watching my own life unfold from young boy to mid/late 50s man. I'm extremely thankful to him for all the enjoyment he's given me through his movies and offer my whole hearted congratulations for a well deserved and overdue recognition.
Hans Solo, Indiana Jones and/or Blade Runner = Harrison Ford is a Hollywood Legend. Yeah !!!
An all-time legend of the screen, and by all accounts a tremendous human as well. Completely deserved
The fact that Harrison not only became a pop-culture icon through Solo and Indy but then proceeded to make one phenomenal movie after another is astounding, few actors have had such consistently great and memorable films, from the late 70s to 2000 its just a long list of home-runs. You might not like him, or all his films, but none of us can deny the impact he’s had.
Truth. In so many genres.
He's getting an honorary Oscar next year. Praying he will be alive and well to receive it
A true definition of a legend!
seeing a man that i really look up to, getting choked up is making me cry. Harrison Ford has made a huge impact in my life. Indiana Jones was one of my first loves. Those movies also make me closer with my dad since ive watched every single one with him since i was 5. He deserves every award out there
It’s going to hit me very hard when this guy leaves the world, such a huge impact on me for sure, lucky to have seen Han and Indy in the theatre
As a kid when the originals came out
I get your point but you know what.great artists become immortal through their work.to give an example,I was just watching Doubt, few days back and Phillip Seymour felt very very much around.takes a while to register that physically he's gone but like I said, his work makes him Eternal.
DEFINITELY AGREE
Agreed. It will be a never ending grief. But thankfully his movies will live forever even when he is long gone. Preserving his memory is the greatest gift we can give him. Nonetheless, it will be hard watching any of his movies without getting emotional when the time comes
"I won't take any more of your time." Now that's a classic Harrison Ford line right there.
I remember watching the original Star Wars trilogy as a kid just as generations have, and always thought Han Solo is just the coolest guy ever, that’s because of the legendary Harrison Ford. He so deserves this👏🏻
It's funny that Han is so loved by so many and he is/was likely Harrison's least favorite to play for being too cocky and too narrow a character.. the handsome rogue was not who he wanted to be.
He's humble, honest and genuine and immensely talented, so well deserved.❤️
Yes, he accepts a script for the passion of acting (including story line etc) not $$$.
@@emilyvickery8081is that supposed to make it any less worthy?
@@Saurabhhx you may have misunderstood. Harrison Ford is an actor of quality, of passion. He doesn't do a movie just to put money into his bank account.
He should have been award various awards way before now.
He is all of those things but as much as I love his work, he has taken on projects for the money 🙂
Harrison Ford will always be my introduction to the two greatest movies of my childhood. Star Wars and Indiana Jones. I remember loving Indy so much, I had a karate belt used as a makeshift whip.
Besides Tom Hanks, who was not part of 2 global major franchises, Harrison is simply unmatched. The throne belongs to him and him alone. Next .... lifetime achievement award at the Oscars. Long overdue.
You know he made a film with a fugitive pedophile right?
Tom Hanks global franchises: Toy Story and 3 movies with Meg Ryan, jk. He did great diversifying his roles. Hanks and Ford. Legends.
Harrison and possibly Sean Connery and Robin Williams. Betty White if you're going to share it with females, too.
this beautiful man ❤
There aren't many movie stars now. Harrison Ford is undoubtedly one of them. An absolute icon of cinema.
You can tell his wasn’t expecting to make any speeches or accept any awards, just be there for his fellow cast and crew. But for speaking on the whim, he did fantastic honoring everyone who helped him and the film industry. Love to see how emotional Harrison got because that got me emotional and it’s a well deserved award. If he doesnt win an Oscar for Best Actor in the future, at least do the Honorary Achievement. Love the way he ends the speech, may not be “proper”, but it was funny and sweet
Well deserved. Thank you for so many iconic performances Harrison Ford. It’s not the years honey, it’s the mileage
This is the most deserved thing ever. Such a humble moment for him. It must be crazy to be in your 80s and seeing a video like that of all your great accomplishments and seeing how your life has touched so many others. It makes me cry watching this. An unforgettable emotional experience. Well done Harrison and thank you, deeply
A hyper giant! This is beyond words! Thank you, Harrison, for the memories, for the adventure, the laughter, for being the true carpenter of this immense career! Bravo!!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Brings me to tears. No one is more deserving.
To have broken out of being known as Han Solo, to go on to have such a diversified career, is a testament to his immense talent. How many actors became iconic legends being two different characters...Solo and Indy. None! I grew up on HF, and consider myself very lucky to have done so. He/his movies brought me a lot of fun, joy and good times! Thank you, HF! 😁❤👍👍👏👏
That montage almost made me cry. The impact he has had in the American film industry is incredible. A lot of actors play a lot of different roles but this man has played many deferent heroes. I just hope he is never forgotten
Regarding Henry was one of my favorites but bless this man and everything he has done. The epitome of the anti-hero.
Why he has not been given an oscar is outrageous. What a legend
Harrison has been an insperation and a hero to me my whole life, he is proof you don't need an oscar to be a legend
He made the stars in the heavens an awesome thing to explore, He made archeology something that was cool to understand and do. Because of him and the characters HE created because of his talent, I saw the world with new eyes.
My absolute favorite characters are Indiana Jones and Han Solo. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THEM , THANK YOU HARRISON 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I do not know what is more staggering, Harrison's enormous body of film Masterpieces, or how fast the decades have gone by since his career started! Regardless of how fast time has flown, Mr. Ford deserves the Award and much more! Thank you Harrison Ford, for being an Actor and not quitting, when you were told you had no future in the business! Salute and congrats!
I’ve never seen him so emotional and grasping for words…well deserved!! 🏆
Thank you for your lovely words. I am not a social media person but your sweet words drew my attention thank you sweetheart ❤️. Where are you from?
Perfect, thank you. The man is irreplaceable. I love him dearly.
I imagine most people only know Harrison from a few of his roles, and yet there are so many more movies he starred in that they've never seen or maybe don't even know about, but he's still the giant he is anyway. That's how you know they're a legend.
Harrison such a film legend! it was great to see all of his colleagues honor him like this. He deserves it
I've loved him since Han and Indy, as a kid, it's hard to see him looking a bit frail these days, but still funny, self-deprecating and gracious to others as always. An astounding actor. Truly deserves all the recognition he gets. 🥺😭❤❤👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
He never got stuck in one character, he is simply amazing. Thank you Harrison.
Absolute legend.he deserves this award 110%.congratulations Mr ford🎉😎
Beyond deserved. Whenever I warch a Harrison Ford movie, I know it's going to be a good one..God bless Harrison. Thank you for all the years of entertainment you've brought to us 🙏🏼
Well... Kingdom of the Crystal Skull was a garbage fire.
He would have deserved to win an honorsry oscar soooo mich more than so many other actors who have won it what a shame give it to harrison and then ed harris 2 legends who are really underrated
Why I’ve loved the movies my entire life. TY Harrison Ford.
An icon to hundreds of millions of people. Well deserved.
Legend. Gotta love Harrison so much.
First and last time we will get to see Harrison Ford getting emotional unless he receives an Oscars soon
He's been the goat all my life. The movies I can watch again and again...tend to have Harrison Ford in them.
The most charismatic actor in history!
I love Harrison Ford, not ashamed to admit it. My favorite actor, to this day. I've gone to see more of his films in the theater than any other actor. So glad to see him honored like this. It's about time.
I grew up with this man on my screen, whether it be the big or small one... Thank you for making an impact on us all, Harrison Ford.
Thank you for your lovely words. I am not a social media person but your sweet words drew my attention thank you sweetheart ❤️. Where are you from?
My favorite is The Fugitive, Harrison is an absolute icon of cinema
A massive star on the screen. Incredibly humble off it. A true colossus of cinema.
Still humble.... He was, and still is, the hero of my childhood and teenage years. A giant !
He's the link between Bogey and Cooper. A must. Thank you, Mr. Ford, for everything.
One of the best, yet underappreciated, roles he's ever played was in 'Witness'. That, and Richard Kimball are my two favorite HF performances.
So very much deserved! About time! Certainly took them more than 12 parsecs. Congratulations Harrison Ford! May the Force be with you! I won't tell you the odds. Incredible career.😭 So proud of you Sir, even though I'm not your Mum or wife.
He's aged well. He's reminiscent of my childhood and therefore he deserves more lifetime awards than this.
He is, in my opinion, the greatest actor of all time!!!
What a legend ! This compilation of most of the films he was, is breathtaking ! At least, he gets the honours he deserves !
Made me cry. He is the best- always has been, always will be. He also reminds me SO MUCH of my father who passed away almost two years ago. My dad would have loved to have seen Harrison Ford so humbly accept this award, which he so perfectly deserves. God bless this man. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
He is amazing! You can tell this means everything to him❤️
Absolute icon of cinema and something many other actors will never achieve.
My favorite actor and definitely one of the GOATs! Well deserved! 🎥🎬📽
To me the best actor on the planet, grew up with his films, watch as many as I can, such a fantastic hard working actor. A well earned award!! One in a million. ❤❤❤❤️
He’s always downplayed his contribution to cinema, describing it as a job and filmmaking as a business. It’s nice to see him in the recent years getting emotional as he realizes how much he’s meant to not only cinema, but to all of us who’ve followed and loved him for decades.
The Man. Thank You, Harrison Ford.
I think we all know what he meant when he said he was happy to see actors get opportunities that they may not have gotten early in his career. What a legend.
He is the ONE! One of a kind. Multiple actors rolled into ONE. The Legend. Thank you Mr Ford.
Timeless movie star!!! Best of the best❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
So it’s not just me that appreciates Harrison’s work 🤗 Nicely Done giving him this recognition 👍✨
He deserved this and much more for the amazing work he has done. When I was a child I LOVED Indiana Jones and I think it was because of Indiana Jones that I became really interested in History and actually wanted to be an archeologist. Every time Indiana Jones was in TV I would run and sit in front of the TV mesmerized and in my own world. I also liked the original Star Wars, but not as much as Indiana Jones. He was the coolest character ever during my childhood. Now when I watch Indiana Jones I get this nostalgia feeling. Harrison Ford is a legend!
Such a humble man! Outstanding body of work! Truly an American icon!
My absolute hero growing up! Thank you Harrison Ford, for all the characters you have played and for all the inspiration you have given from those characters! This recognition is so well deserved!
My favourite actor .. thank you ,Harrison.
He is very humble and I wish him the best. ❤
truly one of the greatests artists of all time.
Harrison Ford and Tom Cruise are the most deserving of Oscars at the Governors Awards- they have done more than enough to get one
All I gotta say is: it’s about time!
*Quick note:
When the camera is going to be panning the audience and you're texting during a speech, well, it doesn't look good.
Harrison Ford has always been one of my top guys. Yes, masculine yet vulnerable, that was his style. Always humble, always of great character.
When he married Flockhart, 22 years his junior, heads turned. I'm so glad this Hollywood marriage worked out.
I remember a story decades ago when a female journalist was doing a story on him, she said, "I'll never forget. He had to change his shirt. He got up from the interview and did it in another room."
Take this story as you will, but I knew then, this man had class.
So, like everyone on this thread, I'm glad he received this award, and that short clip of his movie career was fantastic.
Harrison Ford is the greatest actor of all time who made cinema on what it is today. He makes everything iconic in any movie he was in. Harrison inspired me to make fan films of his work in the future. Harrison Ford, congratulations🎉!!! On the career achievement award, you are a legendary icon.
A hyper giant indeed. A movie star in every sense of the word.
Wow, Harrison Ford what a legacy!❤🥲
long overdue to receive all the lifetime achievement awards there is, really.
He is definitely an ICON and a LEGEND, who belongs with the list of industry greats like Eastwood, deNiro, Pacino, Brando, Sinatra, Nicholson...
But what makes him more special than those is that he made an impact to a lot of us since we were kids. The characters he played and shaped, were the ones we wanted to be. Solo, Indy, Deckard.🙌🏻
He has been an idol for generations after generarions and generations to come.
Cheers to you, Mr. Harrison f*ckin' Ford!
Also, This is the first time I've seen Ford visually emotional.
He was my hero ❤
Simply a legend.
Always was and will be my favorite actor.
Harrison Ford is the best of all 80’s films!! His acting is done to the ultimate topnotch level-god bless you Harrison!!🎉
What a phenomenal actor and he is so deserving of this award! ❤
That's right damnit!!! EVERYBODY in that damn room, and ALL OF US watching this on RUclips or wherever else on the internet should be standing and applauding for this MAN of men! This is Harrison FORD!!!!!
God bless 🙌 Harrison Ford 🙏 as he gaves us the greatest entertainment in century that I totally love and admire as he always shines with beauty ✨️ 💖 🙏💯👏🙌
Han solo, indiana jones and decard, harrison ford has a legacy that will live on
I’m glad I grew up with Star Wars and Indiana Jones from my childhood.
Harrison Ford has enjoyed a versatile and successful career. Congrats. I look forward to the next Indiana Jones films.
What a legend
Harrison Ford, you shall always and forever be My Hero
❤👏👏👏👏❤️
That right there is a grateful humble giant in his industry. Wish him the best
One of the greatest actor heroes of our generation.
The montage really missed an opportunity to include the iconic “I love you.” “I know.” exchange between him and Leia. Growing up with Indy had a huge impact on me. I always dreamed of being him and did end up majoring in Art and Architectural History.
All my film star heroes, suddenly have gotten old. But what a joy they have given me through all the years
To think, his roles as Han Solo and Indiana Jones weren't written for him initially (other actors were considered for Han first, and Tom Selleck had to pull out of Indiana Jones because of his Magnum P.I. role), but he stepped into them immensely well and quite literally made the rest of his career possible. Even more surprising when you consider in real life, he's almost nothing like the characters he plays on the screen.
Hats off to one of my favourite actors of all time!
Most recenty, The Dial of Destiny is a gem. It'll stand the test of time.
The absolute GOAT
