in a recent interver with Extra for Dr Doolittle, Robert Downey Jr was asked about returning to the MCU as Tony Stark Iron Man... and believe it or not, his response was the not the steadfast no you would expect, but rather, quite the opposite... while his first answer was joking, his second was much more thoughtful, were going to break down what he said about coming back, what a come back would mean for marvel phase 4 or marvel phase 5, and why you probably still shouldnt expect to see him in an upcoming Avengers 5....

Watching Cap return the stones to only end up in Secret Wars would be phenomenal
I've been waiting for them to address the fact that Alexei (David Harbour) in Black Widow kept telling the story of how he fought captain america and everyone joking him for it. It fits right in with this storyline.
That would be really cool to have Cap fight in Secret Wars, know the outcome, and then jump back as Old Man Cap to give his shield to Falcon.

Ngl, at this point I can't tell how I'd feel about a Nomad project lol.
I would've *loved* a Nomad property (either of the secret Avengers or Cap returning the Stones) shortly after Endgame, but now that so much time has passed idk if it's better for them to focus on their newer characters.
Part of me still *really* wants to see it, but I'm worried it will possibly make us miss the OG Avengers even more & want to see them come back instead of giving new characters their time to shine.

People can say what they want but once they got rid of Captain America and Iron Man the MCU has gone completely downhill. The original OG's matter they made it all come together

A series surrounding Cap returning the Infinity Stones would be incredible, especially a tie in with Secert Wars. Then again, anything that brings back Chris Evans would be particularly welcome.
The "Nomad" title would work whether Rogers is without a clear governmental affiliation or a clear time. In staying in a past and visiting Carter, he did go rogue against his mission similar to breaking out his comrades at the end of Civil War.
It would be awesome to contextualize the shield hand-off in Endgame. Not just a "I trust your character" but a knowing hint that Sam Wilson will play a crucial role for the future.

They didn’t contradict their time travel logic. You just can’t grasp all the concepts . Inside the 616 tree their rules are the same . It’s just that magic< can defy the quantum< rules . If you use science to time travel it’s different than Doctor Strange using magic to time travel and it’s that simple.

A NOMAD series with Cap recreating the period of time where he is returning the Infinity Stones sounds wonderful. What amazing opportunity to recognize that it wasn't as easy as popping into various moments in the past and flinging the stones toward the placements they were supposed to be in. I am with you in hoping this is confirmed soon.

I would love an animated Captain America series, showing him staying with Peggy, after cap gets stuck in the ice.
And seeing him rescue Bucky, rooting hydra out of shield permanently, and fixing all the nightmarish mistakes of the past, restoring a timeline were SHIELD, is stronger than ever. Tony gets the dad he’s never had, Cap gets the dance he’s always wanted, Bucky gets a life, and his mind lol, and Cap realizes that keeping some of the stones, saves lives, and timelines. Like Cap keeping the Ether, saves Jane from cancer, and Thor’s mom from the elf’s, and Asgard from attack. And after he stays with Peggy, he forms a new avengers, in the old timeline, to protect his timeline from new threats. I’d love that.

The idea that we dont need any OG avengers in secret wars is insane and diminishes any “insights” you have going forward. MCU is holding on by the thinnest of threads and that is literally the ONLY intriguing or engaging potential of all of their 6 million plot threads they’re currently spinning

I’ve mentioned in comments before, a mini series with Cap returning the stones right after they were taken would make send. Having a conversation with the Ancient One right after Bruce leaves to give back the time stone… Would be a great way to show this time period in Cap’s life. Also, I was thinking, which has been mentioned before that they could let Scarlett Johansson direct this one. I think that would be an ideal arrangement given previous circumstances and that she and Chris are really good friends.

I think your thoughts on this are dead on. Sam is going to have some awesome moments in the upcoming Avengers films that undeiably make him the obvious choice for Captain America. I always thought it was a little odd he was so blunt about making Sam his successor... and right in front of Bucky, too!

A Disney plus series about Cap's journey to return the stones would be awesome.
To have Cap fight in Secret Wars, then come back could mean that Sam's shield is made of Adamantium. Adamantium will be introduced soon, and Cap bringing a new shield back from the future would fill in so many plot holes left by him brining the shield back from the past. It's obviously a new shield anyway, the old one didn't have the seam running through the middle of the white stripe.

Being that he had a wedding ring, I would love to see the story follow when he went back to Peggie, and explain if her family (when he met her at the hospital) was with him being that they never showed a picture of her husband and she didn't say his name or that it wasn't Steve himself. Which would explain why she was surprised to see him young.
