these tools are great for ppl who do dodgy work at aftermarket service shops. being based at a dealership, we dont put bare wires into cars, we put in properly insulated and bundled wire loom harnesses so the customers car doesnt catch fire in the garage overnight and burn the house down.
We used to use something similar at ATT to feed wire through walls with insulation. We called it a crack pipe. Just used the pipe tho. No fancy handle. Pretty cool bud
This is a great idea, I sacrificed one Snap on prybar (aka 3/8 flat blade) and two Tekton stubbies to make three. One of them is 3/8” stainless, one is 1/4” stainless and one is very long 3/8” chrome plated copper faucet tubing for flexibility.. I think I will get a ton of use out of them
Good job. Thought of another addition. You could tap threads into the end on inside, then take a bolt round over so is not sharp but still pointed. Then stab away, unscrew the tip and run the wire through. Then wont snag if you have to go alongside a harness full of wires.
It’s a “black box” style device that ties into the ignition. So that when people don’t pay their car payment it eventually won’t allow the car to start.

I used to work at a used car dealership Dealership and would install these past times all the time the easiest car I ever found was a second generation smart car you could wire up everything right in the drivers foot well we would charge an hours labour to do it and you could do it in under five minutes
@@RustbeltMechanic Is it straight or curved, can you tell me the width and thickness. I do locksmith in Prisons and Jails from time to time and we come across counter sunk slotted screws that hold the locks in. The screws are 5/16-18, the only proper fit driver I have found is a 1/2" wide 5/16" hex insert by VIM. The Snap-On tool you took apart was one I wanted to get a close look at.
The one thing that may be a pain is snap on could say because of the snap on handles you are copying our stuff. But like the ideas you guys come up with.
Passtime units SUCK! Especially on cars with not positive leads or starter wires under the dash!!!! Great tools. Sure puts the old coat hanger method to shame!

Ya buddy! We have that snap on kit at work and it's super Handy. My project is definitely not going to be as finished and neat looking as yours hahah
Oh I’m sure it’ll be epic in its own ways
The snap on handles are a nice touch.....matching handles to what you have already is the way to go.

That is a great tool... I'll have to make one myself.

Interesting. We dont have that as a state mechanic... TG.. Thanks
HOW DID U REMOVE THE HANDL WITH OUT DESTROYING IT? CHANGED MY RATCHT HANDELS TO COLORS DESTROYED OLD RED BLACK.
Put the bit in a vice, use a crows foot and an extension to beat it off

Marine mechanic. That screwdriver isn't for terminals but actually for the drain screws on outdrives. I use mine every single day.
