I watched your video from last year, and as soon as I saw this one recommended in my feed, I had to click on it. 🔥 I really appreciate your transparency 🙏🏻. I’d love to see some content about the process of switching jobs in Switzerland. I’m planning to move there next year, so content on that topic would be really helpful.
Almost 6k surplus every month is super impressive. It's also a very good thing that you're already looking into how to invest that money, you need to get started ASAP to take advantage of compound interest. At one point you mention putting money away to cover unexpected taxes in a 1% yield savings account. I think you should look into low risk investments like bonds and money markets which have a 3-5% return. I'm curious to see what the real estate investment you're teasing at the end is. Personally I stay away from real estate ownership since that needs to be actively managed and I already have a full time job, but I do have money invested in REITs (another thing for you to look into 😉).
Thats amazing man, i moved to Switzerland 2years ago and ive been living in ZH for the last year, this month i decided to self teach coding in the hopes of becoming a software dev through online courses and youtube videos. Stumbled upon your channel and it really motivates me man, keep up the good work awesome videos 💪🏾
Hey Richard 👋, being a software developer is coming in handy to get the side hustles you've gotten! Since you're only 22, you're building 👷♂️ a solid 👌 💪 foundation for your future. I hope 🙏 to see 👀 more of your YT uploads so I can keep up with your progress. 😊
from what I've heard here switzerland aint as magical to live in as everyone's trying to make it look... self-insurance 300+ franks? paying for parking spot at your own firm (and actually at home too, should be included in rent) ... also, you should look for more, 60k/year is too low for full stack in switzerland.
Great video! I'm a junior software developer based in Spain, and I'm really interested in working in Switzerland. It would be super helpful if you could share some advice-if you were in my position, what steps would you take to land a job there? Thanks a lot!
@@RichardStrittmatter Yes, please! I’m excitedly waiting for that video. Could you also include some tips for those of us living in Europe outside of Switzerland, in your point of view as a citizen and junior there?
@@RichardStrittmatterideal, and how would you say the job market currently is for software engineers or tech related roles in Switzerland is ? Love to hear your take!

I disagree. Talking openly about money and being transparent about finances should be normalized. When people stay silent about their financial situation, it gives employers a significant advantage, as it keeps employees in the dark about fair compensation. Transparency empowers workers to know what they deserve and to negotiate effectively. Besides, I find it genuinely insightful to learn what others in the industry are earning-it's valuable information that helps everyone grow.
It takes balls to be so transparent so props for that, there's a ton of videos out there with all fluff and no meat that don't clarify a thing.

I, as a hardball Techlead, need to be over-employed to reach 11K monthly.
Switzerland is probably the only country on the globe for people.
It has its downsides too man. Not all that glitters is gold
what if, if you are a non citizen of SWISS and work there do we still need to pay a taxes ?

Since a lot of people seem to be interested in the whole „working in Switzerland“ topic, I think I’ll make a dedicated video for this soon.

Same here, I also live in Spain. Even though I'm still just a student, but I'd like to move to Switzerland at some point, it seems really nice
Awesome video, I got a question also 🙋, as a software engineer is language typically a barrier when trying to secure a job ?
Depends on where you want to work. Big companies usually allow only English but smaller ones want you to speak the local language.

Whar stack do you use at work?
Symfony & React mostly
Can you make a video of your educational background

If you didn't have a side income you basically would not be saving almost anything, that's unexpected.
True, but I think i would also lower my expenses without side income.
