Love the Green Bay Packers hat! I'm originally from Wisconsin and found it refreshing you were wearing my teams colors. Enjoy your videos and subscribed. Keep em going.
Hi Thomas, High Five!! funny, I met the Rockwell guys at their table at the Big Shave West II in Pasadena, California this past April. I had fun checking out their prototype razors but two tables over I met Stan from Above The Tie and fell in love with his new Bamboo SE razor which I purchased. also got the Kronos Slant which is my new favorite. so efficient. so now with the money you "saved" perhaps you can purchase a proper NFL cap like the Miami Dolphins. LOL. just kidding. too bad they couldn't upset the Seattle Seahawks last Sunday but maybe upset the New England Patriots today?
Hey buddy. Yes I talked to the guys also and they seem to be really nice guys. ATT are also very good razors and I love my slant. I am not so into the SE, I prefer my old GEMs for SE hehe. As far as NFL, I love it in general and the caps I own are actually all gifts from fans of my channel as they know I am a NFL geeks but have a hard time watching since I am in Europe. However this year I got an NFL.com season pass so I finally can watch online :)
What a beautiful, well designed razor!! Thanks for bringing it to light, Tom. I just realized that we are kindred spirits as far as the third pass is concerned. I too have to shave my neck from right, to left for ATG. I didn't realize it until you said that you had to improvise. I guess that's why it never occurred to me before today. I always assumed it was normal. One question, I couldn't understand you on the name of the aftershave you layered after the Spring Heeled Jack?
Thanks buddy. Yes shave directions are something you need to get into. As for the aftershave it was Santalum Fumus by So Sharp Limited. The scent was developed by my good buddy David and he just nailed it. It is such a nice rich smokey scent. Absolutely manly, yet handsome.
Yes I have seen the kickstarter for their new razor, I wonder how it will turn out. I got burned one time on kickstarter, why I am not doing it anymore, but I might buy it later on. As for the Progress, I think it is a great razor, however I prefer the craftmanship of the Rockwell and especially the glide abilities.
ah ok..well i have good experience with kickstart. BTW they have their shit together they even have a warehouse in the EU so that should be no problem..Only thing that bothers me is that there is no review showing the different gaps or spacing between the different numbers /plates..because currently i find the Progress on setting 2.5 ok and then i switch to my merkur 38C barber pole to finch up..
but the one you have is way way better i mean it's stainless steel this is the cheaper model chrome hahaha ..i'm stil hesitant it's $40 plus $20 shipping but no tax because of the EU warehouse they have..But still the extra $20 kind of sucks
Hey Thomas, great review. Are the heads bulky? Concerned about maneuverability under the nose and chin area. The head looks a bit thick. Let me know your thoughts on this. Thanks.
Thanks, well I had the same feeling when looking at it, however the head has a shape that it tapers towards the ends where the holes are. So it was actually quite easy to go under the nose etc. I would say it is even better in that regard as for example the Merkur Progress or Futur, which are more bulky at the edges.
If you had the "R4" facing the razor blade when assembled, you were actually shaving with the "R2" setting per Rockwell's site: "The exposed number you see on the Rockwell 6S, when it is fully assembled, is the size setting you are shaving with." I haven't watched your follow-up video yet, so you may have already discovered this. But I figured I;d leave this comment in case you didn't know.
I dig the finish also. The nicest looking razor out there.

Thanks buddy, new videos soon and I may be from Austria but love to see the Packers play (and win).

Really enjoy your channel! Keep up the great videos! I should be getting my rockwell in the mail today :D
Awesome, I hope you like it as much as I do.
great review. I love my 6s ever for a new wet shaver as me 😎
Glad to hear it. Shaved again with it today, was excellent again. It might become one of my favorites.

They have a kickstart running now. I have the Merkur progress long I wonder how you would compare both

Thanks, found that out right after the vid. Still love the razor :)
I think the head is just MIMS stainless steel, no coating.
Thanks, yes indeed it is just stainless which is blasted with micro particles to give it that finish.
