I like Jessica Simpson. I think part of what the viewer is witnessing here is that Jessica is not so full of herself like so many starlets, and she is pretty much ordinary. She behaves as if she is not famous, and you can tell she's a little nervous. She is someone to which people can relate.

Nick was verbally abusive to her on their show and he would say hurtful things to her that would be uncalled for. Jessica was the show, Nick was just a jealous asshole of her success.
