So by cba standars its ok for George to go to knicks, whats the difference clips or ny. Im sure other eastern teams dont think that helped anything for non big market teams
All of what you say is right about Bronny. But I think for the fans we looking at what the Lakers need. Everyone was hoping to get that Big that everybody knows we need. I'm not sure of Big availability with the spots we had in the draft. But we was hoping to get that big to help down low. We picked up a helluva' athletic gaurd with Knecht. Needed! But no big.
@MazeBlurs90 That's a bit harsh. I'm not against them getting Bronny, I'm just saying most was hoping to land a big, something we've been needing for 2 years. I also understand there are Bron fans, and there are Laker fans. Very seldom are the two the same. I'm the exception! I'm both.
We also need our veteran players to take the rookies under their wing and practice with them. Teach them how to be successful and work ethics. Other teams do that and there is a lot of seniority in this team. That hurts the chemistry too.
Curious I understand how DLO opting in can be good for LA (great value and potential trade later) But are there any positives whatsoever to him opting out?
Hey Trevor do you think Dalton can play a Christian Braun type role for us.? I understand he’s not as good of a defender but I think he can be the 8th guy
I prefer to keep DLo over AR. Dalton makes AR expendable. We won’t win a championship with AD at center and LeBron at the 4. They need to be our two starting forwards. Rob has to see this. The proof has been our results since Javale and Dwight left.
Where bronny last name made difference it got him to the combine once there he earned teams and scouts attention that indeed will be good enough to play in nba. Not 1st time someone last name got them a job. GO LA
@MazeBlurs90 there's literally no available polarizing Center in the 2nd round, that could make the situation better lol I'd agree with you if they used their 17th pick on Bronny, but no.
@MazeBlurs90 and drafting a center on the 2nd round, wouldn't be an answer as well Y'all pretending that the 55th pick is the defining piece LAL needed to be complete lmao
I don't get it either. By the 50's in the 2nd round, every draftee is a development prospect. There's only been 1 Manu Ginobili (drafted 57th). The probable difference in players is marginal. Might as well take a chance on a player with a high ceiling and pedigree. It's also undisputable that the Lakers see themselves as a family organization. Bronny is on-brand. IF he pans out, his value for this organization goes far beyond any other pick available in the 2nd round.
Trevor you are so correct about what you are saying about this Bronny situation. A lot of this Bronny hate is because they hate LeBron. Even animals try to help their offsprings how much more is it human nature to help our offsprings.
I really don’t think there is any Bronny Hater’s. I can’t see anyone just hating on him. I do believe people really want him to have success. Maybe they just don’t like the process and the way it went down. That’s not hating on Bronny, Anyhow it’s done ✅.So let’s just see how it all works out Congratulations 🎉🎊🎈 Bronny much respect to you
Not hating on Bronny..hating on the Lakers for drafting someone because.another player said so. We are officially playing for the name on the back of the jersey. Bronny has the potential to be a more athletic Derek Fisher type player, which could definitely translate to a long career, especially if the defense improves.
I think Bronny is going to surprise a lot of people, watching him at the combine this yr, he was impressive, I hope he proves what he can do for this team in the summer league and G-League. Bronny's in the right situation if you look at it from a basketball pov. He's going to be with some of the greatest basketball IQ's on the court and coaching staff that isnt even finished being built yet. Yes hes a 55th pick, however in the words of the late great Kobe Bryant, "If you want to bet on some one, Bet on Yourself." Bronny is doing just that and I hope he makes the rotation this season, to shut everyone up. As a die hard laker fan I want him to succeed, and saying hes a GP3 type player? thats insulting, cmon now... With that said, the 17th pick was a steal, they needed a 3pt shooter if LA is building around Bron and AD they need consistent shooters, hes going to be a huge part of floor spacing. Im curious as to who LA's going to sign at the start of FA, they still need to get better at the 3 pt line..
No they don’t. They only have 10 players under contract right now. If the 4 players with pending player options all opt in we still have Christie spot open.
@@truckerstar24 You’re correct, another way to look at is take last year’s roster & replace Dinwiddie & Prince with Bronny & Knecht. This equals 15 players, the max.
@@fredtogawa4908 that’s just what the lakers did. But I see the lakers adding other pieces which means that even if everyone opts in they’ll making a trade.
BUT TREVOR, Salty Sean graded Bronny’s pick as a C. Just imagine how many championships we would win if we used our 2nd round #55 on someone else? Salty Sean is absolutely not biased.
Should the Lakers consider trading Hays, Cam, and another player for a starting center to help with defense? If so, which 3 or 5 centers should be considered
I wonder if theres a world where the Lakers get rid of Lo (no D cuz he plays none), and go for KCP or kLAy... go back to LBJ more as a PG - AR can play a combo guard role. Also give AD more of a ball handling role. 🤔🤔🤔
@@icecoldac3 my preference is Dejounte Murray... Lo + 2 firsts (might need a 3rd team) - basically Diangela's 39% career playoff fg percentage isnt a fluke at this point... it's been 4 years of proof and 3 different teams (again this year he was 39% FIELD GOAL, it's who he is: soft, no defense, the playoffs are too physical for him) Another indicator is his lack of free throws, he doesn't put pressure on the rim. Dejounte would be better, hell I'd rather have Schroder back tbh.
People are confused. Nobody cares we spent a second round pick on Bronny. No one cares. It’s the foresight that we have that y’all are missing. Bron said he wants to PLAY WITH his son. Yall keep saying he’s going to the GLeague and be there most times. That ain’t what Bron wants. Bronny will be on that 12 man roster. And he doesn’t deserve to be there about guys like Lewis and even Castelton. But he will get that spot over them. Bro expects to use this as somewhat of a “farewell tour” type approach, where he goes from city to city playing with his son. And THAT is what we are talking about when we complain about this. Who cares he got his son in the league lol good for him. That’s a great dad!! I applaud it. But the pressure that will be placed on the Lakers to play him every game so Bron can “have his moment” all season long could very well halt the progress and growth of other more deserving players. JHS misses two shots. Bron says put Bronny in. JJ says Bronny isn’t ready yet. What type of friction will occur then? The pressure to play Bronny….when we al know he isn’t ready. THAT is the concern we have. Not us drafting Bronny. Us playing Bronny.
I understand nepotism is prevalent, but I do not see an issue with the Lakers drafting Bronny at 55. By all accounts, the kid is a hard worker who's deserving of a shot. So I get why they drafted him. The possibility of father and son sharing the same court at some point is intriguing and exciting. LeBron has worked his tail off to have the longevity and chance to play with his son. If Bronny shares his dad's work ethic, chances are he'll make it.
After watching the 2nd round this year, Bronny was a great pickup at 55. Those other guys looked like extras on Clipped LoL Bronny looked like a steal compared to them ijs
If we gave up just a few less offense. Rebounds per game last year 75% of the people here hating on DLO would love the guy. He wasn't even as terrible in the playoffs last year as y'all think. Yeah he had dud games.... But those were games we would have won anyway if we didn't bleed second chance points. For 2 years I've been screaming rebounding and getting drowned out by all the people screaming shooting Well guess what happened when the Lakers found a shooting but still couldn't rebound Same thing They got bounced. We talk about how they can't finish quarters or they come out flat in the third What we should be talking about is the leads we always blow in the second quarter when Davis sits down and nobody rebounds the damn ball
I think the farther son thing is great too and I can't wait to see history be made That said, I don't buy your argument Trevor. The other teams were going to possibly draft him because he's a legitimate talent. P I think other teams were going to draft him because they thought it would be neat to have LeBron James son on the team. If nothing else it might put a few more butts in the seats or maybe get them a couple more games on TV So yes you can make an argument that the only reason he was drafted is because he was LeBron James's son
I’m glad Bronny got a chance to get drafted by his father’s team. How many people get jobs because their fathers work at a company? I’m sure the Lakers will coach him up
@@dmitryowensCameron Johnson is a better wing defender than Rui. Offensively Cam is more versatile but Rui is more efficient. When you look at what Lakers need…… the answer is Cam. Lakers have no intention of making a trade if teams are looking to fleece us.
@@dmitryowens different playing styles though. RUI is more of an interior scorer with the occasional 3 point presence. Cam is a 3 level scorer that’s essentially a glue piece alongside AD & Bron. The difference is not far off but it is noticeably.

we will know in the future if Jr. is really NBA talent once Sr. retired, e.g. if he is employed after a year or two. it happened here in asia , a father and son tandem in the same team exists years back, the superstar father played until or near 50 yrs old. once he retired, the son was no longer playing and he is in mid or late 20s only.
What if LeGM told his son Bronny to hold back at his USC stint to dramatically increase his chances of being drafted in a late pick by the Lakers so that they can play together? Had he had a breakout year at USC, he may have been picked by another team much earlier in the draft. There IS a possibility that his low college stats were all just a part of LeBron senior & junior's big plan...something to think about.
Lying?! bro its the 55th pick, it never matters who they pick on that... I'll believe people saying Bronny is a bad pick in the 55th if they can name at least 50 players that was picked 50-60th that last in the league for 10+ years even as a role player or better yet a benchwarmer.
Trevor Great video. Put the brakes on. Your hyping this Kid, like AR15 and THT. THT disaster. AR15 Role player believes a lie he on same level as Bron and AD. Sad. He is decent player. But cannot defend. So enough on Dalton. Let Dalton prove himself. Trevor lastly, AR15 nowhere close Larry Bird.

Great? I wouldn't go that far. I'm not upset about Bronny at 55. It's the cost of getting LeBron back in the fold. I do wish people could be honest about why Redick and Bronny are with the Lakers. After next season when the Pelicans FINALLY cede control of the Lakers' draft picks, then they can go about the business of building a title contender again. A serious contender. I’m happy that Lakers drafted Bronny James! I also love the Lakers drafting Dalton Knecht because they need shooting!
Y are we so adamant on trading D-lo?? He jus made tha most 3s since Nick tha Quick and we don't even have good 3 point shooters as is..jus get a back up point guard that does what D-lo doesn't and make it work. This y tha lakers front office can't build a proper team
So by cba standars its ok for George to go to knicks, whats the difference clips or ny. Im sure other eastern teams dont think that helped anything for non big market teams
Congratulations to the James family for making history ! Bryce up next !
Ty Trev!
Needed! But no big.
@MazeBlurs90
That's a bit harsh.
Curious
I understand how DLO opting in can be good for LA (great value and potential trade later)
But are there any positives whatsoever to him opting out?
Hey Trevor do you think Dalton can play a Christian Braun type role for us.? I understand he’s not as good of a defender but I think he can be the 8th guy
Guard rotation gone be packed. Not enough mins to go round
I prefer to keep DLo over AR. Dalton makes AR expendable.
We won’t win a championship with AD at center and LeBron at the 4. They need to be our two starting forwards. Rob has to see this. The proof has been our results since Javale and Dwight left.
AR doesn’t disappear like DLO in the playoffs
Where bronny last name made difference it got him to the combine once there he earned teams and scouts attention that indeed will be good enough to play in nba.
Not 1st time someone last name got them a job.
GO LA
Would you do Clarkson , Kessler
For Dlo Knect and a 1st ?
I would rather have DFS at a cheaper rate than trade for Johnson
They're pretending the 2nd round, 55th pick is a POLARIZING pick and it's hilarious 😂
@MazeBlurs90 there's literally no available polarizing Center in the 2nd round, that could make the situation better lol
I'd agree with you if they used their 17th pick on Bronny, but no.
@MazeBlurs90 and drafting a center on the 2nd round, wouldn't be an answer as well
Y'all pretending that the 55th pick is the defining piece LAL needed to be complete lmao
Trevor should talk about all the Bronny haters and why they're wrong and why they're haters
Bronny is a great kid, but 4.8 points in the PAC 12? The narrative that Lebron runs the show has now been confirmed for many people. The optics are just bad.
@@peymangthis is the same guy who brought you a championship in his 2nd year while you were having fun with Larry Nance Jr and Lance Stephenson. It's insane that you guys can't support LeBron getting his son drafted while theres bums on your bench with no upside left just clapping and cheering. This is something that's never been done before but when Shaq brought his bum ass son on the squad I bet there wasn't no issues.you guys are absolutely pathetic
@@peymang Judah Mintz on Syracuse(19 pts/gm) much better player and was available
@@gwenmarie7311 either you have cognitive dissonance or it’s genuinely your own anecdotal experience but I don’t see how it’s hard to miss the direct vitriol directed Bronny’s way even if you’re barely looking for it 😭
I think Bronny james at 55th pick is awesome for the sporting world and James family.
Can you imagine Savannah James in an Apron saying ok Boys eat your food Lebron and Bronny so you can get dropped off to play the game. Bryce driving them off to the game, whilst lebron and bronny analysing plays in the back on the ipad 🎉
#Gold#
Appears Lakers must waive and/or trade 1 player to make room for Christie if Reddish & Hayes exercise their options.
No they don’t. They only have 10 players under contract right now. If the 4 players with pending player options all opt in we still have Christie spot open.
No one needs to get waived. It’s the offseason.
@@truckerstar24
You’re correct, another way to look at is take last year’s roster & replace Dinwiddie & Prince with Bronny & Knecht. This equals 15 players, the max.
@@fredtogawa4908 that’s just what the lakers did. But I see the lakers adding other pieces which means that even if everyone opts in they’ll making a trade.
BUT TREVOR,
Salty Sean graded Bronny’s pick as a C.
Just imagine how many championships we would win if we used our 2nd round #55 on someone else? Salty Sean is absolutely not biased.
Should the Lakers consider trading Hays, Cam, and another player for a starting center to help with defense? If so, which 3 or 5 centers should be considered
Is there a route for kcp to lakers
I wonder if theres a world where the Lakers get rid of Lo (no D cuz he plays none), and go for KCP or kLAy... go back to LBJ more as a PG - AR can play a combo guard role. Also give AD more of a ball handling role. 🤔🤔🤔
I like this but JJ and Pelinka collectively on board with keeping the ball out of Lebron hands to enhance his off ball efficiency and wear and tear.
@@icecoldac3 my preference is Dejounte Murray... Lo + 2 firsts (might need a 3rd team) - basically Diangela's 39% career playoff fg percentage isnt a fluke at this point... it's been 4 years of proof and 3 different teams (again this year he was 39% FIELD GOAL, it's who he is: soft, no defense, the playoffs are too physical for him)
Another indicator is his lack of free throws, he doesn't put pressure on the rim. Dejounte would be better, hell I'd rather have Schroder back tbh.
We don't need Knecht to be a star, we already have Bronny.
LBJ is bronnys fav player he has said it multiple times in interviews years before the draft he just also happens to be his dad
One accurate comp for Knecht would be a young Nicolas Batum when he was a Blazer.
G-League ratings are going through the roof!
The Lakers really need DLo to opt in so they can use him and his contract in a trade.
For 2 years I've been screaming rebounding and getting drowned out by all the people screaming shooting
Well guess what happened when the Lakers found a shooting but still couldn't rebound
Same thing
They got bounced.
We talk about how they can't finish quarters or they come out flat in the third
What we should be talking about is the leads we always blow in the second quarter when Davis sits down and nobody rebounds the damn ball
I dont think its nepotism , Bron just had to much gravitational power
I think the farther son thing is great too and I can't wait to see history be made
That said, I don't buy your argument Trevor. The other teams were going to possibly draft him because he's a legitimate talent. P I think other teams were going to draft him because they thought it would be neat to have LeBron James son on the team. If nothing else it might put a few more butts in the seats or maybe get them a couple more games on TV
So yes you can make an argument that the only reason he was drafted is because he was LeBron James's son
Dalton giving me a Bob Sura vibe
Will Bron come out with “The Decision 2.0”…. 😂
Wait till Bryce gets drafted to LA 🔥🔥🔥🔥
I’m glad Bronny got a chance to get drafted by his father’s team. How many people get jobs because their fathers work at a company? I’m sure the Lakers will coach him up
LeBron should be SF while Davis turns to PF. The Center spot is still being worked on. Obviously someone big but nimble. Good Luck.
Bruh nobody saying anything Gianni’s brother😂😂n he’s been on the team for a great amount of seasons, n to me he’s number one overall cheerleader
People Hate him cause they AINT HIM! I love this pick i wouldve took him in the 1st round honestly
PG- Reaves
SG- Max / Knecht
SF- Cam Johnson (pls) / Vando
PF- King James
C- Davis
..and we get number 18
@@dmitryowensCameron Johnson is a better wing defender than Rui. Offensively Cam is more versatile but Rui is more efficient. When you look at what Lakers need…… the answer is Cam. Lakers have no intention of making a trade if teams are looking to fleece us.
@@dmitryowens different playing styles though. RUI is more of an interior scorer with the occasional 3 point presence. Cam is a 3 level scorer that’s essentially a glue piece alongside AD & Bron. The difference is not far off but it is noticeably.
With or without Lebron, Bronny is a darn good pick at #55!!!
Dlo, Klay, LeBron, AD, and Knecht starting five
Anyone gonna be at summer league Friday July 12th?
People screaming nepotism when the Lakers front office is poorly run by a gang of Buss’s is the ULTIMATE irony. Lol! Bronny was an all American talent with incredible upside as a lock down defender in the league. (Watch his play in the McDonald’s All-American game if you don’t think he can play…). This is cool. Let it be.
We’re gonna get at least 2 people but who is the best fit and who’s leaving 🤔
Every time I see Lebron and Bronny together they better be working on their game.
we will know in the future if Jr. is really NBA talent once Sr. retired, e.g. if he is employed after a year or two. it happened here in asia , a father and son tandem in the same team exists years back, the superstar father played until or near 50 yrs old. once he retired, the son was no longer playing and he is in mid or late 20s only.
Get a big like Goga
Give him a chance 😮
Eddie Van Halen’s son had to go through the same thing. Look at him now. Give Bronny a chance.
Should, the Lakers invite 7 ' 5" college center to summer league squad. Jamarion Sharpe?
Why hasn't the Lakers come into agreement with max? Should only be a few million for him imo.
Lying?! bro its the 55th pick, it never matters who they pick on that... I'll believe people saying Bronny is a bad pick in the 55th if they can name at least 50 players that was picked 50-60th that last in the league for 10+ years even as a role player or better yet a benchwarmer.
Assuming lebron sings a 3 year extension, it would be cool if they also draft Bryce and lebron can end his career playing with both his sons
Trevor
Great video.
Highly suggest Lakers trade for big man Robert Williams III to pair with AD.
Our Lakers have become a traveling circus..who love to bring unnecessary drama to their franchise. Drafting a player not based on skill, but because his dad wants it. We are the laughing stock...meanwhile the dreaded Celts are hanging a banner..no drama with them, just hard nosed players.
All of this talk will be reversed if Lakers win a championship. Why the unnecessary hate?
D-Lo, Jax, Reddish, TP, Lewis and even JHS might be gone in FA via trade
Not just lip service.
