It's election night - Steve Hartman - you made it - you are a Superman. I'm 70 years old and wishing our politicians were heroes when most are not. But you do fulfill a great need - I often cry when I watch the Monday Kindness 101. I've called my daughter who lives in Utah and told her to have my granddaughter, 10, watch the series. Thank you for all the heartfelt stories - so glad your kids have such a great dad. I didn't have a good dad - but my daughter has - hug them all for me and kiss your wife too. Thanks so much.
What a powerful message is delivered through these simple real life stories! I hope you reach all the people who use the internet. Love and regards from India
I'm 60. If Ruby asked me what my three wishes were they would be in order of priority, a hug, a second hug and then at least one more hug. I just hope I live long enough for hugs to become safe again.
I love that Edwins family embraced Sara as a human being....and not a girl with different color of skin from their own...and vice/versa. See how easy it is everyone???
Nurses are my heroes. My grandmother was a nurse who cared for patients during the pandemic of 1918 and I am fortunate that she took pictures while she did that. Today there are nearly 3 million nurses in the US but in 1918 there were fewer than 500,000. Her mother was also a nurse and a midwife. When I did my family history research I discovered that every generation of women in that line in my family were healers of one sort or another going back to one who was hanged in Salem in the summer of 1692. She died in the service of others. Today nearly three million nurses put their lives on the line every day to take care of the sick and dying often being the last person their patients ever see or speak to. Of those, around 40,000 have contracted COVID 19 and over 2000 of those have died. Our healthcare workers, particularly nurses, deserve our praise and gratitude for all they sacrifice on a daily bases. They risk our lives and often lose them just to take care of us when we are sick. Nurses are my heroes!
@nunyabiznez6381 Good morning from the state of Virginia. I am the first one to agree that nurses are heroes. It is intriguing that your grandmother was a nurse who was working during the pandemic of 1918🙏 One of my three aunts (born in 1923) was an operating room nurse for approximately ten years. My friends Cathy, Maureen, and Maya are registered nurses as well and they were caring for patients during the dreadful pandemic, beginning in 2020.... I just read that your grandmother's mother was also a nurse and midwife. I continue to expect, and hope for, the best with regard to what my friend Maya considers a shortage of nurses at this time. All the best, Andrea S.
A friend of mine bought me a star for my 50th birthday. What she really did was donate money in exchange for the naming rights for a newly discovered star. That was one of the most wonderful gifts I ever got. But then I remembered my high school science teacher. He taught science for many years and helped me and thousands of students understand the world around us. He was a science fiction fan and loved to talk about space travel. When I looked to find out if he was around I learned he had just passed away in his 90's. I also found out that a small college observatory nearby had just been named in his honor at the behest of another former student who was now the astronomy professor at that college. I contacted him and he thought it was a wonderful idea to name a star after our former teacher. He was able to get a photo of the star and it's position and got it framed with a plaque and photo of our teacher and then placed the plaque and photo on the wall at the compass point that the star would appear on his birthday so they could find it easily. RIP Mr. R.
