I have been loving each of these beautiful stories. Steve Hartman, your children are incredible..you weren't there today but looking into your children's eyes, hearing them well..you were there truly. God bless your family and what you do. USA 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸💝💝💝
Sorry to be offtopic but does anybody know of a trick to log back into an instagram account?? I was stupid forgot the login password. I love any tips you can offer me.
@Enrique Ruben Thanks for your reply. I found the site thru google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff atm. I see it takes quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Taps never fails to make me tear up. Day is done, Gone the sun, From the lake, From the hill, From the sky. All is well, Safely rest, God is nigh. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ May God bless you , Mr. Hartman , and may God bless the United States of America.
we have a gentleman back where I grew up, a vet, and he plays taps every day at the same time too, some jerkwad tried to shut it down because it was too annoying for him. it made me sick.
Taps from my part of town. So beautiful. My dad had polio as a kid as well but he was able to serve in WWII, lost most of his hearing during his service. On behalf of my late father, thank you, sir - and thank you, Hartman family.
Steve you must be extremely proud of your children. As a veteran, i was moved to tears with each and every story. Thank you to your son for playing his guitar and for playing such a beautiful song. You have very special children and I thank you for sharing them with us. Our WWII veterans are passing quickly and it is such an honor and privilege to get to meet them in person. Thank you Meryl and Emmett for such an amazing show and especially for honoring our WWII veterans.
Wowed. My brother, retired Chief USAF Wayne Lettice sent to me on Memorial Day!! Moist eyes I’m watching through! I thank each of our brave men & women for their sacrifice to keep our great nation🇺🇸
That has to be my favorite episode. Steve Hartman, with his heart, got exactly the kids he deserves. They are brilliant. And Emmet, thank you for sharing your song. I'm just sitting here crying.
Every time I watch your Dad I cry. Now I'm crying watching you. Your Dad is the best journalist and storyteller and person! Glad to see he's teaching you to be great tellers of stories too.
Fantastic episode. I appreciate your professional, yet personal touch to the presentation. Your message was spot on. Thank you both very much for this heartfelt program
What a great tribute for this Memorial Day. Thank You both for taking time from your day to remind us why we LOVE our country. Emmet thank you for the song it was awesome
Well Emmitt and Meryl made me cry today! They are awesome kids. I know that their mom, dad, and CBS are proud. I know that I am. I hope to meet the some day and give them the biggest hugs ( the hugs are really for me)! Can't wait until next week to see the again. Love those two. Retired Sergeant First Class Cheryl Lynn Holmes Raeford North Carolina
As a father of two college girls I can speak from experience! What a pair of beautiful children you have! Emmet and Merril, are mirror of great parents!! A true pleasure to watch and learn from!
I am a 3rd grade teacher in San Diego, I had my class watch this. We were all impressed. I loved the guitar at the end. We are all playing the ukulele right now so we extra appreciated the guitar playing. Thank you for your hard work!
From a Us Air Force Vet thank you both for doing such a great job, your dad will be very proud of you and so will all U.S. Veterans God Bless you both...
Cheryl Beatty 😳 ‘Patriotism is the last refuge of the scoundrel’ - Dr Samuel Johnson, 18th century English lexicographer. How right he was, as time and again manipulative politicians use the lure of patriotism to divert public attention from their machinations that so often lead to war. Consider the current situation in the Middle East, or the recent turmoil in the Balkans, or earlier conflicts in the Caucasus.
When I was a small child I met the widow of a Civil War vet whose husband had died about 15 years earlier around 1950. She recounted some of his war stories but it was hard to hear them retold through a woman who hadn't actually been on the battlefield and who was over 100 years old. My great grandfather's brother was a veteran of the Spanish American war and he described a battle he had been in but I was 12 and uninterested. My grandfather was a veteran of the first world war but he died before I was born. We lost our last WWI veteran in 2012. My own father was a veteran of the Korean war and I vaguely remember his stories of life aboard ship in the navy. He died when I was 16. My uncle, his brother, was a WWII navy vet and died a couple of years ago. He didn't like talking about the war. While most teenagers are at best thinking about maybe going to college one day, here is a young man who is doing work worthy of a Ph.D. in history who already has discovered his mission in life and is living it. When he writes his book and I know he will, I will buy a copy and read it and keep it as a treasured tome. We need a thousand more just like him.
Steve, your children are amazing. They have so much empathy. They are both brilliant and genuine human beings! I really appreciate the great reporting from you and then!
You're awesome , I'm very touched ❤, I love to share it to every family . I remember in the Philippines, we have "Good Character and Behavior Class" in school. Watch it together with your children . Wow , thank you family 👪.
Beautiful. Merrill, Emmett, and George you have helped make this difficult time so much easier for me. I have learned so much from you. I am eternally greatful ❤
That was SO well done, so professional! Your father will be so proud of you both. My mom and dad were both WWII veterans so remembering what all of them did is so important!
God Bless You Mr.Steve Hartman for All That You Do & Having Your Children to Be Part of What You Do Best. 🙇🏻♀️🙋🏻♀️❤🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Every country needs a Steve Hartman.🤗 His reports are wholesome and healing; they come from the heart and reach the heart, putting faith back in humanity with a few tears along the way. From an appreciative spectator from across the pond. 🇬🇧 Thank you 🙏
I am speechless I am an ultimate fan of Charles Karault & u & ur precious children have won my heart completely. u have taken up the banner of honor, pride & patriotism to carry on Charles’s legacy. thank u !!!! u r a magnificent example of the quintessential parent thank u 🙏
Me too! Was on turnpike near Kansas City when I heard on NPR that Charles Kuralt had died. I was so stunned and tearful I had to pull over briefly. John Steinbeck's "Travels with Charlie", then Charles Kuralt, then Steve Hartman. All master journeyers
Your children are very special young lady and man we're gonna see them in the future they might make things even wonderful and caring about United States of America thank you again
If I can see through my tears to write something. It was so beautiful and heartwarming. Your kids did such a great job! Sweet children. Please do more!
So precious that these kids helped dad out. They did an awesome job. Fitting too that it was about our heroes. My dad served as a ball gunner on B-17s during WW2 and it brought tears to my eyes seeing these wonderful men who gave so much for our country. Thank you Mr Hartman! 👍
I've seen all of these stories and some because Steve Hartman is one of the best contemporary journalists and storytellers. His children are following in his footsteps. God bless them all. I would love to purchase a book of all of his stories to date. Call it Humanity At Its Best: Volume I.
being a 21 year Navy Veteran, these kids are the best. Thank you so much, especially loved the 2 boys visiting the carrier and being so into it, well done MR. Steve, you have a wonderful family.
I've been binge watching and love watching these lovely children grow! Hope I'm around long enough to see who they become and what careers they choose. ♥️
You had better watch you back! Your kids are absolutely amazing!! I teach teenagers on the weekends (the classroom portion of Drivers Ed). Many days we end with enough time to watch a couple of videos. I ALWAYS use your videos whenever I can. Now I can add these "101" videos to my collection! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful children with us!
You, Steve Hartman, have done a wonderful Mitzvah with your family. I am sure your children will make you and your wife very proud as adults. G-D bless you and yours.

MR.HARTMAN,I'VE FOLLOWING YOUR SHOW LONG BEFORE INTERNET I LOVE WATCHING YOUR KIDS DOING THE SHOWS AS WELL .THEY ARE AMAZING PLEASE KEEP IT UP, IT'S SO GOOD TO SEE AND HEAR GOOD THINGS HAPPENING INSTEAD OF ALL NEGATIVE STUFF SO PLS DON'T STOP
Auld Lang Syne a touching tribute. My father served in World War II in the Pacific Theater on the USS Abner Reed. I spent the last year of his life with him when he had cancer. How I wish I had asked him to record our many conversations about his personal experiences in the war, he had never spoken about them in the previous 84 years.
To Mr. Hartman (and your kids): This was an absolute amazing video - your kids definitely have a future in broadcast. I had seen your prior reports before which were amazing and optimistic. I have especially appreciated your reports on your parents, genealogy, and your reports on positive stories which we all appreciate given these challenging times. It was also interesting to learn that you're a native of Toledo, OH and a BGSU graduate (go RRRockets!) - I am from this area. Thank you for bringing a positive message to us and perhaps one day I might be able to interview you in one of your segments as you clearly have a following that adores you. Thank you again for the positive messages you bring to us all .
I wish someone blow the bugle sound here in Victoria Texas this is so inspiring and uplifting and so heartwarming it makes me so proud to be an American
WOW seems with these 2 kids around our countrys future is bright and shining, and will persevere, man what a tribute to thier dad and mom as well for raising them they way they are
