Wauw, what a great and fun video.
Mathematically Tic-Tac-Toe always ends in a draw. That is to say if both players play their best the outcome will always be a draw, since there is no winning strategy. So when someone loses that person made a mistake.

Tbh, there aren’t all that many cases you actually need to account for when you’re the first player to go and play in the corner, since it’s diagonally symmetrical for half of the options the opponent can play.
When you play in the corner, the opponent’s options are:
    Opposite corner,
    Adjacent corner,
    Adjacent side,
    Opposite side,
    Or dead centre.
If the opponent plays middle, simply play in the opposite corner. If they play in a corner, block them in the opposite corner guaranteeing a win. If they play on a side, the best they can do is force a tie if you keep locking their lines.
If the opponent goes opposite corner, play in an adjacent corner. Do NOT play in an adjacent side space or they can set up a guaranteed win while blocking you. Playing in an opposite side means they can force a tie, as does playing in middle.
If the opponent plays adjacent side, play in the other adjacent side. It will force them to block you, letting you set up a guaranteed win. The opponent should never play immediately next to whoever goes first when they go in a corner.
If the opponent plays opposite side, go middle. They’re forced to block you in opposite corner, but by blocking them back you create an opening for two lines at once, guaranteeing victory again. The opponent should also never play in the opposite side first against someone who plays corner first.
Simply put, every path leads to at BEST a tie for the opponent, so going corner is always optimal.
If middle then leap-frog, if opposite then L, if neighbouring then neighbourhood, if knight’s move then middle. Remember those 4 possible turn 1 reactions the opponent can have and you can set up a guaranteed win or tie with minimal extra work.
I’d know, I had to memorize a LOT of Tic Tac Toe strategy for a game I made for a game jam that used it as the combat mechanic for a deckbuilder RPG

    1:10 7:40 8:20 8:40 Draw :( 0:18
1:40 14:10 found a mistake? 14:10 should be the extreme upper right corner. Instead it puts the O at the left middle, which should be 14:20, not 14:10
