    Best part of all of this , it that all of these guys could potentially be absolute super stars..... The Burton pickup is my favorite pick in this year's draft.... We got a 1st round talent WR because nobody else wanted to take the chance on him, with his off field problems... Pittsburgh got the same thing with George Pickens... He was clearly the best WR Georgia had , his injuries dropped his stock and they got a steal.

Crazy how as soon as a great talent leaves we basically have a prototype great player with similar builds and similar abilities

    Burton allows the Bengals when they go spread to have three guys who can go slot or wide; Chase, Burton and Jones when they are on the field together with Higgins. And imagine the possibilities if Boyd is re-signed. Mims could very well become the starter later in the year and Trent Brown becoming the tackle backup and then the Bengals aren't pressed looking for a starting tackle when Trent leaves at the end of his one year deal. Drafting two defensive tackles will increase game stamina along the defensive line and will become the true force if Myles Murphey takes the predicted jump from rookie to vet.

      @@jbeezy-ty3em You don't draft a guy in the first round and don't anticipate him possibly winning a starting job during the year. And with Trent Brown on a one year only deal, they'll need to look at Mims with the first unit to truly evaluate him. His injury may dictate his progress though. However, OL don't rotate like DL and Myles Murphy for example, although he didn't win a starting job, had the luxury of playing behind Hubbard and Hendrickson who are longer term starters but get playing time based on rotation.

    Really surprised. The first two picks were vintage Cincinnati draft style, taking the best player at their two biggest needs. Then it was just humongous swing after swing with flawed but big upside players. Usually you see the bengals take team captains with good character and clean (injury free). Late day two and three they didn’t care they went for it. I guess they figured we have enough Boy Scouts in our locker room we can go for the big potential with flaws players. I was most surprised in the fact that they used all 10 of their picks and didn’t use any to trade up or package. Very interesting names, not all will work out but a few might.

  • @blueblazer201
    @blueblazer201 11 дней назад

    The reason I graded Bengals' 2024 Draft a 'C' is because of injury concerns. On the bright side... no injured player was selected that was questionable for their first year of availability, as we Bengals' fans have seen before, I appreciate the depth chosen on defense for rotational purposes and for shoring up the DB room. There was certainly thyme and reason in this draft.

    Sorry for the essay, I just have a lot to say in regards to some opinions. Please read the whole thing before commenting, I don't want people rage commenting after reading a potion of what I had to say.
    To start off I LOVE this draft class. I think the one word to describe it is potential. Amarius Mims has the potential to be the best lineman from this class, Jenkins and Jackson have very high ceilings. Burton was WR4 for a lot of people but the off the field stuff dragged him town. All is a great all around tight end and has the potential to be a very good tight end in the NFL. Even Matt Lee has the potential to be the future Karras replacement. Dude was projected to go significantly higher than he did, like 5th maybe 4th round (and I cant find any good reasons as to why he fell).
    Next I feel like I have to say this a lot, but I do not feel like Cordell is the weak point on this O-Line, especially not last year. Last year it was 100,000% Jonah. I swear the only reason Jonah still has a starting job is because he was a 1st round pick.
    To begin, the reason I feel qualified to talk about this is because of my experience. I played o-line for over a decade, and am currently training and learning under a highschool o-line coach to take his job in the fall (he is retiring and I am going to be his replacement) I know not the biggest or flashiest credentials, but I do feel relatively qualified to speak on the o-line.
    From what I saw on tape last year, Volson was at time the 2nd best lineman we had, but over the course of the season, especially when Burrow recovered from his calf, probably 3rd on the team. I love Alex Cappa, dude is a stud. And I don't know if his ankle was still bothering him from when he hurt it last year, but he was not as good as he was the year before. I wouldn't be surprised if Jonah played a part in it either. But especially vs the Texans, Cappa was not the same player. Cordell had a lot of games where he was close to dominant vs the opposing d-line. I remember in the Chiefs game there were at least 4 different times on film where Cordell just stood Chris Jones up and didn't give up an inch. Same thing with the Ravens game vs Madubuike, and the Texans game. He of course had moments where he wasn't the greatest, and at some points even just flat out bad. But every single one of our lineman had moments like that. I don't like PFF as a metric to base an evaluation off of, it's a good starting point, but I feel like they have a tendency to grade the big name players higher, even if they didn't play well. But even if you want to use PFF grades, take out the first 3 games, where Burrow literally couldn't move to save his life, and Cordell's grade was a 68, which isn't great, but they had his grade as a 54 in his rookie year. And I still feel like those grades are low.
    I'm not saying Cordell is some world beater, but I'm saying he isn't a bad lineman, and I can very easily see a world where we don't have a weak link in the o-line next year.

      I agree with a lot of what you said...I played OG in HS and NG in college...Williams was CRAP ! I couldn't believe he demanded a trade last season after leading the league in sacks allowed the year before ! Williams in his BEST years here was average at best ! I'm not sold on Volson, I was hoping Powers Johnson would fall to us and we could move Karras to OG. You may very well be right about Volson...a lot of his problems may have stemmed from being on the same side with Williams...all I can say is 95% of the time Burrow / Browning was sacked, hit or hurried...it came from Williams / Volson's side.

    Assuming this is just homerism, but do people actually believe that the Bengals had a perfect draft? If so, that's wild. They always sleeping because we're a small market team. I just hope this year we'll prove them wrong with a ring.

    Uhgg. Spoken like a guy who doesnt know football. My first video of you I have watched. You dont beat 2 high shells with a slot. You beat 2 high shells by RUNNING the ball. Force defenses to bring an extra guy in the box. Thats why Cincy drafted 2 TE's with signing Geiseki. Chase cant beat constant 2 high looks from 4 WR sets. Gonna be more 12 and 13 sets to get Chase 1 on 1 more which is exactly what Houston is doing now. Either stay 2 high and never see the ball cause we run it down your throat or bring a guy down and let Chase or Higgins be 1 on 1

      I love the Matt Lee pick in the 7th. Also Jermaine Burton WR Alabama and Cedric Johnson the DE from Kansas State are fascinating prospects they got in the 3rd/6th.

    I'll help you out . No team uses the first round pick on a project ,a guy who we hope works out in a year or two 😂 classic bengals fucked this whole draft up

      @MicahClark-qr6gq come on, man, they said hopefully in a year or two, so protect burrow when ? Maybe in a couple of years, great here we go. Jonah Williams wrote all over it . Ill say it again your number 1 draft pick is a guy who is going to come in and have an immediate impact period.

    I hated to hear rumors that Trey was requesting a trade. I really think we should ask him to stick it out for the season. Such a prolific pass rusher is not gonna be easy to replace. Just one more season Trey

    I grade this Bengals draft a "C or B-"

  • @bitemenow609
    @bitemenow609 Месяц назад

    This was a far from an A draft. It was a C or C- I have been a Bengals fan since 1970. Mims was a good pick. Past that the players are suspect.
