    Hello! I have a question relating to dendritic cells (DC). I first want to say what I do know about DC:
    So I know that immature DC reside in periphery whereas mature DC reside in secondary lymphoid organs. I also know that immature DC perform phagocytosis whereas mature DC have a lower phagocytic capacity.
    My question regards antigen presentation. Do mature dendritic cells or immature dendritic cells excell in antigen presentation to T cells? The answer book says mature DC. But why mature DC and not immature DC?

    I find that this doesn't go as far indepth as it should. For example, I've been told that neutrophils are the first on the scene but in this video it says that dendritic cells are. Which come first?

    • @animatedbiologywitharpan
      @animatedbiologywitharpan  4 года назад

      It depends .....neutrophils extravasation is augmented by pro inflammatory cytokines secreted by the APCs such as macrophage and dendritic cells.....moreover under normal condition the neutrophils are not found in the tissue space.... only after getting signal from APC their extravasation takes place
