If I were to ever puppeteer this (which I hope to at some point) I'd probably keep my hand in the tongue throughout all my scenes, and just use the gap in the lower palate for whenever both jaws need to move. I think this would add a little more character to the puppet by adding more movement.
Wow! This is really awesome! Is that head carved out of upholstery foam? Or is it made up of a different material to make it lighter for the puppeteer? Otherwise, the work your team put into this is really life-like and cool!

Does this puppet still have the little tie string the old puppet had?
