    A lot of herbs grow well in patio pots too. I planted mint and chives in large planters and was really happy with the results.
    Last fall, I planted garlic where I had annuals in planters and got a terrific crop this spring. I planted them just because they started to sprout before I could use them all. 😃

    Thank you very much for your videos. I've learned a great deal and I haven't even started yet. My brother and I have both fallen on hard times and we want to start a lawn care business. Most people would turn towards landscaping to accompany that, but we want to help people start and maintain small home gardens. The future is going to be a much tougher place after our little golden age comes crashing down, and we feel good about a business based on teaching gardening or at the very least encouraging food grown from home. The price of a single green pepper is crazy already, just wait for inflation to hit us all. Not to be all doom and gloom, but we just want to give people something they didn't know was so easy to do. Cheers from Canada!

    Love the video! Thanks for the awesome tips! I've had success growing romaine lettuce on my southern exposure deck in WA state using a "pea-rimeter" around the romaine to shade it from the hot sun. Plant your peas from east-south-west leaving the north side of your box open for harvesting your lettuce greens. Great symbiosis between these two bed buddies!

    Morning Jeff! Another awesome video thanks! I'm in zone 6 Ontario and I have those black bags. For garlic and strawberries should I be putting them in a protected area in the winter? How well would they survive a harsh winter?

    • @TheRipeTomatoFarms
      @TheRipeTomatoFarms  3 года назад +1

      Hey Holly! Garlic over winters just fine, and for the most part, so do strawberries. Zone 6 is getting a bit cold though, you might want to move the plants to some shelter, but not indoors (they'll break dormancy). Best of luck!

      @TheRipeTomatoFarms Tomatoes and squash were the most difficult. Small plants like lettuce, kale, spinach, and strawberries do ok, but it's a season full of tomatoes that I'd like to have. Broccoli didn't work either.
