      One's priorities change with the birth of a baby. Drawing on eyebrows seems to have fallen down the list. Anyway, I like the real eyebrows just fine. I think it suits Amanda's new phase of life, and I look forward to seeing how it is reflected in her art, as well as her eyebrows.

    When the baby is hungry, the baby is hungry. Feed or endure the screams. Funny, most peoples reaction to babies screaming is to do anything to mollify the kid. Do you think something about the species surviving this long has something to do with that? Yeah.
    So, since the kid was there the whole time, did he get in the credits? ;)

      +Zombiekoshka What a great description. I was a violinist, and tried the cello several times, but just couldn't do it. What impresses me about Amanda is that although her voice is naturally an alto, she can still hit high notes. And I didn't notice about her eyebrows...I just get so drawn in by her speaking voice and find it peaceful.

    Amanda, I would love so much to hear an alternative mix of this, vocals and string section - Just as a companion piece! Big ask, and the song is incredible, and how could I not ask the person who taught me to ask? xxx

    A question for Ben, what goes into producing a record? Those of us who just listen, I think, tend to think all of the creative burden is on the band, or the artist. What does a producer do for the final product that is beyond what the band has to care about?

    • @nikkidevitz
      @nikkidevitz 3 года назад

      im not much of a producer, and im not ben, and i am a bit late, but i think that producing has to do with making the band experiment and, sort of, i guess directing the band, like in a movie, for example. i think thats the role, the lead singer is often the screenwriter, the actors is the band as a whole, and your job is directing them and of course then comes the production itself, of which i dont know too much tbh. thats just my guess.

    There is something about this that makes me uncomfortable. Like, it's bad if you take some time off after having a baby (especially if you have the means to do so) or that it's bad to not be doing creative things all the time or even to lose interest in things that you once had interest in (she clearly doesn't, but she is fighting so hard for that not to be the case). And all of those things are actually fine if that's how you feel. It just feels like she's saying things are bad or wrong that aren't bad or wrong and I logically know that she isn't actually saying that, but there is an underlying ickiness I feel from this. I don't know, honestly, but something rubbed me the wrong way about this and it's in the vein of what I was saying, I just can't quite pinpoint what exactly gives me a gross feeling about it all.

    • @OscarMartinez-yx2hn
      @OscarMartinez-yx2hn 8 лет назад +2

      Maybe your just imagining it or something...like sometimes my idols do something and I get that weird gross feeling that your talking about. In this case I feel like Amanda isn't saying it's bad to take time off, she's just a creative person (she is art c:) and always wants to be creating stuff, so I guess she has this fear that her beautiful baby might interfere a little. So yeah, oh don't take my response as me attacking you or something, I just wanted to add my opinion on this ^.^

    • @AmberKober
      @AmberKober 8 лет назад +1

      +Lilith bish I get what you're saying. Don't worry, I didn't take it as an attack at all. I'm always prepared for people to be way worse and the worst it usually gets (for me) is strangers on the internet disagreeing with me in a very civil way - actually the worst is probably when someone I don't like or respect agrees with me, that's worse than someone disagreeing with me. Anyway, I'm positive my reaction to this video has more to do with me than it does with her though, as do most things. I still can't figure out exactly what it is that made me feel that way though.

      @srebrenkapavlakovic2575 8 лет назад +2

      +Amber Kober I'm sorry about the ickiness -- but I think you have a point. I love Amanda and still think she is trying a bit too hard. And I also understand her. When I had my first baby in college, my first reaction was: I *will* finish my education with a baby. And then, when I had the second, I *will* finish it with two! And I did. But it took a lot of me saying to myself and to others that I could do it. Not because I thought it was bad not to generally, but because it was bad for *me* not to. I thinks it boils down to having different types of mums. None of us is right about how other mums should be or what they should do. We are, in the greatest number of cases, completely right about how we ourselves as mums should be and do.
