One of my most favorite dances ever! The way they use the scenery as props is supreme! Even their costumes was very thought out to the socks and shoes of Danny Kaye.
@@blue-dragon31652 I agree 100% ! Danny and Vera were incredible, and their use of props and the fact that the scenery was built into the dance is amazing! Not to mention, yes, the costumes; I LOVE Vera's dress haha
I always loved the masterful choreography from the original West Side Story, and how the brawls were structured like dance routines. Hats off to Jerome Robbins!
Vera Ellen's Mandy number from White Christmas totally should have made this list. 💖 She was such a phenominal dancer and unfortunatley greatly underappreciated.
Seeing The Barn Dance from Seven Brides for Seven Brothers on this list makes me sooooo happy!!! Sad not to see any of the dances from White Christmas on here though! Vera Ellen is sooo good!!
I think the "Dancing in the Dark" scene from Bandwagon should have at least been an honorable mention. The dancing showing two people working through differences to find their mutual attraction is simple and yet breathtaking.
Gene Kelly was my best friend’s uncle when I was a kid. He would come to her house because his mom lived with them. I was there once when he dropped in. My favorite movie was Anchors Away.
I've read that Elliot Feld (Baby John, the blond kid) was really sick and running a very high temperature when they were filming the "Cool" number and ended up in the hospital after they finished shooting. He went on to become a noted choreographer himself.
How can you talk so much about Gene Kelly and Singin' in the Rain without mentioning Make 'Em Laugh? For me, that's by far the best dance number in the film, probably any film.
Now that i look at this top, i think "Step in time" should've been on it as well. But anywho, happy thursday afternoon Ms Mojo, take care and God bless you, greetings from Colombia.
I love “Cool” from West Side Story, but it feels wrong to place that at the very top of the list. I feel it should be a little lower down. The “Dance at the Gym” sequence from the same movie should at least have an honorable mention. But overall, I say you did the genre justice.
Where are the Busby Berkeley numbers? By placing the camera inside the action in 42nd Street, the man created the way we still shoot musicals and music videos presently. Maybe, he deserves his own countdown.
I was lucky enough to spend some time with Fayard Nicholas once, he told lots of stories, but the most intense one was that he and his brother ended up with both knees and both hips replaced from all the wear and tear they put them through.🙏
Yeah, Bob Fosse (as well as his favourite dancer Ben Vereen) belonged to Broadway, and to Broadway only. Their group kinda shunned the crass commercialism of Hollywood.
Of course, I rarely have agreed with your. picks. I think America from West Side story should have been number one. And you left out the movie Hellzapoppin 1941
Ever noticed How Sikhism and Starwars Jedi and Mandalorians are so Similar? Wepons are a Part of Our Culture just like Mandalorian, they were Helmet we where Turbans, they have a Uniform we Have a Uniform, and just like Jedis believe in the Force, which exists every where In everyone we believe in God/Akaal Purakh with same Panenthestic Beliefs Kind off right? Also there Logos like the Rebel Alliance or the Jedi Temple Guard looks very very Similar to the Sikhi Symbol of Faith (Khanda)

A lot
Cyd Charisse is criminally under appreciated, thanks for acknowledging her here!
Definitely one of the more underrated yet phenomenal talents of her day!
Gene Kelly singing and dancing in the rain, and the whole end dancing sequence from An American In Paris are incredible
ANYTHING with Gene Kelly is incredible!🙌 I love that man so much!😅❤
I could watch Cyd Charisse dance for hours. She was just stunning.
AMEN!!
I love when you watch the movies with ensemble casts and see the same faces who are incredible performers but never got the recognition they deserve.
You know what else should really get credit? Danny Kaye and Vera-Ellen dancing to "The Best Things Happen When You're Dancing" from "White Christmas"🙌
One of my most favorite dances ever! The way they use the scenery as props is supreme! Even their costumes was very thought out to the socks and shoes of Danny Kaye.

Classic Hollywood musicals easily put dancing sequences now to shame
I really think Jumpin’ Jive should have been #1! They dance on every single surface on that set and nail every single part of it!
I wholeheartedly agree with you. The choreography is much more difficult than in any of the other dance routines.
Vera Ellen's Mandy number from White Christmas totally should have made this list. 💖 She was such a phenominal dancer and unfortunatley greatly underappreciated.
The whole Cheek to Cheek sequence in Top Hat puts a smile on your face
I love it but since they used it in the green mile it chokes me up a bit as well. Just gives it another layer.
Any time Fred & Ging wanna dance is fine by me ❤ it's literal perfection
Finally someone recognizes "COOL" for the work of genius it is!!
Seeing The Barn Dance from Seven Brides for Seven Brothers on this list makes me sooooo happy!!! Sad not to see any of the dances from White Christmas on here though! Vera Ellen is sooo good!!
My exact thoughts. I adore 7B7B. Barn dance is one of my favorite scenes. And white Christmas has that amazing number near the end.
I think the "Dancing in the Dark" scene from Bandwagon should have at least been an honorable mention. The dancing showing two people working through differences to find their mutual attraction is simple and yet breathtaking.

This ranking is a delight to watch! 💖
The dancing from The Red Shoes is still so good
Now that i look at this top, i think "Step in time" should've been on it as well. But anywho, happy thursday afternoon Ms Mojo, take care and God bless you, greetings from Colombia.
Also, "Dance of Fury" from the kissing bandit with Ricardo Montalban, Ann Miller and Cyd cirese
In West Side Story, there is also "Gee Officer Krupkee" which is amazing. 🙂
I do think the rotating room from Royal Wedding needed to be on this list
I wish they still made movies like these.
I love the collections you put together, they are the best of the best
The Kiss Me Kate honorable mention has Bob Fosse as one of the featured dancers!
Tony Martin said to me - he always knew when Cyd had been dancing with Fred or Gene. When dancing with Gene - bruises on her body - not so with Fred.
I love “Cool” from West Side Story, but it feels wrong to place that at the very top of the list. I feel it should be a little lower down. The “Dance at the Gym” sequence from the same movie should at least have an honorable mention. But overall, I say you did the genre justice.
Brigadoon is always forgotten on your list...
There are so many dance scenes to choose from, like the wedding and 'Go Home With Bonnie Jean'.
How could you not mention any of White Christmas? Danny Kay was one of the best.
Thanks for finally putting The Red Shoes on one of these lists.
I can’t dance a step that’s why I love watching these
All are wonderful and spectacular. But...I only see Cyd Charisse!
Where are the Busby Berkeley numbers? By placing the camera inside the action in 42nd Street, the man created the way we still shoot musicals and music videos presently. Maybe, he deserves his own countdown.
I love these Hollywood Dance scenes!
I remember the first time I saw the barn dance. My jaw was on the floor.
I once choreographed a piece that paid homage to "Cool", done to "Hyperactive," by Thomas Dolby.
Very very great epic list I like it a lot very very great job mis mojo one of my absolute favorite list ever 😊❤
I was lucky enough to spend some time with Fayard Nicholas once, he told lots of stories, but the most intense one was that he and his brother ended up with both knees and both hips replaced from all the wear and tear they put them through.🙏
ANYTHING with Gene Kelly ❤❤❤
Not even an honorable mention for "Marian" in "The Music Man" ? The library dance sequence is creative and fun!
Chan & Jenna, no doubt ❤
Nothing from White Christmas or Give a Girl a Break?
Why wasn't the dance scene on It's a Wonderful Life not on this?
If you’re mentioning the “Dream Ballet”, you should also mention OKLAHOMA. That came out before CAROUSEL
Yeah, Bob Fosse (as well as his favourite dancer Ben Vereen) belonged to Broadway, and to Broadway only. Their group kinda shunned the crass commercialism of Hollywood.
Cud doing anything
When did movies from the 60s become "classic"?
Of course, I rarely have agreed with your. picks. I think America from West Side story should have been number one. And you left out the movie Hellzapoppin 1941
Laurey's ballet from Oklahoma was somehow missed.
How could you leave out the ballet from Oklahoma?
Nobody dances like that anymore. They perform lewd gestures and call it dance. Ugh! Gotta love Gene Kelly!

Shouldn't they have already posted a video for only murders in the building season 3. What the hold up?
