I'm a V8 guy through and through. But I'm ultimately also a car guy and a gear head, so eco-stangs still pique my interest. For a four-cylinder, this sounds pretty good - reminds me a little of the old SRT-4 Neons from back in the mid-2000s...which would make sense, given that they didn't actually have mufflers, and the outlaw kit is essentially straight-piping the car lol
Ok after much research and watching this video i decided to do this same setup but with a different brand of ypipe. I have had this setup for 6 months now and couldn't recommend it more. It sounds very good while also giving a nice rumble when accelerating, with very little drone. It is pretty loud but not crazy loud. When stepping on it the engine screams which I really like. I have gotten many compliments on the sound saying that it is the best sounding Eco boost they have heard. If you are on the edge about buying this i can assure you that you will love this exhaust setup. The video truly does not due it justice.
@@eeee3202 i used a y pipe that my local muffler shop had installed long before I got the axle back. I got the axle back because the y pipe wasn’t enough
Great video! I think this is the only if not the best combo for the ecoboost hands down. I’ve been looking around for months for the best exhaust or axle back combo from all brands and this is the best one. The mbrp race is the second best but upon close examination it actually has a “import” sound that I don’t dig in my opinion. I will also do this combo for my Stang. You made the best choice. Congratulations!
Dig your vids man I like the style, straight to the point👌🏼 Getting this set up specifically because you have posted the most sound clips from the outside, just need some fly by’s of it
Thanks man! I appreciate it! Very cool! I think you will like it. I definitely like it with the y pipe. I should have done some flybys in this video! I’ll have to post some soon
Your newest video had the launch sound which sounded pretty awesome, just actually ordered the two parts, I wasn’t able to get the black tips I wanted though 😔
Great buy and getting rid of the resonator. Everyone’s taste is different and it’s whatever you like. I have a Cobb down pipe, MRT resonator delete ,and Corsa axle back. Piecing it together works! Good luck.
can you still switch through the track modes, like in some situations i need to leave it on quiet so i’m just wondering if it still gets quieter after swiping from sport or does it sound the same on all track apps
Do you have the active exhaust? If so this exhaust will not work with the active exhaust system. For cars like mine without the active exhaust the drive modes do not change the sound of the exhaust. Hopefully that helps! 🙂
Thank you, we have the 2021 eco boost and have been struggling with deciding on an exhaust kit to accomplish that deep sound and you got it!!! Please can you share links to purchase as well 😊
Nope nothing like that! Gas mileage is the same. I didn’t touch the down pipe so there shouldn’t be any difference with a catback system or axle back. Just sound. Thanks for watching!
@@daily_driven man honestly probably just go with an eBay downpipe they're all 3-inch downpipes and the tubing looks identical as the expensive downpipes the main thing I need to get is the oil catch cans these cars have a lot of blow by when I swapped out my intercooler I had a good bit of oil in it
When adding the y pipe did u have to do any cutting? I just bought a 2015 ecoboost and want to do an exhaust but I also want to be able to put my stock system back on when I go to dealer for warranty purposes.
If you buy the y pipe and the axle back no cutting required! I bought the axle back first so I cut my factory exhaust to fit that but if you do both at the same time your good! 👍

I’ve never heard this with my own ears other than through videos and have been trying to find a system that sounds *as close* to a GT’s deep tones as possible - would you describe this setup as being as close to a GT as possible on the market? Cheers
I do! That would be nice! Yeah I should have. To be honest the install after removing the factory unit is plug and play. Except aligning the tips again that took a bit.
I had my Flowmaster Y-pipe installed this week on my 2019 Mustang Eco convertible along with the Flowmaster Axle back that I had installed previously. I noticed a change in the temperature when looking at my dashboard Gauges. Can you please go over the main 3 Gauges (Air/Fuel Ratio, Cylinder Head Temp and Inlet Air Temp) and tell us what are the good numbers to see there and if the Y-Pipe is the reason behind those numbers changing ?
I noticed a change in the Air/Fuel Ratio and also a change in the Inlet Air temp (I have an Airaid cold air intake installed) Appreciate you answered man.. Keep up the good work, big fan.
Hey Rex, I installed the same parts that you see in these videos (Flowmaster Outlaw Axleback and Flowmaster Scavenger y-pipe) all good at this point though, i am not seeing any issues.
@@jadabouhamad7558 Good to know since most of the aftermarket kits wont clear that huge brace the convertibles have. Already had to return one kit for clearance issues.
Really interested in getting this kit for my daughter’s ecoboost. Did you have to tune your mustang to get rid of the check engine light? Or after installing this kit everything worked properly?
Awesome! No this setup does not require a tune and should not cause a check engine light. If you change out the down pipe for a catless down pipe then you would need a tune. I’m actually working on a review video now of my current exhaust setup with more exhaust clips than this one! Coming soon!
I was planning on doing the same scenario like you with buying axle back first then a y pipe. Do you know if Borla atak Axial back can do the same thing as outlaw? Keep up the videos for the eco-boost they really help a lot especially for someone like me who haven't even had the ecoboost for six months
I have heard great things about the borla Atak as well! I’m sure you can replace the stock resonator with that setup as well. Not sure if it would line up with the atak but CVF makes a good y pipe as well. Thanks! I appreciate you watching. Enjoy the ecoboost!
No tune required for y pipe and axle back. If you get a downpipe you would want to get a pro tune. PD tuning would be my recommendation, they do great work! I’ll get getting a tune from them soon.
No problem! An axle back or even a cat back exhaust shouldn’t void your warranty. A downpipe with tune most likely would. However they still would need to prove the problem was caused by you installing a tune and downpipe before voiding your warranty.
I would say the Pro is it definitely makes your exhaust more aggressive, i personally like the sound with the flowmaster outlaws. The negative would be added interior vibration with removing the resonator. But it’s all what you prefer 🙂
Cat-back won't do that unless you make some serious mistakes with installation & touch things you shouldn't when installing a cat-back. And same thing with the warranty. The only thing you're voiding on the warranty is anything with the resonator and the mufflers - obviously, since you're literally cutting them off the car lol
I just used the stock clamp that connected the stock downpipe to the stock resonator. The piping is the same size on the scavenger y pipe. Thanks for watching!
Technically no, the only reason I went with the scavenger y pipe is because it was designed to fit the outlaw axle back. East plug and play. I’m guessing the CVF y pipe would would just as well but might not line up perfectly without a little more work.
