IMO, one of the best, or possibly the VERY best, Netflix movie has to be, "The Perfection."
As far as "What Dreams May Come," it's dark and sad, but it also has joy and redemption at the end. Now, "One Hour Photo," THAT was relentlessly dark, with absolutely no redemption for anyone at the end.
Having said that, I will add I've only seen WDMC once. It was far too emotional for me to watch again.
    "The Machinist" is just brilliant.

I had Level 16 show up as a recommendation, so I'm glad to see you recommend it as well. If you're looking for some more documentaries, Black Holes, The Edge of all we Know and Tread are 2 I liked for vastly different reasons. Tread is about how a man, who wasn't a saint himself, may respond to getting pushed down and Black Holes appealed to the geek in me.

Watched Level 16 last night based on your recommendation. You are right, it was a clever movie. You said the low budget kind of shows and I suppose you are right to a certain degree but it also fits in with part of the story and I think it works. When I think of low budget, I usually expect stiff acting, odd lighting (too bright, too dark), weird editing, etc. This movie had very few points that I would say "Oh man, they should have thrown some more money at that".
I also watched Kate last night. It's new on Netflix. If you like John Wick, watch this one.

The Last Blockbuster is a nice documentary about just that, the last Blockbuster. It does give a bit of history but for those of us who remember going to Blockbuster on a regular basis, there is a ton of nostalgia. The look, the smell, browsing the various titles, hovering by the return counter to see if the hit movie of the week was returned but not returned back to the shelf, getting one movie for me and one for my wife... It is a good movie to watch.

When I was 16 years old, I saw a movie on the shelf at my local convenience store. It had Robin Williams in it and so without knowing what is was all about, I rented it and went home and watched it. It was not what I was expecting by a long shot but it's an amazing movie. I have still never watched it since though and probably never will be able to bring myself to watch it again. Everyone needs to see it at least once though.

@FlickConnection I’m a huge fan of your recommendations in fact you’ve given me some pretty good stuff to watch in the past like Boss Level on Hulu which, I absolutely loved because I’m a huge gamer and also a huge fan of Frank Grillo.
I wanted to recommend a really fun haunted house based horror movie to put on your Halloween recommendations list this year if you’ve never seen it or haven’t recommended it in the past too many times, this movies called Haunt.
It’s a great compact and tight haunted house horror flick where basically these teenagers go to a “extreme” haunted house and end up getting locked in with these sadistic killers that are hunting them down in this locked haunted house attraction.
Is it the most original concept ever? No, not really but, if you have shudder it is a really fun one to watch in fact, it may be one I’ll rewatch myself this October since it’s been awhile since I saw it the first time and I absolutely loved it for what it was the last time I watched it.

One of the best horror films I’ve seen and I’m anticipating Titane by the same director more than any film in a long time. Prospect IS on Netflix and one of the best sci-fi thrillers I’ve seen in a long time. Those are my offerings. Keep up the great work

Captain Fantastic, What Dreams May Come & The Machinist would be the ones i'd recommend folks mot to miss.
The ones i'm gonna watch from the list are The Take, Budapest & Headshot.
And if u can find Very Bad Things (1998) it's a great flick, kinda in the same ilk as Hangover but goes in a different direction with it, i don't wanna hype it so i'll just say who's in it. Christian Slater, Jon Favreau, Cameron Diaz, and so many more character u will recognise.....it's a wild ride and one not to be missed 👍

“Not your favorite kind of story in a western movie”, so what *is* your favorite kind of story in a western or an example of a western that has some of your favorite western story elements?
I think my favorite kind of western tropes are “self conflicted to do the right thing”, “grade-a gunslinger hotshot”, “heists”, “alabaster beauties”, “main character with a sense of humor”, “robinhood-eque” and “rivals.” And of course a good soundtrack never hurt. To give an example, “my name is nobody.”

I heard about The Take when it first came out but then never again. I've heard simply wonderful things about Captain Fantastic, but again that one didn't stick around in the theaters long enough for me to check out.
What Dreams May Come is one of my very favorite movies but I have never been able to bring myself to watch it a second time. The visuals are indeed amazing but so is Robin Williams's performance.
The Outlaw Josie Wales became an instant legend for me and my friends when it first came out in the theaters. Odd long story with the most amazing cast of characters, I mean this movie just doesn't stop!
And, of course, Midnight Run is an absolute classic. Anytime anyone mentions Charles Grodin my mind goes right for this movie. Grodin and DeNiro at their very best, with excellent chemistry, in a 'road' movie that's an absolute hoot!
Yeah, I've heard of a few of these…

I don't recall ever unsubscribing from your channel. I've always watched your content and enjoy it. Weird!

I've already seen a couple of these flicks, but I'm thinkin' that I might have to check out that "Time To Hunt". That looks interesting.

Yeah, this will be bookmarked for some time. Oh, Outlaw best of Eastwood imo.

Captain fantastic just watched and HIGHLY ENJOYED AND RECOMMEND. Heard about it years ago because of the sweet child of mine song and never watched the movie. Thank you for reminder!!!

I agree about midnight run! I also enjoyed the take no where as good but fun to watch.

In Midnight Run, just the shot of Deniro flashing his freshly stolen badge to absolutely no one on the street and the look on his face never fails to kill me. It's maybe 2 seconds long and I love it.

Probably not a finer actor than Deniro. It's a shame he's such a douche in real life

Awesome recommendations as usual... I think it's time to get a 4K camera for your uploads though ;)

Thank you for exposing me to South Korean movies, I always thought they only do cheesy romantic flicks due to K-pop but after Parasite, I now give them a fair chance. Only problem I don't know any South korean movies, that's where you come in man thanks 👍👍

Darkest Robin Williams movie is World's Greatest Dad, directed by the genius Bobcat Goldthwait. Highly recommended.
