I'm your host, Darren Van Dam!
Tired of looking for good movies to watch on Netflix, Amazon Prime or other streaming services? Every week I recommend a handful of the best movies on Netflix, Amazon, HBO etc. so my subscribers never run out of good movies to watch on streaming. Spending 10 minutes watching one of my videos could save you hours of searching, hours that you could otherwise spend watching good movies on streaming that you otherwise might not have ever watched or even known about.
Thanks for watching!

I love Time Lapse!! I cane across it on an accident but I love it, it makes you think and the reveal is awesome!! I wish there was a 2nd one
Thank you so much for sharing a list as well,
That help ❤️˘◡˘❤️
sucks to live in Brazil, 95% of these titles are not available here 😭😭😭
Dude, the Red Green show was brilliant. Awesome of you to bring it up.
@@dhanib Huge congrats on your election, though. No matter who you voted for, at least the Bolsonaro had the grace to accept the verdict. Now your country is becoming a shining example of democracy, maybe more so than the US.
One of the things about Tubi that I like is that when they ads do play, they aren't suddenly and incredibly loud, like others do. Nothing like watching a movie then suddenly having a commercial screaming at you and rushing to turn the volume down, then having to turn it back up again when the movie starts. That never happens with Tubi.
There used to be a trick for skipping the commercials but they fixed it.
Also, their commercial breaks are actually quite short and sparsely timed
@@Steve_P_B I disagree. They've bumped up the larger clusters from six to seven when I watch movies, but I can't complain for a free film!
@@jonanjello maybe it's your region or something but where I am, it's not that much
..GOT THAT right.
Here are 20 more.
20) Harley Davidson and The Marlboro Man (1991) - Micky Rourke and Don Johnson
19) Swamp Thing (1982) - An early super hero movie that is good.
18) The Point (1971) - For the kids
17) Assault on Precinct 13 (1976) - Prisoners and Cops banned together
16) A Fistful of Dollars (1966) - First installment of the Dollars Trilogy
15) The Blue Bird (1940) - Shirley Temple seeks the bird that will bring her family joy
14) The Blob (1958) - Horror shlock at its finest.
13) Barabbas (1962) - What happened to the man freed instead of Jesus
12) Nosferatu (1922) - The first Dracula movie
11) The Red House (1947) - An old man is concealing a terrible secret from their adopted teen daughter
10) White Lighting (1973) - Burt Reynolds as a whiskey running
9) Throw Mamma From the Train (1987) - two stranger plot murder for each other
8) The Lighthouse (2018) - Two lighthouse keepers battle a storm and each other.
7) Cape Fear (1962) - The original an attorney is tormented by a former client.
6) Support Your Local Gunfighter (1971) - Fun Western
5) My Name is Nobody (1973) - Fun western but very different
4) Go Ask Alice (1973) - Teenage girl trap by addiction
3) The Road (2009) - A man and his son try to survive the apocalypse
2) Conan The Barbarian (1982) - Classic Arnold
1) The Magnificent Seven (1959) - Classic Western
Wow, ❤ love your list. What is your Tube address?
Great list! The Lost Room is on Tubi which is a very different Sci Fi? Fantasy? Thriller. Sort of a mini series three or four parts.
Fistful of Dollars and it’s sequels are legendary, cinematic masterpieces made by the incomparable Sergio Leone. Soundtracks almost as great by the equally amazing Ennio Morricone.
Honestly tubi somehow always ends up being my go to for all types of horror. Even after halloween I was having a fun day off work horror binge. Some of the ones I enjoyed : midnight meat train , rec 1, dead silence , be my cat ( film for Anne), lake Mungo etc. Sure maybe some of these movies aren't perfect but they Sure were fun.
Tubi has been killing it for a while now. I've been recommending them for over a year now.
As a lifetime member of the Possum Lodge, I can't express how thrilled I was to find the Red Green Show on Tubi.
I wish they had the whole series on Tubi
@@Strongbad251 they're sorry and will try to change.... They guess.
Tubi saved me from clawing my eyes out back in 2020 when all we could do was watch stuff I’m happy to see 2 years later tubi has gotten much better😊
I love that you always provide a complete list of the movies you review. You have put at least half a dozen movies into my "to watch" list in the last week.
It has been almost a year since I deactivated my Netflix subscription and indeed Tubi has been great for filling-in for it and supplementing my cable line-up. Thank you for keeping us up to date with its latest and greatest.
I dropped NFlix months ago. No regrets. Thanks, Tubi!
They Live has the most iconic line in any movie. I have come here to kick ass and chew bubblegum. And I am all out of bubblegum. Always makes me smile
WWG1-WGA.......Tick Tock Cabal, well those of you who are left i should say !😎
They Live also has one the best kick ass fight scenes between the late great Rowdy Roddy Piper and Keith David!
The Enforcer - "That's mighty white of you".
Love your content and suggestions. I almost only watch movies that you recommend these days. However, a few of these movies are not available on Tubi and this upload is only 17 hours old at the time of my comment. Some that I wanted to watch that are not available are Darkman and They Live. Thank you and keep up the great work.
"Midnight Cowboy" on Tubi!! One of my all-time favorites. Thanks Darren!
I love it too! I loved the city when 42nd street was still wall to was porn theaters with titles like, 'The Devil in Miss Jones' ('73) and 'Deep Throat' ('72).. it was literally a dirty filthy place..
@@ValdezJu Yup....and Midnight Cowboy realistically captures the dirty, grittiness of NYC at the time. The perfect movie with the perfect cast, never tire of watching this classic dysfunctional buddy movie.
Random compliment- I like your ad reads. You do it better than many RUclipsrs.
Nice long video. I enjoyed the diversity of the movies. Great work. Good morning 🌞.
"The Frighteners" definitely underrated.
I agree 100%. It is one of my all-time favorite movies!
You hit many of my favorites with this one! Buffalo '66, Both Raimi films, Grindhouse (which I saw at the drive-in), and They Live (My favorite Carpenter film.)
That scene in Midnight Cowboy "I'm Walkin here" was improve on the spot. That Taxi was real. Back in the day so I read. They just filmed in the streets and that was not in the script but was one of the most iconic lines ever.
Had to edit because I hit send to soon: They Live is an awesome movie. It's one of my 80's guilty pleasure movies. It rates right up there with 1982 The Thing.
Never even heard of 'Memories' before but that looks like exactly my thing.
Edit - just hopped on to Tubi and I see 'Cabin in the Woods' probably a top 5 movie of the 2010's for me. How does Tubi do it?
Thanks for the "heads up" on Red Green!! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Red!! No idea his show was on there. As for tubi, watched a classic last night. Bronson, in Hard Times. Great flick! Highly recommend it to anyone whom has not watched it. Seemed to be a minimum of commercials, too!
I'm an "indie/foreign film junkie". Have been for over 4 decades. While I always like your "pic's", whether I'm really interested in them , or not, I must make 1 comment. I saw Buffalo 66 at one of the "art flick houses" in my town, the week it was released, after rave reviews. Don't hardly ever 'pan' a movie such as this, but I must say, all I got from it was "a depressed feeling". Acting was adequate, I guess, but as a film, it did nothing for me. I watch all you reviews, & the only other film, I found to be so depressing was "Killing of A Sacred Deer"*. Yeah, "that depressing". 😢Just me, I guess.
*full disclosure: COULD NOT finish this, as TOO depressing
Last thing. Seen most of these, except "Memories". Going to watch it tonight. (closet anime fan) 😉
Another great video! Thanks, DvD!
As always, great recommendations. Never heard of a few of these, but I'm a big Tubi fan. I'll check them out.
The way you described “Brawl In Cellblock 99” put me in mind of “Come To Daddy” with Elijah Wood- it seemed like it kept topping itself with craziness every couple of minutes. I’m going to watch “Brawl…” on your recommendation- Thanks!
Sponsor!!!! Lets go!!!! Congrats Darren!!!! 💯💯💯
Damn, thanks brother, have seen Tubi promoted for years and never thought much about it, I already have too many subscriptions. Really appreciate the call out, getting connected now!
In "Bernie", you have to watch the after credits interview between Jack Black and the real Bernie. You'll be shocked by how much he channelled that guy.
Cheap Thrills surprised me. I really liked it. Tubi is becoming my favorite streaming service.
After that first bet in the bar I knew it was gonna turn into a dark comedy. Never saw the trailer, I just randomly hit play and I love it.
I watched it on a whim a couple years ago and thought it was very good.
Dude. I just want to say thanks from the bottom of my movie cockles. You apparently have a very similar taste in movies but also have a huge range that I really appreciate. You make my streaming life easier. Sometimes I just call you Damitt VanDamm cause you are so on point all the time. I watch another banger and say "Damitt VanDamm!, He did it again"
@flickconnection ❣️is my go to hands down🙋🏾♀️ NO ADs ,pause, rewind, fast-forward a minute and bam no ads keep close attention to your time lapses. It works for me,hope it works for people who HATE ADS LIKE ME.🤷🏾♀️
I loved Time Lapse and have recommended it for years. Good list thanks.
Darren Van Dam is a silver fox! They're rare. =)
Darren Van Dam has a twin--Richard Rawlins--the car guy--used to have his own show. They are spookily similar.
You really go the extra mile Daz, especially with the top pinned comment. I get so frustrated with other channels that are to quick when film names, they don't list them and don't have the name or year shown on their videos. I don't bother with any of those now. My top 10 list of movie recommendation channels goes like this.
1. Flick Connection.
Love these selections! I haven't watched a lot of them, so I'm excited to dive into these.
I am LOVING TUBI right now. It's the only service I've been using for everything. Movies, stand up specials, TV shows for binge watching and they have endless options for documentaries that I've never seen.... which is saying a lot.
Excellent presentation, Darren. Keep up the good work and catch you again 💎👌💎
Red Green Show for the win! What a classic good time that is! Definitely checking it out this weekend.
You had me at "Red/Green Show"...
The titles are cover up "includes paid promotions"..please fix that..love this channel! Saves time.
The Frighteners
Repo Men
Darkman
Drag Me to Hell
Death Proof/Planet Terror
They Live
Das Boot - watched this and subtitles did not bother me at all - INCREDIBLE movie!
Thank you for doing these movie suggestions! You never cease to amaze! Love the channel!
I LOVE Tubi!
Me too!
I'd also recommend "Still Crazy'. Perhaps one of the warmest and funniest rock n roll movies ever. Well cast, well paced, It even has an impressive original soundtrack.
Das Boot is an excellent movie. They got the cramped feel by actually building the central parts of a real u-boat. The story is that the film makers went to Blohm and Voss in Germany, wanting to see if they had kept any plans from WWII for a u-boat. They sort of said "Oh? Like these?" and opened a drawer full of plans. They even made a full sized u-boat for the external shots and it could move under it's own power and "mostly" submerge.
Hello from Canada! Stumbled across your video by chance. After watching it, I put on my watch lists on Tubi and Prime Video six of the movies you recommended. Thanks for your recommendations - Tubi RULES!
Thanks Darren !
Great job as usual !
Just discovered your channel recently. I had heard of Tubi but never new about it's content until now, thanks! I agree totally about Das Boot, have watched it a few times. Buffalo 66 is great too, saw it premier at Sundance the year it came out. Vincent Gallo is a very interesting fellow, he sure turned alot of people in Hollywood off. So many of the others I don't know & look forward to watching, thanks again!
Tubi also has a great selection of classic films from all eras. Especially some forgotten gems from the 1970's. I just watched Stay Hungry (1976) with Jeff Bridges, Sally Field and Arnold Schwarzenegger. Fun and completely weird.
Great list. So happy to see the phenomenal Das Boot is Number 1 on your list!
These are my kind of movies - don’t know where to start! Thanks for the heads up!
I appreciate your work! Thank you, Darren.
Thanks so much for the region information - it really helps !
You can watch Red Green on their RUclips Chanel, without ads.Well I never seen a ad on RUclips.
The Handy's Man Secret Weapon: Duct Tape! Love the Red Green Show!
We're here for this. Thank you! 🤝
Right on!
The movie "They Live" is one of my all time fav sci-fi movies. I was wondering if it would make the cut.
Same 🎉
Love your work buddy, I would just like to let you know not a single movie here on this amazing list is streaming on TUBI Australia. No worries!😉
Oren’s Special Blend was my go-to pick at their old shop in New York’s Grand Central.
Extraterrestrial leaves Tubi in 2 days, I need to jump in and watch that fast. Fantastic list!
As long as you keep making these Tubi videos, I’m going to keep recommending The Quiet Earth. It’s a really great movie and I think it would be right up your ally.
I remember that one...an aussie film I believe...very good one
Thanks a lot i thought I’ve seen most good movies but I haven’t seen a few of these yet
I would like to add, as a tubi user, the ads are very minimal. 30 seconds to 1 minute of ads per half hour episode of a tv show and generally very unobtrusive
Its a dam shame Rowdy Roddy didn't get more movie roles
He died far too young, my friend.
Damn gonna have to watch Red Green show on Tubi. Was wanting it for christmas.
Great selection as always.
Red Green show was awesome. My boys loved it when they were young (now in their 30's). They still recite the Man's Prayer "I'm a man, but I can change, if I have to, I guess..." 🤙
I forgot that...awesome!
I LOVE The Nines. I'm constantly showing it to anyone i can get to sit still for 90 minutes. Thanks SO MUCH for recommending!
And Ink too. You're exceeding expectations today!
Time Lapse is great. Up there with Time Crimes and Primer.
Wow I hated both of those movies, especially Time Crimes.
@@khambrelgreen Wow I loved both those movies. Especially Time Crimes.
@@georgeiscooking.1152, as you seem to like time bending movies what did you think of 2014's Predestination? I have enjoyed watching that film a few times.
ive always loved time lapse i always felt like the only one though
@@khambrelgreen Very cool flick! I knew we'd agree on something. CHEERS!
Das Boot is free on RUclips now. Hi Darren !!! 🍀
I saw "das boot" in the theater in 1981. Awesome flick!
The Nines was great. Saw it a while back. I’ll rewatch it tonight.
Thank you! Love your videos.
Just placed my first order from Trade using your link. I've been drinking La Colombe for a few years now and their coffee is excellent, but I've tried all they have to offer and I'm looking forward to trying some new coffees. Thanks man!
Otherlife was a fantastic recommendation! Thanks for all you do!
One of my favorite college roommates turned me on to Buffalo ‘66. He had a thing for Christina Ricci. Don’t we all. I’d totally forgotten about this little gem.
Hey darren. Thanks for bringing so many recommendations, which otherwise would be impossible to explore on my own.
I would like to recommend you to watch 'timecrime', a 2007 Spanish movie. It's a fairly low budget but an intelligently made movie. Include it in ur recommendations in future if u like it.
I always get a pen out for your recommendations, have to agree here about Time Lapse being very good and Cheap Thrills is a must see. However, you also recommend Ink!
I love Ink!
Ink is one of my favorite movies ever!
“Das Boot”, excellent #1 pick, helps if you are a little claustrophobic. Weird, but I found myself in my mind rooting for this crew, especially when they are being depth charged into oblivion. Great pick!
I was so sad when "INK" left Netflix in around 2013ish. I've never seen anyone talk about it and no one I know has even heard of it. Its definitely a must see! And "MEMORIES" is very STUDIO GHIBLI so it's awesome.
that was great saw some movies you listed that i wanted to see but didint remember there name., i watch tubie a lot i love it
Great list thanks
Thanks Darren. Jumping on Tubi rn to watch Extraterrestrial!!
In "They Live" Roddy Piper was terrific in that roll. R.I.P. Mr Piper, a great entertainer in and out of the ring.
Darren, I checked out Tubi and what you reported is absolutely true. They have the best movie list I’ve seen. So, I sat down to watch a good sci fi flick. Within ten minutes, up popped the first commercial. Ten minutes between commercials are too much for me to stomach. It’s a reason I dumped HULU too. I can wait for the inevitability of these good movies to arise on either Netflix, Prime, or HBO plus and avoid the misery of two minutes of commercials every ten.
I really like the movie Cheap Thrills a lot! I discovered it recently and have watched it twice within a few weeks.
I just watched Mortal Engines on Tubi, a must must see, imo. Great effects, and story. But thanks for all these.
Been trying to find "Kafka" with Jeremy Irons. Haven't been able to find it since VHS.
I think I see what's going on here. RUclips monitors Darren's posts and immediately starts charging for anything he recommends, movies that were free until he mentioned them. I find this really despicable and greedy, since I'm already paying about $13 a month for ad-free RUclips. This is infuriating.
Their algorithms seem to be written by small children. Maybe they charge after X number of watches - that would kind of mimic their model for channels
I use a free ad blocker on my home computer and can watch RUclips without distraction on my desk computer. Works great and stops 99% of all ads on everything.
@@thaboomer53
Same. Brave works just fine for me...
i also pay for ad free youtube and i didnt realize they were doing that...i agree its greedy
@@roel.vinckens does this only work for PC? Just curious is this would do the same for my android.
Very surprised they missed "Bad Times at the El Royale".
YES! I just watched that, SO good.
Just watched "Rollerball" with James Caan on Tubi. No need to buy the blu-ray. Not one second of CGI anywhere-- you can tell they're really playing the game. The women in the party sequence are gorgeous.
Damn!!! that's a really cool T-Shirt!!!
.. THANKS,. :)

If you want an Anime pick (new one)... watch Cyberpunk: Edgerunners (Darren)
I'm not a big MJ Fox fan, but The Frighteners is amazing and so is he. It's just a wild ride. One of my Tubi favorites (not on this list) is The Proposition with Guy Pearce, Ray Winstone and the goddess Emily Watson.
Great list! The 3+ hour version of Das Boot is much better. Believe it or not.
I like the choice of ads on Tubi. All real products and not scams, poor quality financial infomercial, and alternative medicine.
I love Tubi. I had NetFlix for month and couldn't find anything that made me want to continue with a monthly charge except "Longmire". There are so many great things on Tubi. One Australian TV series I really found excellent was "RUSH" and there are others like "Sea Patrol" too. The characters are what make these two series worth watching.
I love Ink. I have it on DVD. So I'm surprised I missed Frame. Going to check it out ASAP.
A 2014 movie called "The Dark Valley" was a film that surprised me by how good it was. I was so glad I took the time to watch it. If you have a chance can you do a vid on this one? Thx Bro
I've tried to find They Live and Darkman on Tubi and I couldn't find them. Are they not available in some US regions? I'm about to watch Brawl in Cell Block 99.
Thank you for the amazing job, Darren.
Greetings from Colombia, South America!!!
I have them, man. Just checked via my tablet n my xbone to confirm there weren't any content issues depending on streaming platforms
@@nmc9x23 Where in the US are you?
Hey Darren, Love your cannel. Very professionally done, and it helps immensly on thise nights when I'm muttering to myself "Ten thousand channels, and I can't find anything to watch" The tiniest of nitpicks......... you use the word gem a lot. Kinda like "Huge" or "great" with a certain former president. {Just can't think of his name right now..... )
I gotta start spellchecking before I hit send........
Good job. Thanks!
I just watched Extraterrestrial. It's brilliant!
Edit: it is available on Tubi in Canada.
Wow, I was just thinking of The Frighteners the other day, a funny movie I haven't seen in many years and forgot the name of. I didn't even know it was a Peter Jackson film! I'm going to rewatch it. Tubi really is knocking it out of the park right now with all these great films.
