I keep seeing this same comment from different people about him singing and playing drums at the same time. I don’t know if it’s just non-musicians saying it. Drums are the easiest instrument to play and sing at the same time and really any percussive instrument like the piano too. You sing your lines and bars starting on a hit. Bass guitar is by far the hardest to sing and play, not that blink 182 style bass, but real bass and lead guitar. This is coming from a guy who toured for 5 years, played for 23 years and main instruments are bass and guitar. By saying that I’m not downplaying Anderson paak’s talent at all because he’s a badass.

I know im late with this but the Free Nationals were his band almost since the beginning.

just found this - almost a full year after it was released. Thanks Bruno Mars for helping alleviate such a talented group of musicians into the zeitgeist. The grooves are literally needed at this juncture in our times. I listen to older music when I am in need of comfort - the production is all instruments and tried-and-trued production values/techniques that always make the music sound timeless.
This warmed my heart, because I also listen to older music for comfort during these times, and have been so grateful to hear this stellar artist, who seems to be some kind of prater-natural multi-talented groove doctor. lol.
