Yes they have around the same expectation, they're both made to be turn up albums you don't have to think about. The reason logic is scored much lower is because Logic doesn't do it nearly as well as those other artists.

The reason he calls these mixtapes "Bobby Tarantino" is because he takes influence and pays homage to other rappers on these projects. Tarantino is known for literally taking shots from movies he loves and making them his own, that's kinda what Logic is trying to do on this project.

This tape isn't supposed to have any lyrical depth, it's just shit to throw on in the background, maybe at a social hangout/party. I have a friend who just listens to mainstream trap shit, and he thinks this tape is dope. Because that's what it's made for. Although, having watched you for a couple years, it's understandable that you wouldn't like this tape, it makes sense. But, I just think considering what Logic was going for? I think he nailed it.

At the end of the day, this tape was for the fans, and has been very we’ll received by them. Objectively it has it’s downfalls, it’s nothing groundbreaking in hip hop as a whole, and there isn’t a great deal of substance, but it wasn’t intended to be cutting edge or deep, it was intended to give the fans something to get them by while he works on his next full album. And with that in mind, the tape is a success. When Logic tries to give a message, he gets called fake deep, when he’s just trying to have some fun and turn up, he gets called basic and lacking in substance. It’s an easy listen with excellent production and shouldn’t be taken too seriously.

juanca0322 The whole point of Untitled Unmastered is not to have a consistent message, all of the songs are leftovers, the point of the album is to be sort of random. The Lil Pump album is also sort of like this, the fuck everything attitude for his hyped up songs is the point of his albums. Logics mediocre mixtape is just mediocre, it is supposed to be for the fans to sort of "play in the background" but setting a low bar doesn't make the content better. As for your point on being biased. Of course Anthony is biased all of his videos are opinions and if he does not enjoy an artists music he is not going to except something he enjoys. This could effect his opinion, but remember it's all his opinion.

He didn't complain that it didn't have a message, he just said he wasn't excited when he learned it's a mixtape because he knows Logic's mixtapes are less ambitious than his albums. All Logic’s projects have had weak reviews from you. You know why? Because you keep reaching to see similarities with other artists. Logic has a unique sound and a very distinct voice. Half of the mainstream rappers can’t say the same at all. Then when you were talking about his messages, you were acting like Logic WASN’T the one that blew up with a message. He essentially set that trend, especially since he did it years ago multiple times. You called Logic “young” when he’s older than the average famous rapper age, married, and is retiring after his next album... BT2 was one of his worst projects, this is coming from a Logic fan, but you think so for all the wrong reasons. You misinterpret who he is, how he sounds in the beginning, how he experiments in mixtapes, and what his whole goal is with the mixtape. I’ve listened to it 3 times now. Personally, I’d give it a solid 5/10 simply because I’ve heard a lot of the things he’s talked about (as a fan) and he went the more singing route. He has a wide array of talents, but I like Album Logic better anyway.
logic is the most unoriginal rapper i know. He is technically amazing, but he bites off other rappers flows, beats, and even their concepts. Logic just copies what J cole, Kendrick, Travis scott, eminem have done. He even bites off the new wave by using the triplet flow that the migos and other new wave rappers use. He is incredibly preachy and just shoves his views down your throat, and they're super basic and not profound at all. I love under pressure and TITS but theres no denying that logic is very unoriginal. Songs like everyday and most of the songs from everybody are so hard to listen to and corny. Logic is an amazing rapper, but his creativeness is terrible.

Look, im new to rap, but my understanding so far has been that a mix tape is something that a rapper does to just keep their name out there, like its a snapshot of their general style. Welcome to the genre man, and yea kinda. A mixtape is usually a smaller less polished work from an artist. Logic wouldn't really need to get his name out there, he's very established already. This is more so him just deciding to do something less ambitious and serious, and that's a big part of what melon doesn't like about Logic. The guy has a lot of technical skill, but he doesn't really do all that much with it and doesn't showcase too much creativity often. The big problem here and why the score is so low for this is because Logic isn't doing anything unique here and he's not doing anything new. There are lots of artists making banging turn up tracks that just do it better than this album.
I mean I guess now. Originally, 50 cent vamped the the whole concept of a mixtape. You take other artists beats, mix it a little, and rap over it. If it’s a true mixtape, it’s not going to have original production. That’s kind of the point. Like that song “wassup” samples Kanye & Big Sean’s song “Mercy” a few years back. It pretty much let’s rappers make songs without really needing a producer. And for guys who are really underground to be able to release a lot of content before officially releasing an album - just like Logic. He had like 5 or more mixtapes (where he rapped over a lot old hip hop beats originally by guys like Big L, Nas, and Jay Z) before dropping his first album.

This deserved a 3/10 imo. Only tracks I could really stand were Warm It Up and Indica Badu. Awful hooks throughout, awkward sounding delivery throughout, terrible, TERRIBLE singing throughout (with and without autotune it was all fucking terrible), and weak writing. of course this is 'mixtape Logic' so I shouldnt expect it to be super lyrical but the writing was so bad it hurt my soul so I will use that as a criticism. This is coming from a huge (former) Logic fan, too, he completely lost me after TITS
7/10 for me. This album was soild, but it was sort of decentered. But Logic's rap ability was a huge save for this album. + That album cover is cool as fuck

I felt like the whole point of the BT series was that he just did what was popular for a fun mixtape. Considering Quentin Tarantino has done the same by literally copying whole shots from past movies as a sort of homage. I believe the mixtape is still sub-par tho
I used to be huge logic fan and but now not so much. Under pressure was absolutely amazing in my opinion. Since then every every album has been disappointing to me to a point where i am not even excited for his projects no more. HE does come up with amazing bangers once in while but I can't take this guy seriously anymore. Ever since under pressure came out he has been constantly contradicting some of his most iconic bars.
In Under pressure he says 'Every Diamond in my chain that's a milestone' and 'i wish i spoke to my dad more than my jeweler' and in an interview he says that he never had any jewelry and said he would buy random chains from the mall or something and people would just assume its real
in the under pressure Intro he says 'Im not defined by the sales of my first week but in my mind the only way i fail is if my verse weak' . Then he goes on to say 'i sold one more more than that pop bitch' and 'i sold more albums my first week than harry styles and katy perry' in 44 more.
At the end of the song ink blot it says kill yo muthafucking self and literally ten minutes after that he says You don't gotta die today and i want you to be alive and whatever else.
In the song 44 more more he says 'anybody hating on logic take a step back and then deepthroat' and in yuck he says 'anyone that hate me i wish you success'.
Nevertheless He is extremely talented and is growing more popular which i am very glad about but i idk im kinda disappointed.
I actually liked The Incredible True Story even more than Under Pressure personally, imo it had higher highs (but lower lows) but for the most part I definitely agree with the sentiment of this comment
