He's just pulling this out of ass now because multiple times he has said he was just doing it having fun so it wasn't no damn social experiment, he just put out what he was making at the time
some background on the "side b" stuff: so basically he had said that coadm would be "bobby tarantino meets under pressure" or sumn like that, and then the album drops and it's all mediocre trap. there was fan speculation going around that there are two sides and there will be a second more under-pressure-esque side b dropping, which never happened. but him and his label were adding fuel to the fire by posting cryptic shit in artworks and stuff, kinda confirming the speculation. one of the visual artists that worked closely with him at that time was sharing concept art for the side b and when some time passed and it didn't drop he said it was a social experiment to get fan reaction or prove fans don't appreciate what they get (dumbest shit i've ever heard lol). and yea he was overall going for a satirical record but he missed the mark, like he made "icy" to parody trap hits but gucci did a fire verse and the song came out feeling like logic is getting bodied on his own record. it was more obvious in the music video. there were more cuts like that on the album but i don't remember all the names tbh, but i think the only tracks intended to be taken seriously were the first and last tracks.
Only one of those is genuinely bad which is the one we’re talking about. I don’t even count Supermarket as a Logic album cause it’s like saying that the fucking Black Panther soundtrack is a Kendrick album. It’s a tie in soundtrack for a movie it’s not the same thing.
i mean: as people who have listened to Logic for YEARS & heard every project, are you really gonna tell me that Wannabe, Clickbait, Pardon My Ego, Icy, Cocaine, DBATBD & BOBBY aren't all satirical songs? We been knew COADM was half satirical, half not lols so idk why this tweet is so controversial 💀 i literally remember reading a reddit post two years ago about how certain songs clearly show he's rapping from the perspective of a rapper who's consumed by social media. The music video for Icy adds weight to that theory. The problem with COADM is that it tried to be two things at once. A satirical rap project from the perspective of a rapper consumed by social media & one of Logic's personal reality (the title track, Homicide, Mama/ Show Love, Still Ballin', Limitless, Lost in Translation etc.) & clearly not everyone liked that.
Logic being the kind of guy that raps about how deep he is because he watches Tarantino and Christopher Nolan films and then also uses the “it was just satire” deflection seems about right
When you read his response i interpetted it completely different. In my head he was referring to the idea of a Side B being like that not the CD itself. Since thats what the question was about.
Honestly if he did I’d believe him. Cause I refuse to believe somebody is that bad at making music and nobody has told him that’s close to him to stop yet.
I wonder if Bobby Tarantino 3 was a social experiment as well. Maybe College Park was a social experiment to see how fast an album can make someone fall asleep.
Logic really said "LOL jokes on you I was only pretending to be stupid! I was only pretending to make the worst album of my career lollolol I sure got you!" OK.
People forgetting that in his book Logic said that he genuinely thought COADM was his best project yet, and was really let down when everyone shit on it once it released. I think he also tweeted that he thought it was his best work before it released too.
Your point about it being satirical in a sense that he’s mocking hip hop and rappers being vapid is probably the case, but isn’t that’s how most of the Bobby Tarantino projects are? Doesn’t really add up..
Why does this happen so often... I swear so many bands just try to claim an album/song that they don't personally like anymore or was negatively received was actually satire or a joke (Childish Gambino - Camp, MGMT - Oracular Spectacular, Lorde - Solar Power, De La Soul - Me Myself and I) in some cases I definitely can see it, but most of the time it just seems like artists making up reasons to distance themselves from a certain project

Your brutal honesty kills me lmfao
Logic being the kind of guy that raps about how deep he is because he watches Tarantino and Christopher Nolan films and then also uses the “it was just satire” deflection seems about right
🗿
Logic just doing a little trolling.
lmaaooo
Cody please stand up
logic really said "it was just a prank bro"
When you read his response i interpetted it completely different. In my head he was referring to the idea of a Side B being like that not the CD itself. Since thats what the question was about.
Just when you thought Logic couldn't get cornier, he hits us up with this is 😭
his new song is actually flames
Is this new slang ? I’m old and authentically want to know
@@Kevtron9000 flames/fire > very good
yes it’s a slang lol
@@kevstuhh gang gang
I think he’s saying the hypothetical side b was a social experiment (giving him the benefit of the doubt)
Antony Fanthana:
> hip hop: 1/10
> social experiment: 10/10
After listening to “Vinyl Days” I can confirm COADM was just satire
"so I went back to listen to the album" Lmaaaao got eeeeem
the part where he goes “damn robert, ya got me, i got spoofed” had me DYING
the classic "jokes on you I was only pretending"
Your mustache looks like the pizza hut logo
Logic hit us with "It was a prank, bro" lmao
Logic trying to backtrack on COADM saying "lol it was just satire" is actually so embarrassing 🤦🏽♂️😭
as a dude who loves logic, I truly wish that album never even existed
love the bissexual lighting in the background im just waiting for melon person to drop the hottest video essay of the month
He knew he was gonna come back the whole time.
Can't wait for Corey Feldman to say his whole discography is a social experiment
Honestly if he did I’d believe him. Cause I refuse to believe somebody is that bad at making music and nobody has told him that’s close to him to stop yet.
I thought this was gonna be about how Logic said he was retiring and is constantly releasing music still.
I’m glad you can admit when you lie Anthony
Logic da 🐐 no 🧢
“I didn’t get fired, I quit lololol”
I opened this video thinking "what was logic kidding about?" and 8 minutes later I'm thinking "what was logic kidding about?"
Dear Anthony,
Great video, loved it.
Awwe, this is such a wholesome comment :)
Have a good day marty
That was the best ending to a video that i'll see all year
Logic why did you not just tell us how is it satirical?
He took the "I made a concept album. The concept that it is bad" meme too far.
say hi to logic, we all know he's down here
Thank you Fantman for keeping the streets safe 🙏🏽
Thats it, I'm calling fantano fantman from now on
Dont ever say fantano doesnt do things for us, he re-listened to COADM for us
It is satryical in the sense that icy is a spoof on rappers who flex diamonds and money and such
ahh, the "it's just a prank, bro" defense.
"Logic reveals only biracial people can truly understand his sound."
I wonder if Bobby Tarantino 3 was a social experiment as well. Maybe College Park was a social experiment to see how fast an album can make someone fall asleep.
That's an awfully hot coffee pot...
Bornana
I'm currently drunk as shit. I'd like to thank you for the mind fuck that lasted 2 seconds. Peace
I’d love to see logic’s reaction to this
1:48 u smokin Za fantano ? 👀
“They all think I suck. The plan is coming together.”
logic asked himself with a burner
you're interested in the funniest things Antwan fantwan
That divorce beat his ass
Logic really said "LOL jokes on you I was only pretending to be stupid! I was only pretending to make the worst album of my career lollolol I sure got you!"
OK.
I thought he retired
People forgetting that in his book Logic said that he genuinely thought COADM was his best project yet, and was really let down when everyone shit on it once it released. I think he also tweeted that he thought it was his best work before it released too.
6:36 what is the name of the song?
I understood Logics point completely, it makes sense, I can’t understand why melon didn’t get it
Your point about it being satirical in a sense that he’s mocking hip hop and rappers being vapid is probably the case, but isn’t that’s how most of the Bobby Tarantino projects are? Doesn’t really add up..
Logic reminds me of Vito from sopranos “I was here! It’s a joke!“
That’s such a cringe sad response I genuinely feel bad
He did mention this in the autobiography
Mans obsessed with his own discography talking in third person very eerie
We’re talking about it right now, and people are going back and listening to it because he said this. It’s working
I gotta assume had saying that just because people hated the album
If kendrick did that, people would be like ''wow hes actually genius''
That’s not an argument because Kendrick wouldn’t do this shit
Logic: here's my album
Everyone: we don't really like that
Logic: ...well I was just kidding. It was a joke album. Get pranked dummy.
I might no always agree to the Melon's review scores but goddamn does he nail it on these types of topics. Logic sounds pretty cringe by saying that.
