Freakin' Anthony Michael Hall....man, this guy WAS the 80s. Weird Science, Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, Vacation....like, basically all of my favorite movies when I was a lad. Plus, I loved the Dead Zone. Such an awesome show.
My sister & her husband worked at a convention Anthony was a guest of, & he invited them to hang out in his hotel suite, & they said he was the most generous, polite, & awesome dude to hang with, kindly answering their every question about his amazing career & being a great host.
I met Anthony Michael Hall once at a Sci-fi convention before it opened. I walked up to a table that had the Battletech version of “Hero clicks”. We watched the demo and then talked about the original Battletech game. After about 10 minutes I looked at him and asked his name and how the filming of “The dead zone” tv show was going. It had not premiered yet on USA. For 10 minutes he told me about meeting Stephen King and the cast. We then went back to talking about different games we enjoyed playing. A real down to earth person.
Michael Rosenbaum is the best interviewer in the world. I love the way he interrupts his guests mid-flow, then interrupts them again, and again. What a guy!
Even to this day one of the most underrated performances by Anthony Michael Hall is in Edwards Scissorhands. He played a mean bad guy pretty well in this classic innocent tale story.
I had watched Weird Science and Edward Scissorhands for years and never realised that he was in both movies for the longest time and then one day it just clicked in my head lol I was mind blown. He’s a great villain, I agree
He seems pretty comfortable in his own skin, and he's clearly not interested in talking shit about anyone. I admire that kind of positivity. He appears to look for the best in everyone he meets. I suspect that John Hughes was very influential on him. As a kid, he saw how Hughes treated people and it seems to have rubbed off on him.
Michael Anthony Hall just doesn't disappoint! Really goes out of his way to be positive and respectful of others! He represents the 80s for so many of us!
This was my favorite episode so far! I was cracking up! AMH seems so cool and when he talked about John Hugh's just warmed my heart. Hugh's movies were massively influential to my early childhood. I hope AMH comes back and does another episode!
Honestly, I didn't like Halloween kills at all but I was thrilled to see Michael. He's been in my favorite films ever and I always love to see him on screen.
Agree, Halloween Kills wasn't very good, but the last one was worse. The 1st one was pretty good with JLC setting the house on fire. Should've been the end of it.
I just loved watching AMH growing up. Weird Science was my favorite. Kelly omg. Loved him on Dead Zone. I can't believe you did not asking about that show. it was awesome.
I have enjoyed listening to this episode on my way to work. I look forward to finishing it later. Dead Zone is such a great show. I look forward to seeing y’all at the Stageit . Inside of you Tuesday is the best day ever.
The guests just keep getting better! Anthony Micheal Hall is in some of my favorite movies. What a legend! 🙌There are bound to be some good stories coming out of this ep! Happy Tuesday friends 💙😎
This episode was so delightful. Anthony had so many great stories and his John Hughes ones were my favorite. A part 2 would be awesome. This podcast is a highlight of my week. Jamie Lee Curtis would be a great guest to come on the show.
So excited for this one!! Breakfast Club and Sixteen Candles are two of my favourite movies. Can’t wait to hear what conversations you guys will have. Thank you so much for getting him on the podcast Michael. Hope you have an amazing week and are being good to yourself. Love you ❤️ Happy Tuesday 💙
Michael i love your pos cast and the questions you ask are incredible because they aren't regular interviews you ask real questions people REALLY want to hear! Excellent show always! Keep it going!
What a guy. Wow. And the way he kept calling you by name, very engaging and a joy interview to watch. He seems like the kind of dude that makes anyone he talks to feel like he genuinely is interested.
Michael and his damn A.D.D.... ya cut off AMH when he began to mention the late Bill Paxton. That's sacrilege to the max, Rosenbaum! lol Great episode. Wish Hall had been able to stay in the spotlight the whole time. Caught him popping up in some random roles, but he was truly missed.
Amazing that this awesome performer was so big in my upbringing but I knew so little about him. Such a great peek behind the curtain. I KNEW they all improvised the funniest parts of all the Hughes greats that raised us all. Loved this, thank you! 💗
I had a excruciating 14 Hour drive from Virginia to Florida yesterday. And the only way I made it was listening to your show. Thank you so much Michael! Thank you so much Ryan!
There is a scene in Sixteen Candles in which Anthony Michael Hall is holding a cocktail and chatting in the kitchen and I swear it was the smoothest, coolest thing I have ever seen! So talented! Hah! He mentioned it.
My favorite brat packer. Doesn’t get any better 🙏. Keep kicking ass Rosey. So proud of you 💙. Have a great week everyone! I know @michelleking and I will. Shenanigans!!!!! Two more days!!
Absolutely loved this one!!!💜💜💜 Huge AMH fan- he is just so funny and personable! He is amazing! 🤩 and loved hearing the stories! Great interview Rosey! Would love to see John Cusack on here as well- both these guys ruled 80’s movies for me ☺️
Echos of hope is a wonderful organization! I used to be a counselor for children in the system so I understand the need. Thank you so much for all you do! 💙💙💙
🗣 *Been watching ‘Anthony ‘since the 80’s but he had some great roles during the 90’s ‘Bamboozled’ ,’Black & White’ etc!* *All the best from Penzance, Cornwall,UK!* 💯👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I am down the rabbit hole of all these interviews with my teenage crushes of the 80s. I am 52 years old now so it's fun seeing and hearing how they are. I just watched Andrew McCarthy. Of course I discovered this podcast since I was on the hunt for Jensen Ackles stuff to watch. Because I am his fan girl at 52 years old hehe...
I swear I’ve watched this a few times now because it’s not only informative and funny, but man, Anthony Michael Hall is just so pleasant and fun to listen to!
i'm having to get use to seeing you with hair. in the 80s anthony michael hall was 1 of my favorite actors. i thought he was so hilarious in 16 candles and my all time favorite movie weird science.
it's been said by so many...but Inside of You makes Tuesdays so special. Another great episode. And YaHoo! Stageit-Saturday less than 2 weeks away. Talking about gratitudes...I am so grateful for this podcast, and SunSpin, which always manage to make my gloomy days a little brighter.
Here's a fun fact, my daughter is currently a professional improv comic at comedy sports worldwide but when she was hired by Dick Chudnow the co-owner and her 1st job as an intern was to pick up someone from the Milwaukee airport and this human being was Nick Castle who is the original Michael Myers. So, in short, my daughter was driving around Michael Myers in Milwaukee. How crazy and wild is that? Turns out Nick Castle is one amazing human being who always brought fun to the sets. And there you have it. 🌱
Been a huge fan of AMH all the way from Brian in "Breakfast Club" to Walter Sykes in "Warehouse 13". I bet this podcast only scratched the surface of his facinating life stories.
I have been reminiscing on the 80s for a while now and I had the biggest crush on Anthony Michael Hall. He made my little nerd heart go pitter patter. Such an iconic actor and he seems genuine. I love this man. The scene from Sixteen Candles with Jake in the kitchen after the party 😭😂😂😂when he’s under the glass table. There’s so many. Lol. And holy shit I forgot about Six Pack. I used to make my parents rent that from the local blockbuster so many times just because AMH was in that 😂. I had totally forgotten about that movie. This dude is so cool and just like I always imagined, has nice things to say about everyone. So refreshing. I enjoyed this immensely 👍🙌💕 Going to binge watch now…. 😊♥️
This was my favourite inside of you. So enthralling to hear all the stories from ant about the past, had me hooked all the way through. Great podcast michael. And if another opportunity arises in a new superman movie, please audition for lex luthor. You hands down nailed the character 👏👏
Damn, Rosey... since I discovered your podcast about a month ago, I've been binging them, and I'm getting tired of saying "No, THIS is my favorite one!". Huge fan, Dude, keep up the good work.
It's funny, I went through most of the interview wondering if he would mention 'Six Pack' and it wound up being Mr. Rosenbaum being the one to mention it, so kudos to you. Thank you for reinforcing why I like you so much.... 👏👏👏 BTW, our VHS was worn out from me watching Diane Lane. I was like 12 years old and she was my first crush... Still get goose bumps thinking about her.... LOL
Freakin' Anthony Michael Hall....man, this guy WAS the 80s. Weird Science, Breakfast Club, Sixteen Candles, Vacation....like, basically all of my favorite movies when I was a lad. Plus, I loved the Dead Zone. Such an awesome show.
And Johnny B. Goode!!!
And nobody mentioned Freddy Got Fingered lol
Being an 80s teen, this interview was very nostalgic. 80s rule!
Yeah, he was IT man..he WAS the 80's!!!
Agreed!!! And for a guy playing a geek, he became a really cool dude. I thought he was incredible in the Dead Zone.
My sister & her husband worked at a convention Anthony was a guest of, & he invited them to hang out in his hotel suite, & they said he was the most generous, polite, & awesome dude to hang with, kindly answering their every question about his amazing career & being a great host.
Please bring him in for a part 2! This was great! I would love to here him reminisce about all things 80’s
Yes, would love to see a part 2!

You ever watch "Out of bounds"? Totally different character for first movie as an adult. I loved it.

Him joking with Ryan was so funny! Lol

Anthony Michael Hall should be on again. THANK YOU!! 😊🦋
I enjoyed this interview so much, made me smile as it walked through my childhood favorites. He should write a book!
Honestly, I didn't like Halloween kills at all but I was thrilled to see Michael. He's been in my favorite films ever and I always love to see him on screen.
@Delana Taylor Online agreed! Time to let Michael and the whole franchise die.

This is such a HUGE get Rosie! Can't wait for the next visit. He is the face of my childhood. Wish he would have talked more about vacation.
Weird Science was one of my goto movies in the 80's. The scene in the bar where he gets super drunk is still one of my favorites

Hi Michael! Anthony Michael Hall and Eddie Murphy are my favourite 80's movie stars. So glad to hear this great interview.

John Cusack is an a-hole. But Alan Ruck would be great. He was in a lot of 80's movies but people overlook him.
