Dear Mr Moss, thank you for your detailed review of The Old Waverley, I think you have done a great job of highlighting many of our great features which we feel make the hotel rather special; such as the fantastic location, high ceilings and period features. As you know from your past visits we always try to upgrade guests to the best possible rooms; however when Princes Street view rooms are booked out by guests who have paid to upgrade to them this is not always possible. That said, our Junior Double internal bedrooms are very popular with many of our visitors due to their competitive price and their situation away from the bustle of Princes Street. We will take all your feedback onboard (we have already fixed the issue with the plug sockets which you noted) and thank you once again for taking the time to share your experiences of The Old Waverley, we look forward to welcome you back again soon!

+Edinburgh Collection (The Edinburgh Collection) I'm currently staying in Room 518 and the plug sockets have not been fixed here. But I do like the hotel.
I stayed in room 104, just next door to the room in question. I could not find any fault in my room, but I did not go looking for faults.it was really nice, the room was very comfortable and warm. with a nice view of Princess street, Breakfast was amazing, however I did notice its not suitable for any one with mobility issues, The staff were really friendly and helpful, I would certainly stay here again.
It's interesting to see how an experience in one room, then a different experience in another, could alter your entire experience. Had you been stuck in 105, this would've been a very different review. I've always wondered how some people on Trip Advisor could give one hotel a great review, while another person gives it a poor one. This is a great example of how it can happen.
