Some of the most passionate sports fans I have ever had the pleasure of celebrating with. Y'all made me fall in love with the Sabres. Hoping that one day I can be in the arena for a game like this. Me being from detroit... I can't even compare the fanbases. It's not even a comparison on how more passionate buffalo fans are. Hockey is much better in Michigan. However, the real hockey town is Buffalo, NY. Y'all made these years absolutely insane! I wish the sabres had the teams detroit had. Detroit could never fill the joe up. Buffalo for so many years in the 2000's filled HSBC/Keybank arena up. Can't wait Buffalo to celebrate again one day!
I'm still a fan till this day and remember this game like yesterday this arena was soo loud you couldn't hear the person next to you. Party at the plaza was unreal. Yes we suck now but when we turn it around again this team and fanbase will be like Chicago and Montreal all over. Our fans are still great but this team is a disaster though ugh

I remember this day because my dad said that the Sabres won while we were waiting to go home from church. This still is the best team I've seen, and that was the first time I really cared about hockey or the Sabres.
Chris Drury was unbelievably clutch. Between his time spend with Colorado and Buffalo, the number of game winning (or game tying in a case like this) goals he had was ridiculous.
Man this brings me chills. This is when everyone loved the Sabres. This is when the players played with heart. Now? No way. Bring me back to these days. The kind of hockey WE DESERVE in Buffalo.
This is my favorite call ever, had to revisit it tonight Bc of RJ night and now I’m in tears. This fanbase has suffered so much but I feel so bad for RJ, the last decade of his career he never commentated a playoff game. Once the Sabres get back in it I want RJ to cover one game.

I'm hoping now that Lindys back, maybe they'll get in the playoffs again this coming season!
so far this is my favorite sanres moment ever, I always get goosebumps when watching this!!!
As of this moment, this video has been viewed 71263 times. I have seen it every day for a year. I can't stop watching it. This is the greatest thing I've ever seen in a hockey game. I was there. Unreal.
Does anyone have a copy to e-mail me so I can have one for myself?
I remember this day because my dad said that the Sabres won while we were waiting to go home from church. This still is the best team I've seen, and that was the first time I really cared about hockey or the Sabres.
Best commentator of the world!!! maximm afinogenovvvvv scoresss innn overrrrrrrrrrtime!!
im not a sabres fan but i like the Buffalo style of hockey (always coming back dramatically!!) AND everytime i watch this video...it gives me chills!
No you don't cupless team forever 😂😂
Lol I love how Lindy Ruff is celebrating too, a lot of coaches just stand there with a blank look on their face.
Love how RJ says 'Overtime'.
Chris Drury always showed up in the biggest moments for Buffalo!!!!
This is my favorite call ever, had to revisit it tonight Bc of RJ night and now I’m in tears. This fanbase has suffered so much but I feel so bad for RJ, the last decade of his career he never commentated a playoff game. Once the Sabres get back in it I want RJ to cover one game.
Same. I was only 6 when this happened and don’t remember much but I grew up with RJ and just want the Sabres to be there in the playoffs again.
@@unknown4091 same, I was 6 too crazy how it’s been 15 years
Still gives me chills in 2019.
Rick is hands down the best announcer is ALL OF SPORTS in my opinion! Who else has the energy and enthusiasm that RJ has! Sabres are the Best!!!! Die Hard Fan 4 Life!!!
Rest in Peace, Rick Jeanneret
Goosebumps no matter how many times I watch it.
Such a good team, I wish we went all the way.
Replying to your comment 9 years later. We should have had it in both 2006 and 2007. We've never recovered from losing Drury and Briere.
im a sabres fan from long island and the second i can i am moving to buffalo. i love the city and the sabres.
3:39 , thats me jumping in the Drury jersey!
I'm hoping theres gonna be some memories this year, but nothing might ever compare to Drurys goal with 7.7 seconds left. I just got some severe goosebumps, and a little bit of teary eyes watching the vid.
LETS GO BUFF A LO!!!
