@@AG-nn8lp It's not a competition. Everyone has their own struggles, and everyone has their own way of coping with their skin issues. One isn't better or worse than the other. Having any kind of skin issue can be debilitating for people, so let's make this a safe space where we uplift one another. Also, a lot of times, finding the cure for one's acne can be nearly impossible. Some people have to live with it for years. You can see it through makeup as well and people keep pointing it out and think you're dirty for having acne. It's frustrating. And I really hope you're able to cope with your melasma, I know it's hard because many of of relatives have it. More power and love to you. ❤

It ruins my life - I missed my exam once because of this. Mine is supposed to be androgen related hormonal as well. Every once in a while I get ugly boils on my chin. Blackheads all over my nose. Sometimes I squeeze them and it leaves scars, then I cannot go out. I hate PCOS.
Edited: I've learned that the condition can be treated with Diane-35 or Belara but they might have serious side effects such as depression and blood clots. Well, I am depressed already because of this. Can it get any worse? LOL
The thing with oral contraceptives is that the results might not be permanent. Got my prescription for Diane-35, will see how it goes.
Also please keep in mind that Yasmin and Yaz are not the same. I've read that Yasmin made acne much worse for quite a few people.
Too bad there is not a simple surgical treatment for this. Also we need PCOS and Leaky Gut awareness.
Update: I took Diane-35 for 6 months continuously. When my blood was tested, prothrombin time test (clotting time) was a bit of concern, but I decided to continue.
Diane-35 cured my acne problem however. Now I get them only a week before the period due to hormonal fluctuations.
It made me a somewhat depressed and tired.
Turned out I am also gluten and lactose intolerant. What a life 😂

I drink one cup of carrot juice mixed with a little bit of Greek yogurt full fat most days of my life. Vitamin A rich foods are very helpful in keeping one skin clear. Vitamin A is also vital for the fully functioning of the corpus luteum of a woman's ovary which helps to keep hormonal balance good. My daughter always states that her friends ask her why she never breaks out and she always tells them I made her eat a clean diet very similar to The Paleo type diet with lots of vegetables and some fruit healthy fats a tiny bit of whole grain like brown rice, and quality protein rich in zinc and fish rich in omega-3 fats but everyday she would drink a cup of carrot juice mixed with Greek yogurt. It takes a while but over time you will see it will help heal your skin. Zinc is also really important to supplement with as it helps the body utilize vitamin A. This is also why dermatologists main go to nutrient to heal skin is retinol as this is vitamin A . Eat it and your whole body will thank you. Vitamin A also helps the body get iron into one's red blood cells. If one is anemic one will often find that person is not having enough vitamin c or a in their diet

@@anaguerra3384 I juice extract enough carrots to make one cup of liquid I mix that with half a cup of either Greek yogurt f a g e 2% or even better White mountain Bulgarian yogurt which has a massive amount of probiotics 90 billion per cup. If I remember correctly it takes about eight large carrots to make one cup of liquid depending on the carrots I buy I buy big bags of organic carrot from Costco. The reason you put full fat yogurt into it is because the body needs fat to convert beta carotene into vitamin A to utilize it. If you have a dysbiosis problem which is incorrect Flora in the gut which will affect your health and skin the Bulgarian yogurt is your best bet. Vitamin A is also found in egg yolks butter and cod liver oil.one must be careful when using cod liver oil as the form of vitamin A it has is true vitamin A which you can overdose on if you have too much.. during winter I have a teaspoon of cod liver oil for its vitamin A and d including the essential fish fat EPA and DHA but then I use beta carotene from plants such as pumpkin butternut squash sweet potato carrot juice etc to get the rest of my vitamin A . Vitamin A is absolutely vital for immune function one's stem cells cannot differentiate into immune cells which are white blood cells or red blood cells without vitamin A. Vitamin A is vital for genetic expression including in our skin. If you get sick with the flu vitamin A status can plummet very low leading to skin rashes on the back of your arms and skin quality on your face going down including a low immune system. So I always make sure I get vitamin A in my food every single day. I keep sugar very low and use monk fruit instead so I don't create inflammation in the body which also affects the skin. I hope this information helps you make sure you stay consistent it takes a few months to correct certain nutritional deficiencies.

I'm literally crying rn. I haven't had clear skin for almost 5 years now. Tried everything: accutane, going to the dermatologist, changing my lifestyle but nothing seemed to work. Sometimes i just wanna stay positive but I would eventually breakdown. I have acne and acne scars all over my face. Honestly it sucks. Worse comes to worse, people point out your insecurity and you'll have to explain about it. People with clear skin or even those who have breakouts once in a while will never ever understand the pain that we're going through.
Update: I tried seeing another dermatologist and my skin is finally getting better :) Thanks for all the warm comments and suggestions, they mean a lot to me ❤️ To those who are suffering from acne rn, know that you’re not alone and you’ll definitely come out stronger 💪🏻

its so depressing to have acne. ESPECIALLY cystic acne. It hurts, Its uncomfortable, it makes you not want to look people in face. Everyone assumes you just need Proactiv or a good face wash but its beyond that. I have been distant from the people i love most for years because of how my face looks. I do not want to hear the questions or advice so I just stay away. at times i feel cursed and others grateful. I ask god "why me" but I see others in worst situations. I just want to enjoy my life but it feels like im in a box or a shell and cant truly enjoy it. I want to cry but i don't know how anymore. At this point I just tolerate it. I pray everyday that someday itll all just be a bad dream.

If you want to go a step farther, try this supplements optimized on quantum level (the supplements' development team leader is a quantum physicist). Do not be confused by simple ingredients like carbon and oxygen - they work like nothing else. My son is now on phase 3 of their comprehensive protocol and he can now tolerate many foods he could not before including cow's milk (A2). Intolerances, deficiencies and skin problems are red flags for parasites, not just gut permeability even if the tests show no parasites. I had a talk about it with Great Plains Laboratory after paying $200 for his test. They said that it is a sample of a sample that they test on parasites. If the test is negative it only means that the sample of the sample is negative.

Sadly, children often get acne, like I did- at 8 years old, I had early puberty, and of course, the pediatrician at the time dismissed everything. I was just told to use Sea Breeze astringent, mostly alcohol, and totally useless !! A detailed blood test done by an endocrinologist would have saved me decades of misery,as I was often the only person with acne, especially as bad as I had it. Diet does matter, and having a mother who couldn't cook and didn't care about nutrition was a big factor. We were forced to eat tv dinners, or just low quality food. I craved good, healthy food, like my friends' mothers would make every night, fresh meats and vegetables, instead of fried or frozen garbage. A crockpot, blender, we didn't have those things. Had I been able to do as this woman describes, life would have been SO different !!

I noticed later in life,as an adult that if I only had " goodies " on weekends or holidays, it went better all around. People don't need all that sugar in their food, especially during the week. Healthy fats, that helped too. Coconut milk in my tea instead of milk, fresh juices. ( I love my tea!) Gut health, and just having more control over one's food, and not trusting food manufacturers anymore. My doctor's always dismissed my acne -as ' it's just your DNA, learn to live with it- and they'll say that about arthritis and other conditions- so be your own best advocate !

And me oldest niece too, she called me pretty one day and I said “Really!? It got worse in High School (boarding) after I was put on a drug well known to cure acne by a dermatologist...but for some reason, it got so bad that it didn't even look like acne anymore. It's a bit better now as compared to the worst months of my high school life even tho I have very visible scars to show for it. I still battle painful acne and it has affected my confidence so much over the years. But I'm still learning to pick myself back up no matter how I look.

Oh yes, acne can last from childhood up into menopause ! Mine didn't calm down until my ( irregular) cycles ended. I still have oily skin and hair though. Doctors actually become irritated when you say you want treatment to cure these things ! American doctors just suck big time ! They've cut down on tests that they were willing to order, I've run into that as well. It's tragic to learn only about how to fix this ordeal from going online. My youth was when I needed this information. I was actually told by one of the physician assistants at this clinic that my HMO forces me to use, that PCOS goes away on its own, with menopause ! I didn't buy that ,and looked up this disease myself, and not only does it not go away, it get worse after the change ! It's proof that you can't take what these medical ( corporate) professionals say, at face value.

When I was a young adult struggling with a very bad case of cystic acne my grandma said something to me that I've carried with me through the years since. She told me very plainly and very simply "your body houses your soul" And it's so true. We are our own worst critics. I started paying attention to my inner dialog with myself. Most mornings I caught myself first thing after I woke up in the morning....walking to the bathroom to pee vowing not to eat if the scale said I gained any pounds, thinking I hated my big thighs dreading to face the mirror.
By the time I finished going to the bathroom not less than 10 negative self depricating thoughts. Yeah, not good. Then I payed attention to my interaction with other people. I've actually never walked away from a conversation with anyone thinking any bad thoughts about other people. Like wow, her hair was a mess. His belly was too big, that teenager has terrible skin...so and so has gained alot of weight. None of those thoughts. I walked away from interactions with others and it was an emotional response not a physical response.
If I did that with others then others must be doing the same thing. It didn't matter that I had crazy hair or zits. That my socks didn't match, What mattered was the content of my character and that's it. I started raising my vibration. Positive affirmations and my confidence grew. I'm pretty sure my grandma was right. Your body does house your soul. And when your soul is sick and unbalanced it shows on the outside.
There are only two emotions that are important to pay attention to. Love and Fear.
Always choose love because fear is the biggest controller. Much love to you.

I paused the video when you mentioned the hormonal Dr & what she had done for you, quickly found her on IG & noticed her office is 10 mins away from me! I now have an appointment set! I too, am not only struggling with (not as severe) acne, but also with not feeling like myself..for years now. So, I am so grateful I came across this video! & thank you for sharing what so many of us wouldn’t be brave enough to do❤️ I look forward to meeting Sarah & seeing how she can help me. 🙏🏻

la roche posay effaclar duo kit is something that has RLY helped me in the past.
along with paul’s choice acne kit.
remember to go easy on yourself and your skin. i tried to b all natural one n omfgggg that’s when it got the worst. i was using all lush products along with using honey and lemon homemade masks 🤦🏼‍♀️ it destroyeddddd my skin.
also if you use makeup wipes, stop. get a double cleansing balm. farmacy green clean cleansing balm is amazinggg. it’s not too pricey either and has lasted me a year!! you use that to take off your makeup, then while you wash that off you immediately use your face wash. you can also use it on days you didn’t wear makeup just to get extra clean!
if you have any questions or need advice reach out!! i’m almost 25 n still struggle with some cystic acne but my god it’s nowhereeee what it used to be thankfully. just i have rly bad dark marks bc of it ☹️

Annie, thank you for sharing your story. I am so happy to know you have found a solution to your cystic acne. I was tearing up watching this video because I went through the same, horrible nightmare when I was a teenager. It didn’t stop there. When I was diagnosed with cystic acne, the dermatologist put me on every medication: topical, oral, environmental, you name it - I’ve been on it. I even had a prescription to lie in a tanning bed. This was back in the mid 80’s, in a small town in central Louisiana. It was bad enough that I had cystic acne. To have, what the mean girls in my high school considered, free access to, “tan”, just added insult to injury. I was made fun of by my peers. I was called out and questioned: “What’s wrong with your face?!”, by adults working at my school, driving the school bus, parents of friends that didn’t know what cystic acne was. It was so incredibly painful. I was around 15 years old. My dermatologist, as a last resort, prescribed Accutane. It was still in experimental stages at the time I was prescribed. This meant it was not covered by my mother’s insurance. It was super expensive and my mom was a single mom. I had a job and contributed what I could. I was supposed to have been on Accutane for a year. After having been on it for three months, my skin cleared completely. It was incredible for me. I was too young to care about side effects, etc. I just wanted to be able to show my face in public and not be judged and horrified with embarrassment. It was scary, that I remember, because the packaging had so many warnings about birth defects should I EVER become pregnant while taking it. I was not sexually active at the time, but I did worry a little about the potential lingering effects. This was before they created the current protocol they have for the drug, now. I don’t recall depression being a side effect at that time. When I hear about it, now, I can’t help but think that if you have cystic acne and it’s so severe that it’s even suggested that Accutane should be prescribed, it’s highly likely you are already in a state of depression because it is so disfiguring and so painful that it touches every part of your life in an undesirable way. I was thankful for Accutane. It got me back to me and the world. My skin was ok until I was 28 and had my daughter. The cystic acne came back. It made sense to me to go back to what worked before - Accutane. I was then living in Florida and had to see a new dermatologist. She refused to put me on Accutane. So, I went through all of the same oral and topicals that I was prescribed at 15. It was very frustrating. She finally agreed to put me on Accutane, however, I had no idea of the procedures put in place, by the government, to be allowed to be on it: phone calls to an Accutane hotline, double birth control methods, regular blood tests and visits to the doctor. No thanks. Too much when I know how it works, for me (medication, OTC or Rx, works differently for everyone). I ended up ordering it online from another country (I do not recommend this for anyone, under any circumstance). I was very fortunate that I got what I ordered and it worked, again. Only needed a 60 day supply that time. Cystic acne went away and I was back to me. Again. In the next eight years or so, it came back! It was this time that I began to think this was like a disease that would go into remission and something would trigger it to come back. I just didn’t know what the trigger was. I had wised up to the risks of ordering Accutane online, from another country, without a prescription. I just rode it out using tons of OTC washes, toners, creams, etc. I wasn’t up to the task of finding a dermatologist that gave a damn enough to get to the bottom of what was causing my cystic acne. It’s like a job, in itself. I am now 52 years old. I still get pimples. I still have very oily skin and overactive sebaceous glands. I’m now in peri-menopause. My breakouts are not at all as severe as they once were and I rarely get a cystic bump (if I do, I do not touch it and I smother it in OTC acne cream until it’s not sore). This is a debilitating diagnosis because your face is the first thing people see. I handle it better, now, than I did at 15 and 28. It’s not quite as devastating. People should know that the embarrassment isn’t all rooted in vanity. Cystic acne, as you confirmed, is very painful. Physically painful. I would get headaches from the large cysts under my skin. And it wasn’t just my face. They were on my chest, back, arms, and other sensitive areas. Yes, I wanted to look presentable, I wanted to stop being teased and harassed, but more than anything, I wanted the pain to stop. I have educated myself, as much as I can, about food, rest, exercise, and other aspects that contribute to internal health. I have found intermittent fasting and cutting out dairy, refined sugar, and carbs helps keep my breakouts in check. I am not a doctor, so I’m not saying this will work for everyone. It has taken me a very long time to understand what works for me. And, I’m very aware that it’s possible that, tomorrow, none of these things will work for me. Like you, I am always borderline anemic. I also had Scarlet Fever, strep throat, and chicken pox, all at the same time, when I was three years old. I often wonder if this played a part of my internal health issues. Have yet to find a doctor that cares enough to help me figure it out. I’m done with that route.
Thank you so much for sharing your story, Annie. Sorry for the long ramble. You are the first person I’ve ever seen on RUclips to share their experience. Wishing you and your family all the best. 🥰

Thank you for sharing this account of your long, hard journey with the nightmare that is acne, Julys. Finding a doctor willing to prescribe Accutane, even to a post- menopausal woman is not easy ! I'm VERY glad that Annie has shared what works for her. And as I'm finding out, family history really does count,as far as WHY things are not functioning properly in one's body. My great-grandmother ( maternal side) had many hormonal issues, and she had symptoms of PCOS,as well. Hypothyroidism, diabetes. But in her day, endocrinology wasn't even available. Even with her many disorders, she had nine surviving children, and several miscarriages. Birth control was illegal back the, too. She shouldn't have had ANY kids, because of her genes. ( She hated children, too). I had symptoms of PCOS, starting in my pre- teens, but it wasn't noticed. Surrounded by self- obsessed adults, crappy doctors. Mr parents were indifferent to my quality of food, they just threw sugary stuff at me. Kids often know instinctively what they need, and I craved foods high in vitamin A, and zinc, the B- vitamins, etc. And food was pretty cheap then ! I wish I'd known to grab the dog vitamins ! That would have helped with my severe deficiencies, no joke ! The thin hair, acne, and rosacea were signs that I needed an endocrinologist. Anyone who knows of children plagued with these conditions, tell them to start with an endocrinologist, and detailed blood panels. This is tough enough for adults !!🙃

I’m concerned for my daughter. She is a freshman in college. She began school with healthy skin, barely any acne, but in the past few months, her acne has engulfed her entire face. It looks painful, red and she picks at it when she is stressed.
As her mom, I couldn’t believe what was happening and went with her to the dermatologist.
She recommended accutane. My daughter took her first pill yesterday and awoke with her scalp burning and her nose dry. She is crying and so scared to continue taking it, saying she is going to lose her hair. I’m at a loss. She thinks it’s not cystic acne (her father suffered from cystic acne in college age, but she doesn’t think it’s severe) but mindlessly picks at her skin and runs her fingers through her hair constantly. It’s overwhelming sometimes telling her to stop her actions of doing so, but she doesn’t listen. The accutane needs to clear the breakouts quickly or her little face is going to scar and cause even more emotional toll on her. I’m not sure how to encourage her anymore. Thank you to anyone reading this.

There’s a Japanese bean called “Natto” it suppose to help with the skin. I heard over all it’s VERY VERY healthy to eat. I read it balances the oil and water in the skin cells. only thing is, I heard it smells very very bad like wet socks. So if you can fight through the smell, and eat it for breakfast with some rice and Broccoli every morning it will be way more beneficial than eating sugar cereals, or pancakes with syrup etc. Vitamin D helps, and water should be your new best friend. Some milk too, helps with that vitamin D intake.
      Anyways hope this helps.

Seeing someone who specializes in hormone imbalance is the only thing I haven’t tried, and I think deep down I know that’s been the root of my acne issues.
What made me want to comment was when you said “wearing makeup actually helped.” I am SO SICK of being told to drink more water, not wear makeup, and eat a plant based diet, when I KNOW that’s not what’s causing my acne. And just being told to get my hormones, stress, gut, and overall attitude in balance is like... okay but how?

This is one of the most honest and sincere videos I've seen about beauty. People always assume looks are superficial but in this world, they really do affect our psyche. I am SO happy that you've healed yourself and you should be proud that you went through this because it seems like it made you stronger and realize what's important in life. In a world of fake internet people you are a ray of sunshine.

I just couldn't bring myself to meet people because I'm too scared. skin is your biggest commitment and I hope everyone heals soon and we all gain our lost confidence back.

@@daisyhernandez3282 I’d think eating lean meats, drink nothing but water, eating vegetables, no sugar intake at all, especially never any soda...EVER, exercising daily by jogging/walking. Wash your face once Or twice a day, take daily vitamins especially vitamin D.
There’s a Japanese bean called “Natto” it suppose to help with the skin. I heard over all it’s VERY VERY healthy. I believe I read it balances the oil and water in the skin cells.
However I heard it smells very very bad like wet socks. So if you can fight through the smell and eat it for breakfast with some rice and Broccoli every morning it will be way more beneficial than eating sugar cereal, or pancakes with syrup etc.

I’ve never left a comment on a RUclips video before but this really moved me. I have struggled with acne my entire life and within the last couple years I thought I had finally grown out of it. But now in my mid-twenties I am suddenly experiencing acne like I’m 14 again and it’s extremely debilitating and embarrassing. I’ve been trying all sorts of things and practicing patience but it’s hard. Your story has completely shifted my mindset and boosted my confidence and really just comforted me so much. i know accutane does seem scary with all the potential side effects BUT it is so worth it!! I used to have cystic acne just like hers it was awful, mine came from the depo-provera birth control shot a big mistake i made when I was 19yrs old, it screwed up my hormones and caused cystic acne for the next 7 years of my life after that. After years of seeing estheticians and peels and doctors and antibiotics I finally did accutane at age 27 bc I was finally able to afford the treatment.. I think i did it for 8mos? with a break here and there. I remember I did stop it on my own bc I felt it was starting to affect my knee joints and it scared me. It could have been 10mos in, not sure as it was a long time ago. As soon as I stopped taking the pills the leftover stubborn acne disappeared and my skin blossomed, it was radiant and so beautifully clear. Not only does accutane stop the oil production on the face but on the whole body, it helped everywhere else too, no armpit stink or stinky feet, the genitals had no odor. I was nice and dry everywhere it was great for a whole year or two after until I started producing oil again.. LOL. I remember I didn't have to wash my hair very often either bc there was no oily scalp. It was the best medicine for my body and such a blessing. My acne never came back. All I have is the scarring left. I don't wear makeup and my skin is neutral. I am 41yrs old now and I have never had a pimple since then and my diet is not that great, I don't have to worry about eating too much of anything bc nothing causes any breakouts. The friends I have in my age group that suffered with the same kind of acne also took accutane and it worked wonderfully for them too. One of them took a round of accutane twice. It is something to consider and to not be so fearful of. Just Remember every FDA approved drug has a shitload of scary side effects, just be mindful of the process and listen to your body, it will tell you when enough is enough. It is worth the hassle in the end.

Wow this hit a little bit too close to home. I started crying in the end. You are absolutely right, when people love you, they don’t see your acne. I always see people on Instagram posting their cystic acne experience and I’m always admiring their beauty and it’s honestly because of the confidence they exude. If it’s one thing I’ve learned from my experience, I’ve gained so much confidence in loving myself, my skin and others and to just have empathy and be understanding. I’ve also learned a lot about my body and what it needs. It sounds like we have a similar experience because supplements and high frequency treatment are the only things that have worked for me (I tried everything too). I still get cystic bumps but it’s a lot more manageable now. Maybe I should try a food intolerance test! And you mentioned another great point - I realize I might actually be anemic. I’ve been diagnosed with it before and kinda just forgot about it but I’m 5’3 and like only 100 lbs, always cold and feel like I always lack the energy to do things. Also need to try Vitamin D - I live in the Wisconsin.

I never really want my partner to see me without makeup even though he's extremely supportive and tells me he loves me the way I am. OMG girl. I felt emotional listening to all of this. What a long haul. My acne is not quite as severe but it is definitely enough that I can relate to you. Enough to want to hide some days. I am so glad you found Sara. I find doctors nowadays sadly don't truly treat people anymore. They just push big pharma. They don't even TRY to get to the bottom of anything and clean things up from the inside out. When I went to my doctor about my acne, she just said, well, it just looks like you are picking and here is some anti-biotic cream. I doubt it will help much but you can try it. That was it. Seriously lost faith in her that day. I am not picking at nothing. The deep cyst acne that is so bothersome. She ordered some bloodwork for me, and when I said, "will this check my hormones?" she said, no, she was just checking the standard, cholesterol, insulin, etc. I feel pretty discouraged. This started up for me three years ago when life got really stressful (house fire, sudden death of my mom, dad had a stroke, stressful busy job that has me out of work life balance, single mom) and I think in combo with being on the verge of perimenopause, I am out of whack. It comes in waves. Seems to clear and then breaks out again before it totally goes away in the lower region like you describe. Anyway, thanks for sharing this and being our northern star pointing us in the right direction.

I’ve struggled with hormonal acne for the last 10 years. MY ENTIRE TWENTIES. As a teenager I had absolutely no acne and then when I turned 20, it hit me out of nowhere. I’m now 30 and finally starting to gain control and use products with good ingredients as well as some oral treatments. And although I still get some acne along my jawline, especially when I’m menstruating, my face hasn’t been this clear since I was 15. I’ve struggled with depression and anxiety and would stay inside as much as possible and avoid social situations because I was so ashamed and embarrassed by my skin. The only thing that helped with my self esteem, was to just stop caring about what others thought and that took me years to accomplish. I’m so happy for you that you’ve gained control of your skin!

Bek H I started paying super close attention to the ingredients in my skincare products. I cut out anything with artificial or natural fragrance including essential oils as well as products that contain alcohol or denatured alcohol. I started with a gentle cleanser that wasn’t too stripping but cleansed my face thoroughly (I like Youth to the People Kale and Spinach cleanser and CeraVe gentle foaming cleanser). Then used a niacinamide serum, I tried The Ordinary but I found the Good Molecules niacinamide worked better for my skin. I would gently pat 4-5 drops of the niacinamide on my face after cleansing. Then I would moisturize with a product that doesn’t contain any olive oils or coconut oils as these oils break my skin out, the Purito Deep Sea Water cream or The Ordinary Hydrating Factors moisturizer are some that I use. Then I would use a sunscreen. In the evening I would double cleanse starting with an oil cleanser, then a gentle cleanser, then niacinamide, then a moisturizer. I would use a 1% retinol cream once a week before bed and because retinol is very drying I would use squalene oil on my face some nights after my moisturizer. I would also spot treat any new pimples I had coming in with a 2% salicylic acid cream, gel or liquid, Paula’s Choice BHA liquid really worked for me and I ended using it over my entire face 3 times a week once my skin became accustomed to the retinol.
The key is to pay attention to your skin and determine what it is it needs. I thought for the longest time that I had oily skin because I had acne, but my skin was actually begging for hydration and when I gave it proper hydration it balanced itself out. I’ll never forget how amazing my skin looked the next morning after just using niacinamide and a good moisturizer, it changed my life honestly.

Drs need to get with the times. I’ve struggled as well. It’s a battle and diet and gut health aren’t talked about enough.

True. I’ve had too many medications (oral and topical) pushed down my throat and none of them worked. Since my issue is hormonal and the animals I was consuming had hormones, I decided to just skip those (including dairy) and went for a plant-based diet.

black guanábana I’ve literally only just discovered this issue and I’ve gone plant based and my skin has completely cleared. I am getting some pressure from friends who don’t agree with my choice to go vegan/plant based and I’m just like... why would I deliberately eat food that gives me acne lmao. Who tf WANTS acne!?

Because most of the diet/acne advice people give is complete pseudoscience and actual dermatological studies have not shown any strong statistical links between diet and acne. It's all anecdotal. Cystic acne is a disease that isn't going to stop by swapping your pillow or cutting out cheese. This is just more of the pseudoscience fad. I've been on accutane and I loved it completely and still swear by it. Nothing is as effective and lasting and the fear mongering around the drug is ridiculous.

I'm crying along with you babe, I know and feel the pain you're feeling. I lost 5 years of my social life due to hiding indoors from sheer embarassement of my acne. You look amazing right now, and I can only hope that one day my skin can look as clear as yours!

This protocol addresses those as well. microbeformulas.com/products/detox-protocol The docs in that clinic charge $700/h. But you can have 1 free zoom call with the nurse. Plus the protocol in online.

I cant thank you enough for this raw, honest and thorough ted talk. I needed this because Im so tired of having breakout while all my friends and family have clear skin. I absolutely don't want them to have this issue and Im glad they have clear skin but it just feels like im going through this alone and they dont understand the frustration and feeling that you don't want to go anywhere. but here... we have a community, and we all understand so thank you!

When you have such severe acne like that, it only makes sense there’s a hormonal imbalance/intestinal issue and it’s not just a Topical issue. The skin of course gets the average zit or whatever from time to time but constantly having such severe acne is your body’s immune system saying SOMETHING IS WRONG!!! 😭 I’m not a doctor but even I can see that so I’m saddened that doctors dismissed that for you. 😩 So glad to hear of your journey and that you overcame!! ❤️

I'm nearly 42 and have struggled with cystic acne on and off since i was 13. The last year or so it has gotten so bad that I've been too self conscious to make videos for my channel. As soon as I finished watching this video the first thing I did was order a deficiency and allergy test. In the last few days I also discovered azeliac acid (one of the ingredients in the product you use) and it has FINALLY brought down some of my redness. Dairy is a huge huge trigger (I'll get welts), and I reckon I'm low on iron also. Thank you for making this it has given me a lot to think about.

This is hands down the most heart-felt, relatable, informative, useful & thorough video I've seen on this topic (& I have watched a LOT of these sorts of vids looking for answers & help with my adult hormonal acne)! If I could like this more than once I totally would! Thank you SO much for sharing your journey with us. I have never seen your channel before, but this came up in my recommendations today & I honestly didn't think I'd watch the whole thing...but here I am after 36 minutes, teary & smiling at the same time. The last part of this video in particular, about your feelings...that really hit me in the heart.
The physical pain of the cystic lesions all down the sides of my face & neck (although not as severe as yours in the photos you showed) caused me to sob into my pillow at night on more than one occasion. It hurt to just lie there! I am also extremely lucky to have a partner who held me as I cried & told me he loved me. He didn't invalidate my experience or dispute my pain. I am beyond grateful for my loved ones & their support. As you said, the people who love you don't see your acne. It is not you & it doesn't define you or your worth.
My acne has improved a lot over the past 6 months, but it's an ongoing journey & I am still seeing new cystic lesions. Like you, it has truly taught me some valuable life lessons that I don't think I would have learned without this experience. Anyway, this comment is getting too long haha, just wanted to leave a note to say thank you!! Sending so many virtual hugs to whoever needs them rn!
