Some updates, to apply for tatkal now we dont have to write any letter to HCI or Embassy. You can just follow the normal procedure in website by selecting tatkal instead of ordinary passport. Only one 2x2 photo is required for the whole application. For tatkal, you should show them 2 Indian ID cards say aadhar, DL, Electoral Card, Pancard etc.
@@parveez90 No its not required for Tatkal also. If you come under London High Commission, then the best VFS office you can go is Cardiff. Very friendly staff and they dont eat your money.

Or can we attach a digital signature to the forms? Second question: All these proofs like the visa, brp etc can they be black and white print out ? Also do they need self attesting with physical pen signatures?
You can fill the form online but you have to sign it with wet ink/pen. Black and white prints are absolutely fine and yes they need physical pen signature or wet signature

Hi Haseeb Yes you can apply for tatkal if your address is same as old passport but best is to select normal process at first and then ask vfs to change it to tatkal. It takes ~2-4 weeks to get it in tatkal

Hi, Thanks for the detailed video. I have submitted the passport renewal application to VFS and they informed me that "my application need correction and have paid £10 for application recreation" They have created the application in their login and didn't shared the application copy. On receiving the passport, In address section - post office name was misprinted. I have contacted the VFS center about the issue and given the required detail but they are not responding back. last email from them says "Please note that the passport has been printed by the competent authorities as per your previous records." Please suggest if you have any thought process on this?

if your adress on passport is not changing you can use the same. They accpet bank styatements, spouse's passport copy. If you do not have any of these best is to drop an email to HCI london and confirmed. inf.birmingham@mea.gov.in

HI shiv You can search on your district police website and you will see a section with name Passport services. You will get an email from there. I. Did the same in my case and got a reply

Change of appearance is mostly for kids or for some one who has changed appearance slightly - for example, dye your hair or grow a beard. In normal condition it is not needed.

Children between the ages of 15 and 18 have the option to apply for a minor passport valid until he/she attains the 18 years of age or full validity passport of 10 years. Different fees are applicable for different validity. You can go to the VFS office and apply on his behalf. He need to sign all the forms and application. Hi Pri, now PPF is not needed. And application needs to be signed by minor as they can sign now. All other documents can be signed by parent. I made word documents, filled in the details, took print and then signed. It is a lot easier that way
You can use whatever you want. You just need to have address proof of that. Police verification is a must and it will happen at the address that you will mention. Personally I would suggest that you use same address as yours. Using your passport and some other address proof
In that condition police verification might not be done. Due to the backlogs they are not doing police verification for person who are not changing their addresses from previous passport

Change of appearance affidavit should be certified by notary public. certifying that the the new photo to be incorporated in the passport is of the applicant. You can search for a public notary in your area. Charges varies from location to location and can be in range of 50-120£
Not at all bhai, change of appearance form is signed by VFS only.. no need of notary and all.. they ll click a new photo of you for 9 pounds and give you appearance form to fill then and there only...just go directly to vFS, don't go anywhere else for anything
Hi Sir, while filling the form it asks you to select district from the dropdown, my old passport just says Pune as a district but now I have to select pimpari chinchwad as a district to select the right police station. Now the draft of passport reflects Pune Pimpari Chinchwad. Would that require an address proof. First line address is not changing. Could you please guide me.

My application is at "print initiated" stage for the last 3 working days; do you know if passports are printed in the UK, and if there's a delay in printing at the minute? Need to travel in 3 weeks' time, but this is giving me confidence that I'll get my passport in time.
I am glad it was helpful. Passports are printed in the UK. You should get the next notification in 2-3 days that the passport has been handed over to the delivery partner or OSP and then you will get it the next day (on Monday if it updates on Friday). You will definitely get it in next one week. Best of luck

Usually, a UK address is not permitted on the Indian passport. However, in exceptional circumstances only, when the applicant proves that he/she does not have a permanent address in India and he/ she has Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) in UK, an applicant may be permitted to reflect his/her UK address in his/her Indian passport. An affidavit from the applicant about his/ her not having a permanent address in India, must be attached with the application.

Ypu don't have to carry original but you will have to provide an address proof in India . 10th marksheet is not accepted as address proof. It can be adhaar card , phone bill , electricity bill , water bill , bank statement etc. BTW you can update your adhaar card address online

Hi Your son need not to be present At VFS at time of appointment. You can submit it on his behalf. But your son will to write his name (sign) on the application form and you can sign all other documents. It's totally up to you. I filled the forms on computer, took a printout and then signed. You can fill it by hand as well. Any color (bkue/black) is fine, I used blue

Hi mani Cancellation is to be done via email to passport.london@mea.gov.in You can book a slot to new location and then drop and email for cancellation. If Your old form have right information about your counselor jurisdiction then you do not have to fill a new form.

Hi Kumar, The coreecetion process is leangthy and will cost you money. I will leave it as such for now. It will not create any problems to you in UK.

How did you follow up with the embassy (Birmingham)? My application is in process for 4 weeks and no police verification email yet. Using the call number, they just sent me a Whatsapp number and not telling the status of my application.

Change of appearance is mostly for kids or for some one who has changed appearance slightly - for example, dye your hair or grow a beard.

Hi Pri, now PPF is not needed. And application needs to be signed by minor as they can sign now. All other documents can be signed by parent.

Change of appearance affidavit should be certified by notary public. certifying that the the new photo to be incorporated in the passport is of the applicant.
You can search for a public notary in your area. Charges varies from location to location and can be in range of 50-120£
Not at all bhai, change of appearance form is signed by VFS only.. no need of notary and all.. they ll click a new photo of you for 9 pounds and give you appearance form to fill then and there only...just go directly to vFS, don't go anywhere else for anything
Shiv HCI London website says that It should be notarized by a notary. Though Vfs do many things that are not mentioned on the website

I am glad it was helpful. Passports are printed in the UK. You should get the next notification in 2-3 days that the passport has been handed over to the delivery partner or OSP and then you will get it the next day (on Monday if it updates on Friday). You will definitely get it in next one week. Best of luck

Usually, a UK address is not permitted on the Indian passport. However, in exceptional circumstances only, when the applicant proves that he/she does not have a permanent address in India and he/ she has Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) in UK, an applicant may be permitted to reflect his/her UK address in his/her Indian passport. An affidavit from the applicant about his/ her not having a permanent address in India, must be attached with the application.

Your son need not to be present At VFS at time of appointment. You can submit it on his behalf. But your son will to write his name (sign) on the application form and you can sign all other documents.
VFS may or may not have photo facility so best is to get his pics clicked before going to VFS and keep it handy. Pic should be of 2*2 inches

No. They will use a waterproof envelope and they use dxmail

hi very helpful video..my wife has applied for renewal she wasn't asked to fill out the ppf form. shes been living in the UK since 2004. The police verification is being done in India she submitted her copy of Aadhaar card and passport copy they are still asking for 2 local witnesses.. she doesn't know the new neighbours since its been over 20 years. what happens in this case.
