Man, it turns out i didn't realise I've been a huge fan of every song these guys have ever put out. Lucky to have them on Canadian radio all these years. BRB, going to order their entire discography.
They are all so young! I was 19 when this song came out. I saw them perform One Chord to Another live for the 20th anniversary, and even ended up in the same bar as Chris, Jay, and Patrick. Such a great night. I love Sloan so much (Michigander who listened to a Windsor radio station as a teen.)
Its not even just my favorite sloan song. I like to think I have a pretty good variety music. I think this is the best song ever made. I'm not even the biggest Sloan fan. But seriously amazing . How Sloan gets not mainstream love.
This whole LP is a pastiche of great bands and LPs. This one screams out Zombies to me. Yes, the Zombies were not known for their horns but the lyrics are such a nod to "Care of Cell 44". Just saw the boys for the 20th Anniversary of this LP here in Victoria. What a great night.
Ooh, I've always noted the Beatles heritage of this song, but the Zombies reference, and thematically Cell 44, raises it to ...uh, 11. Good spotting, Sir!
Honestly i did not know there was a music video for this.. I would love to be in a wedding - themed music video, acting is such fun! Im sure they had a blast !
The ONLY reason this song didn't get more love(besides being Canadian) is they released it the same week Weezer released Buddy Holly. If they had released it any other time, it would have crushed. Truly an example of "Timing is everything"☹
@@555_Lady_JB If you're looking, Chicago Transit Authority simplified their name to Chicago. The influence of their first few albums can easily be heard in this song. Don't get me wrong, I dig this song. I don't know much more about Sloan but if you have recommendations that sound lime this song, please post here. I will check them out.
I honestly feel deeply stupid pointing out, that if Sloan had been American they'd have been relatively rich, maybe not huge, but decent. How is this even remotely worse than Sugar Ray?!
The STUPIDEST titling of a pop song EVER!!! 🤬🤬😡You know how many freaking YEARS it took me to recover this song?!? Why not “Don’t Hide Yourself Away” or “Come Home For Good?!” Lol 😂
It was pretty common in the 90s to either give a song a title that had nothing to do with the lyrics (mayonaise by the pumpkins for example-spelled wrong too) or choose a random lyric from the verses. Still messes with me too because I’m terrible with song names to begin with.
Probably the most under rated band in Canadian history.
I fully agree the most underrated.great stuff from Sloan .
Chilliwack
One Chord To Another got it’s due respect..

i had a good friend turn me on to Sloan back in 1993. Makes me wish i was Canadian....here it is 2019 Their music is like Audible medicine for my soul
Almost get a garage Beatles vibe from them. I live just an hour where they were formed.
The good friend was the wedge
Tragically Hip, Bush, Bush X Razer blade suitcase... Tragically Hip highly recommended..
This song still slaps. What a tune.
Hell yeah!!

One Chord To Another is a perfect album. This is one of it's many highlights.
This music video was my introduction to Sloan in 1996, back when my satellite provider had Much Music as a channel.
i found out last week a friend of mine of over 25 years IS IN THE VIDEO!!! XD
Good in Everyone for me then this came out in the fall.
This is a certified banger.
21 and growing up in Canada, this was part of the soundtrack, thank you Sloan!!
Why wasn't this our national anthem. The hip get all the love. Sloan is Canada's band.
Much music
This is still a fave jam of mine in 2023!
This song...perfection.
CANADIAN ROCK LEGENDS!!! SALUTE
This is my favorite Sloan song, one of these days I'm gonna go see them live
me too

See em yet?
Its jarring to see how young they look in this video, Pat and Chris in particular look really young and awkward in this one.
Cheers to the uploader

They are going for Chicago here
This brings back memories
Unsung Genius.
Felix, what you mean is Unrecognized genius because Sloan is very recognized genius at singing :) lol
"The band has promised me that this will be a slow one". Slow one=Sloan. (rim shot)
my fav sloan song
Mine too! they're sooo young in this video too.
I’m getting a Ben Folds Five vibe from Sloan, especially the tracks with piano. Anyone else?
yup - did not recognize that myself but now that you mention it, apt comp!
I think 1996 was the only year I enjoyed being alive 🫤
the 3 some wasn't worth it without love
The band has promised me that this will be a "sloan"..... clever.
Cool.
TILT MODE ARMY 4 LIFE!!
Fckn' SWEET !!! Hot close to Windsor, Ontario on your new album tour please !

Canadian beatles
They're the Canadian Chicago with this one, tho...
Love this song.. Babies :)
A skate video brought me here. Tilt Mode Man Down.
So good!!! MASH THE LIKES ❤
only 20,000 views, seriously?
Sloan has always had sad advertising and public relations; it doesn't make them any less great than they are, eh!
Honestly i did not know there was a music video for this.. I would love to be in a wedding - themed music video, acting is such fun! Im sure they had a blast !
Does this sound like another older song? Asking cuz I have been looking for this melody for months? Do any of you know?

Am I seeing things or does that trumpet player on the left look like a young Dallas Good? I mean, the GTA, they had to know each other.
What was the song before this? Oooooooooooooo uwooooooooo o uoooooo.
It's the end of the song Junior Panthers. Another great tune on One Chord to Another!
@@anthonymiceli3756 thanks coolio

i would have snuck in the air vents instead of the traditional door:)

Boy I don’t know.
Spoon stole this tune!
Uhh...Sloan stole this from Chicago Transit Authority.

Neil Young must be pissed!

You did your time, your home for good
good tune. a bit like 'take on me' by a-ha
Huh?? It's nothing like that. More like a "Chicago" or "Beatles" tune.
@@Holymakinawyeah...they were definitely borrowing heavily from Chicago on this one.
Found this song from a 2001 skateboarding video im so glad i did
I wanna know the name.
