    The WRC is the FIA World Rally Championship, a tough motorsport using rally cars on real roads around the world. Watch the best rally drivers battle on gravel and asphalt roads with mud, rain, dust, ice and heat! Watch high speed action as the rally drivers power slide and drift round narrow corners, go flat out over a big jump or through a watersplash, handbrake turn round a hairpin, survive a big moment, or have a massive crash! Rally requires maximum attack and careful tactics to become world rally champion.
    Each rally has timed sections called special stages, on closed roads. Drivers complete these stages as quickly as possible. A co-driver reads pace notes that explain the hazards ahead. Rally drivers use the same rally car to travel to each stage on public roads, following normal traffic regulations. The crew which completes all the stages in the shortest time is the rally winner. Championship points are won using the same scoring system as Formula 1. The championship is administered by Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), motorsport's world governing body.
    Over 30 countries have hosted WRC rallies. Rally Monte Carlo, Rally Argentina, Rally Finland, Rally Portugal, Tour de Corse on Corsica, France, Rally Sardegna on Sardinia, Italy, Safari Rally in Kenya, Acropolis Rally in Greece, Rally New Zealand, Rally Australia, Rally Japan, Rally GB, Rally Catalunya, Rallye Deutschland, Rally Mexico and many more.
    Some of the world's greatest drivers have won the FIA World Rally Championship for Drivers, like Colin McRae, Carlos Sainz, Walter Röhrl, Stig Blomqvist, Petter Solberg, Ott Tänak. The list of world rally champions includes many Finnish rally drivers like Juha Kankkunen, Tommi Mäkinen, Ari Vatanen, Marcus Grönholm, Hannu Mikkola. French drivers have had success with Sébastien Ogier, and 9 times world champion Sébastien Loeb. Famous drivers from other motorsports have come to try rally driving like Ken Block from Rallycross, and Robert Kubica and Kimi Räikkönen from F1.
    Car companies compete for the prestigious FIA World Rally Championship for Manufacturers awarded to the most successful WRC constructor. Winners include Citroen, Hyundai, Volkswagen and Peugeot. Ford have had success with the Ford Escort, Ford Focus and Ford Fiesta when the M-Sport team won in 2017.
    The 1980's featured the iconic Group B rally cars like the Lancia 037 and Delta S4, Peugeot 205 T16, MG Metro 6R4, Ford RS200 and Audi Quattro.
    Japan dominated the 1990s with the Mitsubishi Lancer, Subaru Impreza, and Toyota Celica and Toyota Corolla. Toyota returned to the WRC in 2017 with the Toyota Yaris WRC, winning in 2018. Hyundai won in 2019 and 2020 with the Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC. Find out about the latest winners and champions at www.wrc.com

    The rally in belgium came to perfectly replace the rally in germany...Speed, adrenaline and challenging...and it ends in spa with a grand finalle...I love you wrc

    It's cool to see really big crowds at the Belgian stages of the WRC! I know rally doesn't get many views online but still loads of people turn up to spectate :)

    • @andypandy1114
      @andypandy1114 2 года назад +10

      That's kinda not true alot of petrol heads consume rally online like amateur events and hill climbs but the wrc just can't market the RUclips channel like f1 or moto gp who are juggernauts on RUclips

    • @andypandy1114
      @andypandy1114 2 года назад +5

      I think they need a drive to survive like series on Netflix because that made f1 super popular with a younger audience aka RUclips audience

      @@andypandy1114 "...wrc just can't market the RUclips channel..."
      They're not trying to "market the RUclips channel". They're using the RUclips channel to promote WRC+. They shill it at the end of every single video, how people STILL haven't got the message after 3 years is beyond me. It boggles my mind, every single video the same people crying and whining that the RUclips coverage is lacking. Duh! You're supposed to pay for WRC+ just like F1 and F1TV.

      @@andypandy1114 Yeah I agree, Drive to Survive has been a huge success for getting a younger generation into F1, rally has plenty of drama in it to do the same thing I think

      Idk, seeing one at Spa was weird for me. Doesn't feel like it's in its natural habitat.

    • @alphaprawns
      @alphaprawns 2 года назад +3

      Yeah I kind of partially agree, it's cool seeing it on Eau Rouge but it did feel like the car was kind of was kind of wasted on such a wide open circuit. They're not built for top speed, and Spa is like 6 times wider than the stages they usually run on

    • @zwjna
      @zwjna 2 года назад

      And that section was quite easy. In more bumpy, narrow, technical sections, the usage is even bigger. And in loose surfaces, the usage is the highest due to weight transfering techniques, trail braking, and whatnot: ruclips.net/video/PQ1f5jek4MM/видео.html

    Still don't understand how you get "Eeep" out of the random collection of letters "Ypres"...
    ... I'm gonna call it the "YEET rally" from now on.

    • @ssvis2

      It sounds more like "Ee-preh" which makes sense with some non-english pronunciations of "Y". The second syllable is very soft.

      To settle the car and get the weight over the nose to help turn it. Nothing to do with keeping the turbo spooled, got anti lag for that these days
