Good video. That trail is pretty popular. Especially with people and horses. They typically take the trail to Lake Solitude. We went a couple years ago and saw plenty of people and horses. There are a lot of other lakes up there with less people. But also thinner air. Come back anytime though.
yes, there were many more people there than I had anticipated. I had a hard time with altitude coming from Minnesota. I am thinking about giving it another shot this year, but staying longer to acclimate. I really want to make it to Cloud Peak!
@@happytrailbackpacking Awesome man. I recommend hiking to your campsite day one. Rest day two. Then hit the peak on day three maybe. Just to not wear yourself out too much before the big climb. Depending on how many days you can stay up there anyway. And of course enjoy a nice steak or burger at the Bozeman Trail Steakhouse on your way out of town.
We're headed back late June 2023. We went last September but I only made it to Lake Helen. Poor planning, altitude kicked my butt. Hoping to attempt Cloud Peak but will be happy to make it to the waterfall.
Another great video. So good I watched it twice!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Wow. beautiful destination. Long way from home!!
About 17-hour drive, but closest big mountains to home. Great place!
Adding this place to my list this summer. Thanks for sharing!
Good luck, I hope you enjoy it as much as I did. I will most likely return sometime.

The altitude can really get to you, especially while backpacking. Drink lots of water. good luck on future adventures!
