    Are the Big Horns considered part of the Rocky Mountain Range proper? From what I gather, they are considered separate.
    Kind of like the Uwharrie Mountains in NC are not part of the Appalachian Mountain Range proper, or the Adirondack Mountains are not part of the Appalachian Mountain Range proper.

      The Big Horn Mountains were formed through the same process as the rest of the Rocky Mountains i.e the Laramide Orogeny.

      Yes they are considered a sister range of the Rockies
