Kudos for a non-diplomatic post! A lot of blogges try to find a sweet spot to avoid bashing/controversy but you were blunt! Thanks for your honesty. I stayed in Canada for 2 years, had an amazing career, worked with fortune 500 brand but moved back to Delhi for the same reason. My friend's mother died, despite having a kidney doner because she got a 6 months waiting time for the transplant. That was shocking and disappointing for me and my wife and we decided to take a u-turn and came back to India. I still miss a lot of things that Canada offers but still I am more happy in India now.

Now a days they want to perform too many unwanted blood tests to build up the bill using scare tactics and unless u pay the Demand draft / cash they dont see you. I know of a friend whose both parents are doctor's in a government hospital & have a clinic at home with a test lab & use to do things like that for patients who went to them were told to do all the test so that they could make money. But my dad would always tell the patient that u need only which test they really needed. So not to waste their money on doing all unwanted test which was prescribed by other doctor's who wanted to make money. So other doctor's never liked what my dad told the patients.😊

I once had flu and i made a mistake of going to emergency. It was after hours so all the clinics nearby were closed. I waited 6 hours straight in ER with only 2 people in. I went to ask receptionist if I could go outside and get something to eat as I was hungry and she told me if i go back they’ll take me off their list and I have to register again. At this point I lost it and made a scene and went back home sick. Health care system is not absolutely free in Canada. Its very absurd and frustrating.

Don't live in large cities. The hospitals in large cities of Canada cannot handle the increased patients due to mass immigration. They were not planned for that. Places like Brampton, Scarborough, Mississauga are a disaster. I live in a small city of 100,000 in Ontario and we get prompt medical care.

Reality of Canada - Very bad weather - freezing with gusty winds with
snow or ice ,get ready to shovel a lot of snow in winter, winter type
weather is for 8 months, very high price of house plus other high
expenses which are unaffordable like on an average house price is
million dollars plus other expenses makes you 12,000$ per month which
you will not get easily as salary, high rents also almost 1700$ for one
bhk ,whereas on an average you can make 2000 $ /month ,but taxes are high even in low wages ,in high wages more high taxes , high car
insurance plus high phone plus interntet plus grocery , no taste of
indian vegetable & indian food ,its a big problem if you are a
vegetarian, no specific job industry & 97% warehouse jobs which pay
little also 99% sardars drive truck but truck is a very hard job esp in
winter ,very hard to get good paying jobs & even if you get after marathon trials there is no guarantee of retaining it you can be fired next month , & other jobs won't pay
that much only illiterate people can do , no social life ,even no
personal life as women become very weird after coming to canada &
lots of divorces happens in indian people after coming to canada due to job issue ,money issue , house work issue, sponsoring parents issue, ego issue ,character issue , also boys coming here can't marry canadian girls as they are worst than virus & when then they have to go to india to marry as they have no other option left there the girl touches boys feet even to come to canada & then when the girl comes here in canada then immediately dumps the boy & brings her own parents & lives there after happily as some indian girls(not all) nowadays just wants to come to canada anyhow by hook or by crook & makes such kind of helpless boys as their soft targets & the poor boys here becomes their easy victims as women right & women favoring laws are very strong in canada & are very partial to men here in canada ,you will hear divorces very common in canada as drinking coffee ,people
of canada are very dead & shows no emotions like indians are & when asked replies very deadly - "not too bad" . also when
kids grow up they have no feelings or any kind of emotions for their indian parents in canada as they
don't know what is indian culture as indian culture means respect love & care for parents but they don't what is this? they think this is bull shit , also super worst medical system with 20
hours waiting in emergency plus doctors will never give you any medicine
due to legal fear also you will never get timely treatment or even a
medicine like india, also specialist doctor appointments will take 6
months in canada while you can see specialist doctor daily if you want
in india , dental & eye is private but very costly only if you have
work insurance, no servants or maids like india so you have to do all jobs
like cleaning house, cooking, laundry ,dishwashing by yourself even if
you are coming from 8 hour job which is very tiring , canada is only
heaven for punjabis as punjabis can do dark black labour very easily due to their very super strong body & are most of them are hardly 8th class pass, so they feel very proud even in doing black labour jobs ,& now canada is just unofficially punjab ,you will see everywhere punjabi speaking ,punjabis hanging around like village of punjab, its better to take a train ticket of 500 rs to go to punjab in india then to spend 1 lakh rupees in flight & go to punjab or canada (canada's real unofficial name is punjab ) & just lifting big boxes like big stones & hearing chak de fatte from punjabis anywhere you go in canada, punjabis are very very nice & very very helpful & are like perfect as god but this is not the subject here , for indians coming to canada from other states of india except punjab they have to be very very careful while coming to canada .

Welcome to Canada. This vlog should be an eye opener for those getting crazy to immigrate to Canada. Healthcare is not free in Canada. We pay for it through taxes. Also availability is extremely poor. Getting access to first doctor is a challenge. Forget about getting a second opinion. And even though doctors might be good, treatment certainly gets affected due to too much stress on the system.

    • @amitmaheshwari4892

    • @NK-di8uz
      @NK-di8uz 3 года назад +2

Actually, it is all three. Laid back attitude from healthcare providers, detail oriented and too much stress on the system. Too much stress gets caused because some people unnecessarily add to the queue as health care is free. But the biggest problem is not allowing foreign trained doctors to practice. Canadian medical fraternity wants to maintain a monopoly on residency seats. Along with that, Canada having a socialist mindset, for majority population, free health care assurance is quite important. Therefore no Government takes the risk of introducing private health care which again comes with its own set of problems as in India.

@@Ghumtaram healthcare is one issue. Healthcare in India is instantly available but you would be lucky if you get honest providers. Healthcare in Canada is honest because it is all state sponsored. However, sometimes instant availability of Healthcare becomes important and again, it depends on a person's situation. Other than poor health care, Canada is certainly a far better country to live in compared to India. If nothing else, one can enjoy clean air and water. Besides, other than such emergencies, people usually do not fall sick in Canada because it is a hyperclean country.

I have been several times to the ER for myself as well as my kids. Yes, it takes long, sometimes 2 to 10 hours depending on staff, how many patients or how busy, and your level of emergency. It also depends on how many patients came through ambulatory care. We do pay for health care through our taxes, but it is definitely not the same as private health care. Yes, pre-covid you could wait with the patient. It is normal to be asked the questions 3 times since first is registration, then nurse and last doctor. The health care in Canada is good in my mind as even people who are poor can get the health care they need.
If you call 911 and get the ambulance or paramedics, there is a cost. I have had experience for my daughter. It is the best service. The police come too, so don't get scared when about 4 police cars show up, it can be intimidating and everyone asks the same questions. The paramedics were amazing, made my daughter feel comfortable.
Get well soon and take care.

My experience was the worst and I also had to go through the same frustrating situation. I had to take IV by sitting on the chair near the washroom. I can understand the situation of Manpreet as well, as my husband also used to wait outside in cold for 6 to 7 hours. Pls take care of yourself as much as possible so that you don't have to face the same emergency room again. Get well soon.

My brother was about to get his health-card in a week. We lived 10 min away from a hospital but we both were very new to Canada and also alone at home, didn’t know we could call an Uber and take him to the the ER. He had a sudden excruciating pain in his stomach at midnight. Called 911 3-4 times and they didn’t dispatch an ambulance for one hour or so. Finally after calling several times they arrived. While my brother was in pain and vomiting blood, the hospital staff didn’t care about the patient, only cared about the health card. I begged them to treat him first and we will pay for it later. The entire night they kept him and after 4 hours the doctor came and ordered some tests. The nurses and the doctor treated him as if he is lying. In fact, one of the nurses came and told my brother who was on bed without any pain medication that he “wasted tax payers money by calling an ambulance,” which in fact we paid for the next day, and paid the hospital bill too which was over $1000 for a night with no diagnosis. The nurses kept coming, laughing at my brother who was in excruciating pain. Hard to believe, I know, but it was shocking for me at that time. The tests were “clear”, and they said pain was in his head. Turns out the doctor in the ER read the results wrong and it was a matter of extreme kidney stones. This was in Oakville in 2017. The staff was extremely racist towards us. Just assumed we were brown and wouldn’t pay.

Here also if you go to emergency minimum waiting is 4 hrs but average they will take 2.5 to 3 hrs to take first step and in the mean time 4-5 nurses will come and will ask you the same question again n again.. Also they will try their level best to convince you that u r all right.. And still if you need specialist then it will take 3 months minimum to get an appointment... Yes U R absolutely correct they feel emergency only when U R dying.. Matlab usme bhi u need to prove U R dying.. 😂😂.. Healthcare in Canada is single payer system, where it's free, but resources are limited.
One way to control the cost is to complicate and control the licenses for RNs and Physicians, so that we can cut cost. Canada population grow huge in last 5 years (especially in GTA/GVA), but the hospital capacity haven't increased.
However, same does not apply to Dentist/pharmacist/Physiotherapist as they are out of pocket expenses

Back home when you r in India ,you are financially sound and usually go to private set up, pay good and things look ok .

This is not the desirable experience of course, but you made the mistake of not calling 911 or not telling a nurse that they need urgent care. If you do not tell the nurses that you are having severe pain, it will take a long time to get checked up. It is based on pain priority and you 100% need to notify doctors about how bad the pain is.
