Off topic, but I really like the format of your ball review videos. I like the "throw 5 shots, talk about it, repeat..." This keeps the viewer interested instead of the boring "shot after shot after shot" snoozefest that a lot of other people's videos are.
Lius, your Phase 4 comparison sold me and I just had it drilled. Best Ball in my arsenal without a doubt. This ball rolls and reacts to give me a huge area to work in. Great choice. Thank you..
I just got my Phaze 4 not that long ago and my scores are up i just shot my second 600 series with it last week in my league and im averaging 170+ with it, definitely a ball that I would recommend to people if you want an alternative for the Phase 2 or 5
What I have noticed from watching your earlier videos to now is how much smoother your approach is, also you lay the ball down way lower, closer to the lane than you use to. You threw the ball out further in the past (Like I do now) Everything you do now looks better imho.
Been trying to convince myself I DO NOT NEED A PHASE 2....Its not working every video and bowling person has told me its the benchmark of the benchmarks...I'm going to go broke soon buying bowling balls...thanks for the work and nice job again.
Thanks man!! I don’t advocate for everyone to buy every ball. They are tools and not everyone needs every single tool. With that being said the p2 is definitely the benchmarks or benchmarks!
Just a few ideas and things to try. Holding a heavy object closer to your body tends to relieve muscle and grip pressure. Also, supporting the 85-90% of the ball weight in the left hand in your stance will have the same effect. You should notice more relaxation in your swing and less grip pressure.
I'm gonna try this out tomorrow night myself. Slight modification to my pushoff. Anything to get more accurate...got to make up for lack of revs somehow
Hey Feddy, revs come from the speed of thumb exiting the thumb hole and the longer the fingers stay in, the more revs. Axis rotation is different from revs. Have you ever seen a person with very little down lane motion with 430 revs? This is due to clean release with minimal axis rotation i.e. coming up the back of the ball. Getting out of the thumb quicker is related to less squeeze which is directly related to grip pressure and muscled swing. Try playing with tape in your thumb hole because if the thumb is too large, squeeze will happen. If the pitch of the thumb is not correct, squeeze will happen. Somewhat of a trial and error process. Short spans require less reverse pitch and more forward and larger spans require more reverse and less forward. Lastly, I know most people house bowlers that I coach focus on power, speed and revs, but don't under-estimate the power of looking and watching your ball cross your target. How many house bowlers do you see get lost once lanes transition. If you don't watch your ball motion and target, then adjusting on transition is guess work. Keep up the good videos Luis.
I squeeze tf out of my ball but stop squeezing on the downswing. It's a bad habit I guess but I bowl better doing so. I think for revs you just need to have a cup and practice releasing like a yoyo. Like 1 step practice. Then make sure the ball is coming out after your slide. Not during the slide.
You asked about your game and any helpful comments. My advice to you, Luis, is to work on your swing and timing. Try relaxing your grip pressure and allowing the ball to swing your arm. It appears that your arm swing has more muscle than I would like to see. At the top of your swing, you will notice your swing bumps out which is a result of timing and muscled swing. So, relax the grip and let the ball swing your arm. Lastly, notice you have a tendency to fall off the shot.... Remember, timing + swing equals a good release and posting. If you have an issue with release consistency and posting, it is almost always related to timing and swing.... Hopefully this helps. Keep up the great videos.
just got my first phaze 2 i have maybe 6 games on it. ooo its the strongest ball i have ever had and in my houses i struggle to keep it to the right. but i will learn how to open up my angles with this ball.
I know your throwing style is to throw from the left through the middle and then it hooks in but could you do a few shots from throwing down the right far arrow for us bowlers who use that line ?
It looks as though you are not bringing your swing and hand out to the right of your body like you did previously. Your swing is more compact and less motion of your wrist and hand. I think it will improve your accuracy quite a bit. Best of luck, good review of the Phazes.
@ Luis Napoles Just an idea dont know if youv done it yet, but you should really do league vlog/videos. What your seeing, when and why you change balls etc. I think that would be awesome, and funny as heck as well. 😂
Luis, Love your videos and reviews. Keep up the great work man. I do have a question for you? I obviously know you think the phase 2 is the goat but what is your opinion when comparing the phase 2 versus the axiom? Just got the specter and love it. Your reviews and input have helped me greatly especially as a newer bowler figuring out this game and the tools that go with it.
Been doing this lately - definitely has helped, especially on spares and specifically going at the 10 pin, which I've had a psychosis about for a while now.
I drilled a Phaze 2 it didn’t roll well for me idk if it’s how it was drilled or what i tried different surfaces n everything couldn’t get it to roll well for me it used all its energy to get to pins
Yes Luis you already know have Phase 2 its sweet getting another Phase 4 hopefully this week pre ordered had a Phase 3 I herd there on back order staffers where I live can't get em . Thanks 😊
I think it's just redundant at this point. You have the P4 with the same core, and the Spectre with the same cover. From what my local [Storm] PSO has said, the P3 will be discontinued very soon. He also said the Dark Code would be, as well. Not so sure about that one though.
Here is your best bet for being able to use a particular bowling ball, this is 38years of experience talking . As muscled as Luis’s swing is he is to me representing the typical house bowler but has developed a reasonable ability stay with certain parameters that allow him to stay around the pocket. There is a split second at the release area where a bit of hand trickery is needed to achieve the newer release techniques. And yes there is more than one way to increase rev rates and accuracy but the number one reason 85% of bowlers struggle with rev rate is Upper body muscled swings. Learn to let your HAND follow the ball from start to finish and you will begin to see a huge difference in accuracy and revs. THIS TAKES TIME>>>>>>> Good luck to you all and God bless
