I’ve been using mine for about a year - I like it quite a bit. Will be taking it on my upcoming thru hike attempt of the AT.

This thing is baller. Side sleeper so I never inflated my pad to max anyways.

I would love to actually know how effective it is, how much power it requires, etc...

Hey! Thanks for checking out this video! Power usage is stated in the video's caption and on our site here: www.garagegrowngear.com/products/pad-pal-air-pump-by-rex-creations Note that it's an ultralight air pump, and you have to fill up the sleeping pad the rest of the way with a few of your own breaths at the end, which he's transparent about. If you're looking for a stronger pump, we recommend checking out the Flextail ones! Not all gear is for everyone, but there's always something that's perfect for you and your needs out there somewhere -- cheers!

Curious if this fan could operate at a low capacity long term to aid in condensation control.

The whole point of a pump is so as not to introduce breath in the pad which can cause mold!

Hey! Thanks so much for watching this video! There are for sure limitations with this ultralight air pump! If you don't mind a few of your own breaths at the end, then it's a great *ultralight* option. Since this isn't sounding like it's for you, take a look at the Flextail air pumps - they will probably suit you better. Cheers!

    It's not 95%, more like 75

I definitely have some bias here because i'm the dork who makes these. So, you know, keep that in mind as you read this:
But I base that number off the quantity of breaths it takes to inflate a pad without a Pad-pal vs the quantity it takes with one. It takes about 30-40 breaths to inflate a Thermarest Neoair NXT regular depending on ones lung capacity; And it only takes 1-2 breaths to top up the same pad after using the Pad-pal. So the 95% is my attempt at a conservative estimate, since on average the total reduction in the amount of breaths one has to do is over 95% for most pads. The Nemo Tensor is the exception, it needs an average of 46 breaths to inflate and takes about 3 breaths to top off after a using a pad-pal on it, so that puts it in the 94 percentile of work reduced. For reference my lung capacity is 6.7 Liters, which is slightly above average. I only know this random fact about myself because I enjoy freediving as a hobby. XD
Hope that helps, I know there isn't much info on these yet. I think the best way to categorize this thing is to think of it not as being designed for people who already use inflators and love them, but rather being designed for the people who don't already use inflators because the weight of the existing offerings weren't worth the convenience.
      Cheers!

That is a very funny statement... What the Pad-pal should be thought of is something designed to inflate your pad so that you don't need to blow into it. If it can't do that well enough, there's plenty of other options on the market that also fail to do the bare minimum. Anyone who has really put thought into buying this sort of device is looking for a way to not have to introduce bacteria (human breath) into their sleeping pad. Nobody cares about saving a couple breaths, they want to do away with them entirely. Very sad to see that you didn't catch on to this. Look at the reviews for every other "inflator" in the backpacking market and try to tell me that you addressed the majority's concerns. Nobody main gripe is that their inflator was too heavy, they say that it didn't do the inflating well enough to justify buying/carrying. I think they'll say the same about this product.

LMAO that pad was nowhere near 95% full
I'm not going to buy this product if all it can do is get my pad to a sad squishy state that needs my bacteria laced breath to top it off. That's EXACTLY what anyone looking at these pumps is trying to avoid.

Hey! Thanks for watching this video! Check out some of our other replies as well as the reply from Tyler, the dude who makes these! We have recommendations for other pumps that may suit you better if you're looking for 100% full sleeping pads instead of this *ultralight* option. Cheers and happy trails!!
