John Denver is smiling from ear to ear behind the pearly gates. This song has been covered by countless respected vocalists who did it credit. BUT..........So simple. So pure. So sweet. This version is heavenly!!!! Goosebumps even on my third listen!!!!
It’s extraordinarily difficult to take an amazingly simple/pure song and lyric created by a multifaceted generational master and ‘make it your own’ without destroying the entire piece.
These guys did it!
Ditto what they said! Tiny Habits is music as medicine for these times of uncertainty, and unrest. Play and repeat. The antidote to stress.
Great comment, Paul. I don't think it could be put any better. 👍👍
It’s perfection.
Far out!!
Didn’t have plans to cry on a Monday morning but here we are
same same but diff day!
Was thinking right from the start, how long before I start!
This amazing band is filled with talented singers and musicians, but what really impresses me are the fine and unique harmonies. This is a wonderful arrangement and performance.
Bridget: what a superb musician. One of my favorite bassists ever.
Love the Hofner thump. She plays it with ease, just right for the song and singing.
A number of people may take the lead on singing, but make no mistake: This is Bridget's band. I've never seen a bass player drive a group the way she does.
Very pretty. The Hofner bass is a nice touch, especially for us old-timers who are still Beatle-maniacs. Great harmonies. Keep up the good work.
Saw Bridget do a solo show with just her Hofner. She says Paul McCartney is her favourite bassist.
Rachel’s rich tone with the lightness of their harmonies 🥹🔥 They do a great job blending together.
I've been listening to music for 74 years. I don't care for covers of my favorite songs, with very few exceptions (Disturbed doing "Sounds of Silence" comes to mind). This remake is one of those rare exceptions. Very melodious voices is one reason. And here's one I'll bet you've never heard before- I like the fact they enunciate. We're all heard way too many songs that even after decades, we still don't know what the correct lyrics of the song are. Oftentimes it is because whomever produced the record cranked up the instrumental parts. Anyhow, this has gone on too long now (rambling lonely old man syndrome). Job well done ladies and gents. I now subscribe to Lake Street Dive.
Lake Street version of Lola is really 👍
Rachael could blow the lid off this song…
But she doesn’t.
Greatest vocalist of our time.
I stopped Thanksgiving cooking. Grabbed my headphones and just sat and listened! Beautiful voices, the harmony….everything. Incredible. Thank you
Listened later because Thanksgiving means Alice's Restaurant.
@ yes that’s always a good listen :)
Is there a button that allows me to like this 100 times? ❤
Rachel's voice is such a gift!
Man, those vocals slay me. Rachel Price has always caught my attention. This rendition with the backup singers is heavenly. John Denver would be proud of them. ❤💙💜💯
Bridget in the background laying it down. I love the way she plays.
Can’t get any better, no need to ever do another cover of this great song. Period.
The greatest Bass player of our time.
Best version since Denver sang it with Mama Cass.
I used to sing this song riding my bike with a banana seat, streamers waving in the wind. Thanks for taking me back.
in a word. Wow! Rachel....NEVER misses. The harmonies are otherworldly.
Peter, Paul & Mary took this song to #1. I wish the same for you. Mary and Rachel share clarion vocal distinction. You recognize them instantly.
I've been playing (guitar) and singing that song for almost 50 years and we do a pretty good rendition, often requested. But this... this brought me to tears. So simply elegant & beautiful. Your harmonies are wonderful. Thank you for sharing your voices with us. So glad I stumbled onto this video!
Best cover of this song I've ever heard. Fan-fucking-tastic.
Judah’s run at 1:50 the last note passes through his passaggio (flips into falsetto) and the tone is golddddd 🔥
Just doesnt seem physically possible to nail harmonies that perfectly. 💯
This is nothing short of pure magic.
Brian Wilson would be proud of these harmonies as would Peter, Paul, & Mary. This version breathes new life into a classic song. RIP John Denver & Mary Travers.
That. Was. Immaculate. 🥺
Akie pulled off the performance of a lifetime. 😂😂 Beautiful cover!!!
Listening on Christmas EVE 2024!! Thinking of my mom and love ones beyond the stars!!! She LOVED Mama Cass, John Denver and sing this song to me and my brother when we were little - sit us on her lap in the kitchen listening to it on the radio - and the old Black and White TV --some variety show when people sing, dance and tell FUNNy jokes. Ahhhh your voices brought us together in a truly tender moment of connection beyond space and time. LOVE YOU MOM!!! Thank YOU Tiny Habits for the warmth of LOVE and GRACE tonight!!! What a GIFT!!!!
Rachel’s tone is just so pure singing lead on this. The harmonies are lovely.
Sonic perfection.
TINY HABITS! Everything you touch is better as a result of your artistry! Also, that bass work is spectacular!!!
Got Tiny Habits in the house with lake Street dive. Dream session😮
The trill on the phrase they don't mean a thing is breathtaking 😢❤
I need this to be on spotify so desperately
When two of your favorites blend together like milk and chocolate and it's better than when you were a kiddo.
This shows the band’s ability to play an amazing array of genres!
Bruh. Tiny Habits goes HARD.
Stunning harmonies and acoustics in that room, with just the perfect amount of accompaniment.
I've got to send this to my sister, she's going to love it!
Harmonies like waterfalls…how your voices put color into the wind….can’t wait for the album!
This song stirs a couple of emotive memories of loneliness. Lovely tune. Just beautiful.
another song you intuitively recorded ... With the loss of another Peter, Paul & Mary member. Our world shrinks and love is more, with music. You do this song just beautifully.
I can't listen to this song without remembering 911. Just brings tears to my eyes. Beautiful rendition.
Harmony, Sweet Harmony. What a Beautiful rendition of a Great song
Very lovely, especially the harmonies!
Oh my. You lit up the world again with this one🎉❤
Oh, Rachael, this is where you belong. Please keep doing more of this. Harmony is everything.
Wow. This gave me goosebumps! Such a gentle rendition of this song.
That was nice way to embrace John Denver and Peter, Paul and Mary.
Sweet mother. Y'all are such a blessing.
I marvel at the “unplugged” simplicity and clarity of this video production and how it exposes and highlights each individual artist’s special gifts.
very beautiful
This is Lake Street Dive...Amazing performance, arrangements, as usual, but then making a well-known cover all their own and only something that Lake Street Dive can do. Wonderful.
just goosebump inducing, wow, what a version!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This collaboration makes me so happy, on such a deep level. Thank you all. ❤️
The Hofner Bass is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Great harmonies. Well done.
As a big jd fan, i can hear him saying Faarr out man!!! With a huge smile on his face.
Every single person in that room has SO much talent!
Beautiful cover
Sentimental feeling runs long and deep in this song.
A camp fire girl, camp counselor brought her guitar and would sing us kids to sleep with this song 🎶 long ago.
I never forgot the beautiful words and the romantic energy it had.
Really surprised in later adult life that John Denver wrote it.
It's so nice to hear Bridget in a different vibe 🥰 One of my favorite bassists hands down! 🙌
JD is my fave folk singer of ALL time. Rachel is a goosebump inducing singer as is this Lake Street collaboration!
That unison at the end is fire.
The harmony was heavenly beautiful cover!
Beautiful harmonies and wonderful rendition
Having seen Peter Paul and Mary perform this, in Boston’s no less, as a kid, I love this version too!
Beautiful guys! Judah, Cinya and Maya, this century's Peter, Paul &Mary!
Glad I found this today. What a beautiful cover.
OMG, what a lovely treat. Thank you. I am getting all misty listening to that.
The melodies of his songs are so beautiful, pure and from the heart. You all performed it from the heart and gave me feels as I sang along. Makes me want to get back into playing guitar and singing. Gotta stop thinking about what the crowd gives back to me and focus on what the sing can give to them and do my best to help them have whatever that means for them. See myself as the portal for the song, not worry about whether they will throw my insecurities back at me or not. If they do trhat it just means they are lost in their own feelings and could use some good vibes, not anything I need to worry about :)
WOW!!!!!! Thank you for this great performance of one of the best songs ever written.
Absolutely soul and mind refreshing! Well done Lake Street Dive!! Thank you!
They are truly the gold standard. I never tire of them
Belle harmonie Merci 😌🙏🕉
Wow. Would love to hear them sing Southern Gospel or Bluegrass.
The pure artistry of these musicians...combined with the consummate tunesmith, John Denver. Magical would be an understatement...
Beautiful ❤
Just gorgeous. It is easily as good as the PP&M version; different- I like very much the minimalist musical accompaniment, and those voices! It takes me back to school assemblies in the '60s when this song had a poignancy brought about by those souls leaving to fight in Viet Nam. I wonder who these dear young folk are singing for. Keep singing; you won't be young for long, I can testify to that!
Sweet harmonies. Used to sing this song with my mom. Missing her. Lovely cover.
Immaculate.
I grew up on this song.... Brilliant 😊
crossover of the year
Cinya is my favorite of all time.
Solid vocal and minimalist bass/guitar backing make this a wonderful listening experience. Bravo.
Phew. That makes the knees wobble.
Beautifully done !
that was so beautiful!
I mean....Just lovely. I could watch LSD all day. The Tiny Habits gang, whom I've never heard off, also lovely. Great little solo bit by the fella, there.
On another note, nice camera work.
honey for the ears and the soul thank you
wow this is so beautiful....
My goodness. My pleasure. My gratitude.
Stunningly beautiful arrangement of an iconic song. Thank you for blessing my ears with this!
Those voices are insane, gave me chills. Backing musicians gave perfect support.
Thanks!
I have no words. Simply lovely.
The harmonies at 3:29….just beautiful. Amazing cover, thank you for this
How Sweet the Sound, Thank You All, this song has always ment change coming.... Smiles for Miles...so beautifully sung
Beautiful blind quartet.
How damn good is this!!
Too good.
Damn fine excellence! Magic!🪄
Beautiful rendition of this song.
Lake Street & TH, this is exquisite. Just sitting here smiling and weeping at the same time. Gorgeous vocal arrangement. Thank you for this.
The excitement I had teeing the title of this video!!! Ahhhh!
i've been fan of you since the first Boston sidewalk. Now I'm listening to this brand new beautiful piece with my 3 daughters. The oldest of 7 wants me to tell you that you make very good songs!
Judah Mayowa, Cinya Khan, and Maya Rae < BRAVO, all of you!!
