  • Giving our Roland TR-8 a workout with a 3-3-2 clave pattern from our Stolperbeats #eurorack #drum #sequencer. Really enjoying the TR-8's digital take on the #classic TR-808, it's really hands on and there's much #joy to be found in the master #effects section of this almost decade-old machine.
In this sketch, #Stolperbeats sends its shuffled drum sequence and tempo sync to the ‪@rolandglobal‬ TR-8. The onboard scatter effect takes the audio and flips and reverses it, with the kick and snare passing unaffected through the individual outputs. This adds a cool layer of subdivisions, ratchets and glitches to the mix. At the end of the effects chain sits the #electroharmonix memory boy, an old favourite ‪@EHX‬ bucket brigade #delay pedal that can get quite crunchy and #lofi.
If you are interested in picking up a Stolperbeats, a handful of our favourite modular synth shops have a box of freshly built modules incoming:
‪@signal-sounds‬ in the UK, ‪@schneidersladen_berlin‬ in Berlin (DE / EU), as well as a little later this month ‪@NightlifeElectronics‬ in Vancouver (Canada) and ‪@PerfectCircuit‬ in Burbank, CA (USA).
If enjoy soldering DIY modules or you want to hang out with us and nerd out about synths, meet us next weekend at Modular Day Barcelona 2023, the 10th anniversary of the synth meet organised by the #lovely people at ‪@Befacosynth‬ -

I’ve never used modular setups before. Is there a rack that hold the stolper at a single unit? Is that what I’m seeing here? Can it link up to the SP404MK2? Thanks!

What you see here is just the module itself on the table (probably not a good idea longterm). To run it you need Eurorack power, at least a +12V / -12V supply, and some sort of case - 4ms makes tiny cases called "pod" that would fit a small number of modules. Stolperbeats does not make sounds itself, but you can hook it up to Eurorack drums and MIDI devices like the Roland Tr-8 on the table. The SP404MK2 works as well.

@@401dB Yeah maybe. Sorry : D Happy to answer more questions. TL;DR to your original question - yes, look up 4MS pod and yes, works with SP404mk2
