Sanderson! I just love the Stormlight Archive, and I agree with you--it's a refreshing take, both for seasoned fantasy readers and newcomers alike; somehow, he managed to make such an amazingly complex world very digestible. I have seen the Ember Blade mentioned across RUclips, but somehow never get to read it; after this video, I know I should! The Wheel of Time I mildly, low-key disagree with you, mostly because it's a huge commitment to read. And of course Abercrombie! That said, I found it refreshing that you were also recommending indie authors!
I have only read The Harry Potter series and that is it I’m a beginner don’t no where to start I fancy Sarah J Hass hope I have that name right but too scared to try
It’s quite the dedication and knowing books 7-10 aren’t great but still hundreds of pages long is a real turn off. BUT the first three or so books are great
@lukesblog2 I'm okay with long series in general (Discworld is a favourite 😂) but knowing that at least 4 of the books are a bit rubbish, and that even hardcore fans say that, is just a no for me.
I've read the first 4 WOT books and so far, the fourth one is the best (not that the others were not good, I just enjoyed the 4th one the most). Looking forward to continuing with the series.
Try Phantastes and Lilith by George MacDonald, the Romances of William Morris, C,S Lewis's Deep Space Trilogy, The❤ King of Elflands Daughter by E R Eddison, and Charles Williams' seven magical mysteries. But only if you prefer intelligent literature rather than trashy pulp crap!

Thanks! Yeah, I’m hoping to read some more indie this year!
Great stuff, as ever. I was familiar with a couple of those but four I shall certainly be checking out. 🙂👍🏻
Great to hear Martin!

Maybe try the Throne of Glass series by Sarah J Maas?
Yes definitely start with TOG series
The only ones I've not read yet are Ryan Cahill and Robert Jordan - honestly with Jordan, I not particularly interested in trying 🤷🏻♀️
