    Is this a R110 model?
B driving mode mate is the one pedal driving it activates regen as you let off automatically. It’s bloody great.

I've had my Zoe a month now and am loving it. there's no range issue on my commute to work and the "fuel" is so cheap on an overnight EV tariff, I can thrash it without guilt. Handles and goes way better than its looks would have you believe.

11 seconds to 60 seems a bit slow to me as the Leaf does it in around 7.8 seconds , I only drive a little i10 and it does 60 in 11 secs so yeah not brilliant but you probably pay less charging than i do for petrol

I drive a Gen 1 Zoe 63 Reg and we do not drive them slowly, we drive them sensibly The way you were driving you burn up energy more than necessary. A smooth steady take off uses less energy. And that wierd noise you are talking about is the pedestrian warning sound. We are not boy racers we are sensible drivers.

Purely for entertainment purposes, I wouldn't drive like that if it was my everyday car, however if I was to drive like that I'd expect poor range 😅

I definitely drive my Zoe like that, and it's heaps of fun! My 10-year-old one is about 100kg lighter (though it comes with a battery that's less than half the size, modern battery/motor tech would easily drop another 150kg from it). And it comes with the ever-important manual handbrake. So that helps a bit as well. 😁

That's what it looked like after the owner (after me) put it back to original, when it was mine it was made to look like a facelift (phase 2)
Mine was a phase 1.5 (very late phase 1)

So different from my Zoe of 2014, specially in the left. The chassis is the same. It will change with R5.
I drive it like a racer in a city, with only 89CV.
Some new cars do not have heat pump and tambor brakes in serie.

I'd love to try it up against my old CRX, I think the instant torque and no gear changes makes it feel faster than it really is, off the line though this would leave my CRX behind for sure 😃

we just bought our first electric car as a run around - a 2018 Zoe and I haven't had as much fun driving since the Ford Orion RS that I used to have in the 90s. Acceleration for the Zoe is great up to around 50, then it slows down 50-70. The silence is similar to my well-damped and insulated BMW X1, but as I have music blasting out, don't really notice it.

LOL at the Fiesta trying to keep up , the 0-60 on one of those is like 12 seconds there was no way he or she was gonna keep up , If it was a Motorbike behind then id be worried lol

I hoon around in my Zoe, and it's heaps of fun! My 10-year-old one is about 100kg lighter than the one you're driving (though it comes with a battery that's less than half the size, modern battery/motor tech would easily drop another 150kg from it). And it comes with the ever-important manual handbrake. So that helps a bit as well. 😁
Even take it to the eventual car meet, with 5 people in it, even if I'm the only electric car there we're still having a great time! 😂
Steering feels really direct, and handling is great with all that weight down-low. Drives a bit like a go-kart. Mine also has a slight bit of motor-whine on full throttle, which has a similar noise to what you'd expect from a supercharger or straight-cut gears, increasing in pitch as it goes towards the 12200rpm rev-limit. Not very loud maybe, but definitely adds a bit to the experience and it does sound good.
Could probably sound a bit like this if I removed some insulation (and added a manual gearbox haha). ruclips.net/video/YJ0CU0-PzQc/видео.htmlsi=9KmTXmPTRVUMEIVo
(Also yes I can confirm it will do little wheelspins on dirt, on wet asphalt, and while mashing the throttle exiting roundabouts from low speeds). Leave all the ICE cars in the dust behind me at every red light.

@@RoryRevs Ioniq 5 is an awesome car, haven't driven it but I think I'd personally think it's too heavy for it to be a lot of fun to drive. It's crazy how much interior space it has though, with the wheelbase of a Mercedes S-class, and 18-minute fast-charging.

I dont get it either every time im behind someone in a very fast EV like a Taycan or Model S Tesla they are pootling around at 30 mph in a 50 zone I can understand if its an 80 year old driver but ive seen 30 year old businessmen driving them really slow , Lee the Macmaster good example LMAO i noticed he never uses the sport mode in his Taycan and still somehow is complaining its slow haha I would say some petrol engine cars are catching up to Small EVs nowadays , test drove a new Corsa a few weeks back i think it was a 1.4 turbo and that did like 60mph in under 7 seconds and for me thats really fast and it is addictive quickly got stopped by the plod for driving too quick LOL

Definitely with you on EV drivers driving unnecessarily slow... I get it if you're on a long road trip since you can get more range and spend less time charging, but generally if you're just doing normal commuting and stuff like that then put the damn foot down! I drive a bit more conservatively in an EV, but honestly I don't change my driving habits much at all. I feel like if you can't drive how you want to drive then don't get the car...

I have been following the EV revolution from the beginning of Tesla, and at this point EV's are inevitable. The best selling car in the world (car not just EV) is now electric, and are gaining more and more market share every year. The days of ICE cars are numbered, and in the next few years it will be obvious to everyone.
As for driving a Tesla book a test drive. I did and they let me loose with it for an hour. There is no hard sell, they simply ask what you think of it. Trust me a Tesla is a very different beast and dominates the EV market for good reason. It has it all, range, performance, software and importantly a dedicated charging network which is fast and simple to use.
If you do book a Tesla test drive, make sure you make a video of it, if you like the Zoe, you are going to love a Tesla.

Beware: the Renault Zoe is not a good example of an electric car. It's a great EV, but not a good *example* of an EV; they specifically made it drive like a normal ICE car (in particular, the regen off-throttle is almost non-existent and it only really regens when you start pressing the brake). My first ever EV drive was a Renault Zoe, I decided EVs drive great and I wanted one, then I got a nasty surprise moving on to test drive a BMW i3 I wanted to buy, which felt like it was emergency braking every time I let off the throttle. By the end of the test I was getting used to it but it wasn't nearly as nice to drive.

    • @RoryRevs
      @RoryRevs  Год назад

Oh wow really!? That's interesting, I quite liked the Zoe but did wonder what it'd be like to own one every day. I'd definitely consider an electric car commuting but for fun I just can't let my ICE vehicles go. My Mopeds, Cars and Friends cars are too important to me :D
      Thanks for the comment!

I find the regen in the new Zoe works perfectly well in B mode virtually allowing for one pedal driving. The car will not come to a complete stop however when you take your foot of the accelerator but will slow to around 5-6 mph.

So when I went from pokey petrol 13 years ago to a diesel I found that torquey.
Then I got my leaf 3 years ago. It shifts. 0-60 ~ 8s, wheelspins out wet junctions if giving it beans.
But I tried a model 3 (standard, not performance) on a test drive at a car event.
Decided to overtake a slow car on a NSL road, Holy Sh!t!!
My head was pasted to the headrest and when I looked over at the speedo, there was a bigger number than I thought. I well cleared past granny out to the shops.
      Give it a try.
