I know it's a little late to tell you this now but you can make a flat steel plate to hold the hub and use a lathe to cut the welds out . it make replacing the shells a piece of cake and leaves a perfect surface for the weld when you reassemble the wheels

Does you have to weld the 3 peace wheels or can you just bolt them together? And when you just bolt does you have to aligning them or are the bolts fitbolts?
The bolts align the parts together , I could has chose told weld them but then it doesn’t give me the option to later on take them apart to put bigger or smaller barrels again

They no longer need to be welded cause of advances on silicone

Welding them is old school technology., the sealant they make these days works perfect which is how 99% of wheel shops do their stuff like that as well

Oh yeah, and could just spin the rim around to throw the sparks out that large open bay door right behind the machine.
Mayve next time, leave the faces, bolt it to the car put it in gear and then cut it, if you have a lathe use it instead
