This video details my real Webley based (see video) EE-3 Blaster, and my obsession with making custom display stands. Summon your inner bounty hunter, lets get to it!
Webely Flare gun becomes an EE-3
    ----------------------------------------------------------
The prop Boba Fett uses in the films is a modified Webley & Scott № 1 Mark "I" Flare Gun, built for use by British troops during WWI. To make it into the weapon of an intergalactic bounty hunter, prop makers added a rifle scope, some detail parts to the stock and either an MPP Microflash or Heiland Synchronar flash unit protruding from the end of the barrel. There were also some blocky detail pieces added between the scope mounts and the body of the gun.
In Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi, the Webley & Scott was used again, only this time more detail was added, primarily to the barrel. Presumably this was because the prop would be featured prominently in the skiff battle scenes where Luke Skywalker slices it in half with his lightsaber. The Heiland flash unit was gone and a beefier barrel with ribbed hand grips was built over the existing flare gun barrel. The same scope was used, but for some reason it was mounted pointing in the opposite direction from the Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back version. The scope was also mounted farther back on the gun and slightly lower. The blocky detail parts on the scope mounts were also eliminated.
    -------------------------------------------------------------
    The EE-3 Blaster - Specs + Backstory
    -------------------------------------------------------------
The EE-3 carbine rifle was a blaster that was modeled after the E-11 blaster rifle later used by Imperial stormtroopers. The rifle consisted of a small handle attached to a long circular barrel. An alternate version of this model features a modified scope mounting and hand grips that run along the length of the barrel.
The EE-3 carbine rifle was a model of blaster carbine manufactured by BlasTech Industries. They were used by the bounty hunters Sugi during the Clone Wars. Boba Fett during the Galactic Civil War and Q9-0 during the time of the New Republic. In addition to the carbine's usage by bounty hunters, it was also used by troopers of both the Alliance to Restore the Republic and the Galactic Empire.
It was an optically fitted blaster rifle capable of three-round burst fire at long ranges, but had lower accuracy and stopping power compared to larger rifles.
The EE-4 carbine rifle was the successor to the EE-3; the EE-4 removed the shoulder stock but added a vertical handgrip, as well as having a faster rate of fire, making the EE-4 superior at closer ranges than the EE-3, but at the expense of range.
    Behind the scenes:
    -------------------------------
The EE-3 was first seen being used by bounty hunter Boba Fett
In the 2015 reference book Ultimate Star Wars, the EE-3 carbine rifle was misidentified as "ESB carbine rifle" in its entry in the technology section of the book. However, in the characters section, under the bounty hunter Sugi, it is identified under its name that was introduced in the now non-canon Star Wars Legends line as the "EE-3 carbine rifle."
    -----------------------------------
    Our dude, Boba Fett
    -----------------------------------
"The only time I fail is if you hired me to fail."
    ―Boba Fett
Boba Fett was a clone of Jango Fett, the human male bounty hunter whose genetic code spawned an army of clone troopers during the final years of the Galactic Republic. With his customized Mandalorian armor, deadly weaponry, and the fearsome Slave I as his starship, Boba carried on his "father's" legacy by becoming one of the most feared bounty hunters in the galaxy.
When Jango Fett was hired by the Sith Lord Darth Tyranus, agreeing to become the template for the Grand Army of the Republic, he requested an unaltered clone that he could raise as a son. That "son" was Boba Fett; unlike the clone troopers, all of whom were modified through programming and growth acceleration, Boba was an example of pure genetic replication.
The orphaned Fett grew up in the company of criminals during the Clone Wars. After a brief stint in prison, Fett struck out on his own, working as a bounty hunter alongside the likes of Bossk and Dengar. Over the years, Fett was employed as a mercenary by crime lords as well as the Sith. During the Galactic Civil War, he successfully tracked the Millennium Falcon to Bespin for the Sith Lord Darth Vader, who allowed the bounty hunter to take Captain Han Solo to the Hutt gangster Jabba Desilijic Tiure in 3 ABY.
A year later, the Alliance to Restore the Republic attempted to rescue Solo on Tatooine, where they fought against the Hutt's mercenaries, including Fett, above the Great Pit of Carkoon. During the battle, Solo accidentally slammed a pole into Fett's jetpack, igniting it and causing the bounty hunter to tumble into the man-eating sarlacc pit.

Amazing work! Yeah there’s something not quite satisfying about an acrylic stand. I have a few- but yours makes it come alive. I’ve got some work to do now… thanks!

oh wow! Simple but very effective stand and very appropriate to boot! That stand looks awesome dude! The simplicity of it lends so much to its aesthetic design particularly when the EE-3 is placed on it. I love it.

Yep. As mentioned in the video, this Webley model is slightly diff than screen used. The exact Webley is like $5k alone, unmodified.
