Sesame Seed Ball Recipe - នំក្រូច
    Part 1:
Ingredients and recipe just enough for one package of glutinous flour ( can make about 25-27 fried sesame ball )
    - 3/4 cup peeled split mung bean - (150g)
    - 1 can coconut milk. (400ML)
    - May need a bit more water, depending on how long you soak your bean. ( if need be added 2-3 tbsp of water )
    - 2 tbsp cooking oil or coconut oil (30ML)
    - 1/3 cup 1 tbsp sugar (80g)
    - 1/4 tsp of salt. (1g)
    - 1/4 cup frozen shredded coconut (100g)
Part 1: making the coconut bean filling
( will make 60+ fillings ) as shown in the video.
    - 1 package peel split mung bean - (400g)
    - 1 1//2 cups water. (380-400ML)
    - May need a bit more water, depending on how long you soak your bean.
    - 1 can coconut milk. (400ML)
    - 3 tbsp cooking oil or coconut oil (45ML)
    - 3/4 cup sugar (150g)
    - 1/2 tsp salt. (1g)
    - 1/2 package frozen shredded coconut
    (200g)
Note: 1 whole package of mung bean will make 60+ fry sesame balls. If you are looking to make just enough coconut mung bean filling according to 1 package of glutinous flour, you can go with part 1 of ingredients and recipe on the top recipe.
If you decided to go with the whole package which I would recommend. You can make lots since it takes a lot of time to prepare this filling part. you can always freeze whatever is leftover, so for the next time, you can just mix the dough part. It will save you a lot of time later on.
Instructions: Soak peeled split mung bean for at least 3-4 hrs before cooking it.
    - Bring it to boil and cook it on medium heat for 10 minutes.
    - Note: throughout the whole process stir every few minutes to prevent the bean set in the bottom of the pot and get burned.
    - After 10 minutes, you can lower the heat to low on #3 and cook it for 20 minutes until the bean absorbs all the water.
    - After the 20 minutes, keep the heat on low and add the sugar and salt and set the timer and cook it for 10 more minutes.
    - After 10 minutes, add the shredded young coconut and cook it for the last minutes.
    - Note: setting the timer throughout the whole process will help you track the time, since we can get carried away with the stirring but you don’t have to follow my steps. 😊
Part 2: Ingredients and recipe for the dough
    - 1 package glutinous flour - (400g) (3&1/2 cups)
    - 1/3 cup rice flour - (50g)
    - 1/2 cup of sugar - (100g)
    - 1 can of coconut milk. (400ML)
    - 1/2 tsp salt. (1g)
    - 2 tsp baking powder
Note: If you would like to make more dough according to the whole package of mung bean, you will need 2 & 1/2 package of glutinous flour. My recipe is a 1 to 1 ratio of glutinous flour and can coconut milk. You can adjust other ingredients accordingly.
1 package of glutinous flour will only make about 25-27 good side of fry sesame balls.
    Instructions:
    - mix all the dry ingredients first
    - Dry ingredients are glutinous flour, rice flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder
    - Mix it with the hand mixer to combine all dry ingredients
After combined and mixed dry ingredients, you can add the whole can of coconut milk. Stir the coconut milk first before gradually add in the coconut milk into the dry ingredients.
Have fun making it and if you have any comments or questions, please let me know. 😊

Hi how to avoid the cake from exploding or breaking during frying

    • @LifeWithLY
      @LifeWithLY  3 года назад

Once you drop in the raw sesame balls, make sure to not stir it right away. Allow it to firm up a bit first. At first when you fry it, the dough is too soft so if you turn it too soon, it will break which can cause the explosion.
