I remember buying CD on a pirate market in Kiev back in 2006 when I was around 12. I asked:
- "is there any games like NFS?".
- "YES, here it is: *showing CD of TDU* "
- "Never heard of that. Is that any good?"

It's red, the paint is faded and sunburnt, but hey, it's in good condition and it was actually the first (and to this day only) S-Chassis I've ever seen.
this has to be one of the best underrated games out there.
Game of my childhood. Tried TDU2 later, but the handling made me drop it and install TDU1 with Platinum mod
@@signe_stilett yeah. i personally love tdu 2 and have hundreds of hours on the game, however i agree the handling is horrid

They're fine until you get to ones that are like 30 miles long and you're forced to drive like a grandma for an hour

@@signe_stilett yeah but the traffic AI isn't great so you're very likely to crash, it's very frustrating when it happens close to the finish
@@Issam-od4pg yeah. And elevation changes sending you flying into npc cars is also a classic
I just find it more fun to mostly pedal to the metal when on roads that allow it and restart when I crash

I remember right when i first got my hands on this mod i was only able to get a few hours of playtime in it. The server farm caught fire and burned down and took a little bit to come back. This mod is something special, a labor of love for one of my favorite games. ❤
Wild to me that you never played the OG TDU. This one of my absolute favorite games when I was in middle school, at around 12/13. The fact that they pulled off a game of this scale with this much detail in 2006 was mind blowing to me.

try locking the fps to 60 thats why a lot of buttons dont work for some reason especially when you try to change gear in manual you need to be in 60 for the game to run smooth either way i hope you find out about the hardcore physics those physics are seperate and actually a lot of fun
I just recently replayed through majority of the vanilla version of TDU1 on 360. It's a bit dated but still a lot of fun. It's a beautiful world and can be as chill as you want. Some of the events are not too exciting but everything is at your own pace. I like it.
The ME412 is the fastest car I think but I've never got it as you need to complete every event. I love using the dodge viper and ferrari 575.

Man, this game brings me very good memories of my childhood, I played the PS2 version and I did 100% in it, it's not difficult to finish the game, it's quite an experience, I love this Test Drive version, when I played it, None of my friends believed that a game like this existed, mainly because of the variety of things you could do in this game and because of the size of the map. Only those closest friends who came to my house to play with me knew about it. Definitely good memories!

Yeah the seat problem kind of annoys me, idk why cars will have passengers in random spots and the driver sitting weird. Half the time, the position of my driver/their posture actually changes with the same car just by restarting the game. It's super odd.
This is the only one I’ve played and it was great for it’s time and good car detail

Where did you get that information?
TDU1 and TDU2 used the Twilight Engine, which was Eden Games own engine.
Solar Crown is going to use the KT engine, which was used for the WRC games and is also Kylotonns own engine.

Played this when i was 14, took it from libary for 3 weeks was fun times driving around the island and exploring the Cars
Impressive to see map is working on infotainment screen in first person view, modern racing games dont even have this kind of attention to details

Quite a nice iga for its time. I watched some gameplay and it seems to me that this game in that video was much better visually, maybe the settings were on max, maybe there were some mods? There is probably more, but anyway this is a great game in my opinion, it's a shame that there is no remaster of this game. Likes for the video. 🤩

I got Platinum mod working on Steam Deck with analog controls and mouse emulation. Feels great to revisit game of my childhood

@@acaciawizard3018 Downloaded the game (folder) in desktop mode and added the executable to steam, checked if it worked at all. Then downloaded Platinum v.1.0 and moved the files with overwrite to game folder, and tested it. Then patch 1.29
Used mouse and keyboard untill I set up controller controls with analog inguts and set trackpads as mouse and scroll. Works nicely in game mode, pretty sure I capped it to 45 FPS because I prefer longer battery life and no fan noise

I have set up base game in desktop mode by adding executable to steam and checking that it works (By default keyboard controls are used)
Platinum is installed by moving and replacing files from V1.0 platinum mod over base game, then patch 1.29 over it (You don't need to do every single patch). This does alter game files, so you may want to keep a base game folder as well
After doing that setup, go to settings -> keybinds, and replace keyboard ones with controller ones (set deck as joystick, a mouse or kb+M will help with this one time setup a lot)
It does register sticks and triggers as analog inputs, but labels them funny. I did not like right stick for selector on map (they would wander, looks like game does not respect stick deadzones), so I used trackpads as mouse & wheel
Works well, Deck will push all 60fps but I limited it to 45 as I like the fans to stay quiet and better battery life

TDU Platinum is one of the best racing games ever made imo, the mod is exceptional
the evo 5 has a weird bug . the driver ped is wrongside and bending to steer on right side lol

I did not play this game but test drive unlimited 2 was great.
To me the driving was much better in tdu1 than tdu2. It was far from perfect but had more realistic consequences for things like oversteer and feel of driving at higher speeds. It was the first open world racing game I've played that put an emphasis on just cruising and no game has really nailed the formula since, the only thing close to a decent driving sim with an accurate map we got is ETS2. Going by the most popular mods on Assetto Corsa people want a game where they can realistically cruise on open roads, street race and have proper car meet ups more than they want another semi arcade unrealistic racing game.
Real fans took those flashes like a champ 🤩…😂😂😂
