I am surprised the meter still works so well for being in a barn. Great job on Johnson building such a quality radio. Great walk through in the repairs Terry! Great upload. Thanks. This old rig should run for a long time. 73.
The old 866's are notorious for failure. When they fail, the HV transformer can be damaged. The 3B28 is a much more robust tube, inexpensive and does not contain mercury.
