Restoring a Heathkit HW-22 Single Bander

If you were a ham in the late 60s you might have had one of these babies bolted under the steel dashboard of your 1965 Ford Falcon. These are marvels of compactness, putting out a solid 100W while weighing hardly anything. Heath brought out three models: 80m, 40m and 20m. In this video, I'm restoring the 40m version, the HW-22. This rig did not pose too many challenges, apart from a filament short and some incredibly dirty boards that cleaned up like new.
