Your video brought back more memories (I've just watch your trip in Siguniang video). I was Leader to a group of college students from UK, we had a guide with us, too. We came up by bus to Ta Gong from Kanding, stayed for a few days, interacted with the young student monks - ending with a sports day with them which was great fun. Then we moved on to trek around Mt Yala. We were there for one of the horse festivals which was fun for the kids to witness. They held it on the grassland just above the stunning Monastery outside the town. Late one evening I took a long walk over the grasslands above and south of the town and caught sight of Minya Gonga's white peak far in the distance. I am a qualified mountain leader (UK) and like the advice you give in your naratives.
