Brilliant, thanks Random. Can't believe that was a Saturday :( I am so glad I was born in the 60's and got to experience so many things that are now lost. I used to have swimming lessons in the baths there and have seen many movies in the Odeon. Also loved the chippy/cafe opposite (I think it is still there!!) the bus used to stop there, many moons ago lol. Take care, from New Zealand :)

it`s nice to see the world famous ashton market where thousand`s come to buy thing`s , oh sorry for being facetious, i meant it`s good to see that there are maybe a couple of hundred people there on a saturday, it is a wonder thgat the council have shut it down all together like they have done with all the other`s in tameside. good video by the way.

      Money is the issue...
I seen it where people just collect drugs off doctors and not take the drugs to keep on benefits but what happened is people are now forced to take the drugs they are receiving...
I know a guy who says he can't sleep so he got sleeping tablets and he said he suffering with depression so he got antidepressants and I said to him what if he had to go into hospital for a night or longer he would be forced to take the drugs coz as far as nurses and doctors are aware of he can't live without em or what happens if he was to have a meltdown and sees a doc and doc sends somebody to house to make sure he takes the drugs known as CTO which means community treatment organization where council got powers to send people to house alto prompt people into taking drugs and if refuse then police can be involved...
My parents was both euthinized on a hospital bed and I know it will happen to me my body will be put in a freezer causing the soul to go into hibernation mode until somebody arranges a funeral for and it will be just over £5.000 to have me crememated AKA ashes to ashes n dust to dust but I might aswell as get off my tits and put petrol over myself n set light....
When I die I should be buried in open land with a tree on top of me and the tree is named after me and if it was like this then I go visit my parents trees everyday..
Stamford High school was the worst school I went to and Penlan Comprehensive all boys school in Swansea was much better coz in Penlan I was the only pupil in the entire school who wasn't Welsh yet the main language was English and we did swimming, wood work, pottery car mechanic, RE and at Stamford I never did any of those things I did at Penlan and imagine opening blinds at 6 in the morning to see wild ponies in the garden and on the street foraging for food so I got a paper round job and earned £20 a week and help feed literally thousands of wild ponies but my family missed home so moved back to Ashton under Lyne then we moved to Stalybridge then to Mosley then to Cambridgeshire now Preston City lol

Can I just say the teachers and pupils laughed in my face when I was at hayes primary school for saying I am going to help trees when I grow older and here I am at 42 year old with a Apple tree, cherry tree, pear tree and a Plum tree in my back garden and all the trees in my back garden are protected by my local council...
Teachers at Hawthornes said if I don't eat meat then I will be weak and am still alive 30 years later without eating meat and I am as powerful as the world's strongest horse coz all I do is eat fruit n vegetables and lift weights and walk and sleep

Hiya fella,I'm from Ashton ,that bit at the end about the padlocks,Iv walked past that a thousand time and didn't know it was
for suicide victims,I actually walked by it this morning.I'll look at it more closely next time.I work at tameside nhs, there are roughly 28 to 30 wards up there, and seven of them of Psychiatric wards, one in four, whats that say about the people of Ashton/tameside ?.As someone who as battled depression and alcohol abuse all my adult life, I think its in our genes . Best wishes.

@@Randomanddesperate Not your fault mate lol. Yards from the court and pub you missed the family history of George Formby Snr. Formby's father was born nearby and his mum used to drunkenly sing in the local bars, getting arrested at the police station baths and lived just yards away from where you began the video. His dad a famous performer also was so tired during performances that he closed eyes and painted eyes on his closed lids. He fled to Wigan where George Formby was born!
      Just thought I'd add that!
